Why wouldn't Vanity be welcomed at a Familly Jamm? You never heard anyone say that she wouldn't be welcomed.

Lisa reposted someones expression and a pic of Vanity on her FB page recently.

But do they have to say something right now? I know in this instant age we expect people to Tweet and Instagram and say stuff right away. Maybe individuals have their own way of mourning her loss. If they are mourning her loss in their own way, why do they need to take advantage of social media to say something.

My older brother is all about posting every birthday death guys out on the town even on his FB he makes "ANNOUNCEMENTS" I rarely do it. And when I do most of the time it is limited to people who are close to the person(s) in question. My brother will even chastise me for not posting things on FB. I just don't think it is everyones business who I feel about things.

Very surprising The Revolution hasn't spoken or maybe some have like Wendy & Lisa not looked at al their pages etc to check. Maybe some of those who have not spoken will be there at her Memorial Celebration on this Sat. It is up to an individual of course to decide to publicly offer condolences or not but when you are famous it is kind of expected, and when you don't of course fans and people that knew the person will wonder why not.

With Prince with Susan, Susannah, and Vanity, and Denise (Vanity) leaving right before 'Purple Rain' then possible there were some conflicts or it didn't go down so well with everyone, no idea on that though! Morris Day, Jill Jones, Sheila E all spoke about her passing.

Or maybe they spoke face to face/or on the phone with people they could express their feelings of loss with and not felt the need to jump on Social Media to make a statement.?

They all greated Vanity with warm smiles and hugs when she present an award to them at the AMA's I doubt highly that people would hold a grudge against her.

Nobody has to do anything publicly and I'm sure people did phone around and speak to others as you mentioned, and that many will be at the Celebration of her life on Saturday who didn't say anything about her passing. Nikki Sixx (Motley Crue) I don't think made any mention of her since her passing, not certain on that but have friend that follows him and said he posts frequently including around date of her passing but nothing. He doesn't have to do so publicly but it gets noticed by people he's said nothing and some naturally perceive that as he couldn't care which may not be the case. I hope nobody from the early 80's era had any issues with Denise (Vanity), I'm sure they didn't! In saying that to believe everyone from the earky 80's Prince era remained best friends forever and stayed in touch is maybe naive, as it would be to think there was never jealousy or arguments, etc sometimes as almost any group of people will have them but those were I'm sure passing and few if any really fell out for good or held grudges against anyone. The Celebration of her life this Sat. 27th will be a wonderful and fitting tribute!

Three days later she proposed to him, and one month after they met, he made her his second wife. (He’d had a brief marriage to a young actress a few years earlier.) But this new marriage, too, quickly turned to dust, recalls Dwayne Simon, a friend of Anthony’s from that time. Dwayne remembers one uncomfortable team-family breakfast before a Raiders game when Denise said or did something that made Anthony furious. “He grabbed her by the arm, made her sit down,” says Dwayne, a producer with the L.A. Posse and Def Jam who arranged music for Raiders games. “She tried to get up, but he snatched her back down: ‘Get down!’ I was really scared for Vanity. I thought he was going to break her friggin’ arm.”

At the same time, Smith was telling one of his rich-white-businessman friends that he had helped Denise get a kidney. (Her body was hard hit from years of drug use before she swore off that life and turned to God.) What a good guy. What an angry one. Was one of those Anthonys more true than the other? Or had he just become a violent man who knew how to shine?

It’s a good thing Vanity got away from Anthony before things escalated to the point of no return.

After he and Vanity divorced, Anthony married his third and current wife, attorney Theresa White. Theresa had previously supported Anthony in his past trials, but in his most recent murder trials, there was no one there for Anthony, except his defense attorney. The families and children of the murder victims were in the court rooom in full effect though. Friends and family of Anthony Smith reported in the past that he’d changed a lot and had isolated most of them from his life and befriended gangsters instead.

He is now serving three life terms without the possibility of parole and his attorneys say they plan to appeal the decision.

Denise “Vanity” Matthews has turned her life around and is now an evangelist, who still has serious health issues stemming from her past drug addictions.

Books are like Art, especially things like photography books. To get absolute best quality paper and have loads of photos, best binding, etc costs a lot of money! Not saying that always justifies high cost but luxury books are like an art picture - people perceive it to be worth high value if they think it is a great work of art and they are interested in the artist or what they have drawn. Forthcoming book of Kate Bush photographs, they actually did Crowdfunding as it is so expensive to produce a quality book. 'Blame It On Vanity' first hardback edition was 3.5 pounds weight and full of photos on high quality paper, even the text was in various colours. I've been to exhibitions for famous photographers where their books are $1000+ and selling framed photos for $2000+!

1. THAT^ marriage, which lasted only a few years from the time of that article, ended in a bitter divorce.

2. Anthony Smith is in prison now serving a life sentence (?) for a second degree murder charge.

As you mentioned it will be PRIVATE memorial service starting at 11am. It was thought it would be open to the public but just announced it will be private. Best way I think because you might get some disrespectful fans trying to take photos, get autographs, talk to celebs, etc. Or reporters trying to get interviews or photos of people, etc. I'm sure if it were open to the public most would not be like that and be very respectful but you'd always get some! According to the article they are not expecting Prince to show up but that might change or even if he is they won't publicly say he is going to be there. He is in CA around that time for concerts.
