I was wondering if he paid her for helping him write the chapter about the two of them in his book?

She helped him write that chapter? She didn't come out too well in his book. Nikki has been dragging her for filth for years.

He may be the first guy some fans punch for the first time! I don't think he has even spoken to give condolences, may be wrong on that though. Denise (Vanity) could have sold a 1000 stories to National Enquirer, TV stations, etc and earned thousands on Prince, Nikki Sixx, etc and even made things up about them just to sell a story but she NEVER did! Nikki Sixx on the other hand has no problem doing that and saying he actually hit her, if you haven't got anything nice to say about someone, don't say it!

Just from watching that video, Nikki is a straight up asshole. I don't believe Vanity is the only woman he ever hit and I don't believe he had to hit her.

He's gross and yes, I did hear that they got together so that she could help him write that part of the book. I'm sure he made a lot of money off of it, wonder if he helped her. Also, I've heard people on here say they wish she'd written stories of Prince or that she was too classy to do that (I agree- she is) but I wanted to say , she DID write about Prince- she wrote about ALL of it, I heard her say on TBN once, but that book never saw the light of day because after writing it, she decided she couldn't trash him so she said she discarded the original and started over, writing with forgiveness instead of anger. But I would have LOVED to read the original!

That's really interesting and shows how far she came in her belief in God. Seems like she had a gift to get people to listen about the word and bring them to God. She used her powerful testimony about her life to do just that.

She was so annointed in God's word. Hers was a testimony that we can all learn from.

She certainly was and if you watch that video (or even just some of it) you'll see she had really studied The Bible indepth e.g. without notes she is quoting numerous verses and chapters, and going into the meaning of words in the original Greek & Hebrew, etc.

This is pretty sad to see :

http://www.ebay.com/itm/V...Swe7BWyjHg

If Denise Matthews wanted any of that public, it would be out there but clearly she didn't. It is after all a Private journal/diary, hope whoever buys it just reads it and doesn't share what is in it everywhere. It has negative things about Apollonia, etc (not Denise being negative, she is just putting down something she heard).

I saw that. Lots of people do lots of things for money. They held on to all of that until now.

It reminds me of the Jackson's Next Generation, when Taj and his brothers lost their mother and they put all of their things in storage and they lost the storage. The guy who bought the lot of storage saw pictures of Kim Kardashian in it and got in touch with her. She then got in touch with the Jacksons, and the guy returned their stuff. That's a genuine heart.

Whoever is selling this is desperate.

I suspect some purple bids are coming in.

Very heartful and moving testimony from Denise at the end on living in "the fullness of joy" despite everything against you. Which she obviously did.

I thought Nikki had changed somewhat. I followed him for a bit, but it got boring with him and The Crue's retirement stunt.

I guess I expected him to just say a few words about Denise. It seems like the kind thing to do. But then again, many haven't spoken out publicly, so maybe that's none of my business wink

I haven't posted here in so long, but just wanted to tell my Denise Matthews anecdote to people who might want to hear it.

.

Back when she was trying to get her book published...what was that? 2006? 2007? I don't remember exactly. Someone had posted on here that if you signed up on her site with your name and phone number, she would call you herself with the book information. I didn't believe it, but gave it a shot. She actually called me!

.

We were getting ready to go somewhere and as I was walking out the door, my cell phone rang with a number I didn't recognize. I answered and she said something like, "This is Evangeslist Denise Matthews calling for SuzyHomemaker." I said, "This is she," with skepticism. She began to tell me about her book and the cost of it ($250). I told her that I just couldn't afford that and explained to her that I hadn't been working since getting a serious illness a few years earlier. She then went into evangelism mode, telling me about her health problems and how the Lord had carrried her thus far, prayed with me on the phone and gave me her cell phone number. Told me to call her anytime. We talked for like 20-30 minutes. I never did call her. I didn't want to seem like I was bugging her. I wish I would have. She would have liked to have known when I was healed from my illness a year later.

.

When I got off the phone and got in the car, I said to my husband, "I could NOT get Vanity off the phone!" Joking of course. My husband looks at me..."What????" He didn't believe it was really her, but I knew her voice. It was her.

.

She seemed very sweet and totally sincere about her faith. I feel sad at her passing, like it was someone I really knew.

I'm wondering-was her death a big deal in Minneapolis? I still continue to be shocked the Revolution hasn't spoken out.

I remember on this board when they had one of the Revolution get togethers, Apples, Susannah, Sheila E, Wendy etc were there and I wondered what would happen if out of the blue and I knew it would never happen, if V showed up and someone said she wouldn't exactly be welcomed if she did. I could have sworn someone said that.

Its still hard to believe that Vanity's gone. I know that she was dealing with some serious health problems but her death still comes as a shock.

One memory i have of Vanity in particular, is from the 1999 tour. I attended one of the shows and as Prince was playing, i crept over to one of the top, mainly empty rows to the right of the stage, to smoke a joint. I was sitting there when Vanity came out one of the side doors below where i was sitting. I yelled out "hey Vanity !", and she looked up and waved. It was only a split second interaction but it was was kinda cool for the 16 year old Prince/Prince Related, fanatic that i was. What i remember vividly about that interaction was the outfit she had on. It was a black leather outfit and she looked really nice in it. I never forgot that.

Anyway, its sad that she's gone. I think Vanity suffered(emotionally) a lot in this life, and now shes in a better place.

Very surprising The Revolution hasn't spoken or maybe some have like Wendy & Lisa not looked at al their pages etc to check. Maybe some of those who have not spoken will be there at her Memorial Celebration on this Sat. It is up to an individual of course to decide to publicly offer condolences or not but when you are famous it is kind of expected, and when you don't of course fans and people that knew the person will wonder why not.

With Prince with Susan, Susannah, and Vanity, and Denise (Vanity) leaving right before 'Purple Rain' then possible there were some conflicts or it didn't go down so well with everyone, no idea on that though! Morris Day, Jill Jones, Sheila E all spoke about her passing.
