No Patricia who dated Eddie Murphy is still alive & was named in Denise's will. She will get just 10% of her publishing rights,5% of her movie rights, & a little flower lighthouse ornament. While her ministers was named executor & will get the bulk of her estate. Including her cars,bank accounts & majority of her publishing & movie rights. That had to hurt her deeply.

I tried to help her as much as I could. I wish I could have done more. I also tried to get others to help.

You're right, not even Halle Berry and everyone makes a big fuss about her.

I know it wasn't happening back then but I think Vanity would've made a great spokeswoman for Revlon and she should've had a perfume and clothing line of her own as well.

I think we all agree Denise was an increibly special & unique woman. One of a kind.

Instead of trying to figure out why she divided up her will the way she did and things we'll probably never have enough backstory and information on to fully understand,

I want to focus on remembering not only how beautiful she was, but how vibrant and positive her personality and spirit was. She was so energetic and so uplifting and she made you smile.

She had a great sense of humor, she could be totally straight with people, she was not pretentious, and most of all, she loved Jesus and that love trasformed her life

from self-hate and despair to hope and incredible joy. For real. You can see it if you watch any of the videos of her speaking over the last 15 years or so.

It's what she would want us to focus on when remembering her.

Here is something real from her life (I promise), since some of us on here have had the opportunity to talk with her.

About 13 or 14 years ago, she said it might be surprising to know what her favorite album was, because it wasn't necessarily the style people would expect.

I don't know what else she listened to, but her favorite album at the time was this one. It happens to be the first major album by a signer-songwriter from Minnesota:

Both Brenda & Susan were there, and many others. Susan and Brenda got baptized at the service, you can see them both on videos.

So pleased it was such a wonderful Celebration of her life and fitting tribute! No word on whether or not Prince was there yet, assume he wasn't and if that was the case it is understandable he wouldn't have wanted to draw too much attention or overshadow things especially with any media outside.

Thank you for posting. This looked more like a celebration, which is really nice. I can't tell you how much she meant to me...Thanks everyone for the nice posts. Her beauty and overniceness hooked me. I always enjoyed her interviews. She was always so honest and chill.

Ihouse I love Sara Groves. I'm not surprised she liked her, her voice is very soulful. Once again thanks everyone for sharing stories and pictures.
