Lawd knows I tried to go past this post without reacting... but now reading it a second time... I just can't resist. How do you know this? and ill at the thought that this is a true story... and feeling ill that you know/heard that it is true. Damn. It was cool when I thought it was simulated. Kind of icky to think as a teenager I watched some man "beat off" onstage.

Of course he faked it. Come on, think! (and with 'think' I don't mean you)

lol

But in all sincerity I don't think he was actually referring to her clothes by way of "going too far". For me the phrases "going to far" and "how sexy could I get" was just tv code for something else that was a specific aspect of her show back then, & you just can't say it straight out during family programming lol . ...

Well, I've never heard it broken down to such detail before (whew), but when I started off with "(speaking of the sexy PR tour performances)", I meant the sexy tour performances fro and not her clothes, lol. That is, if you were referring to my comment..

When she referred to her clothes being criticized after they showed the still photo of her routine with the guy in the chair, I was like... uh, right, it was definitely the clothes, Sheila, lol. fishslap

Man, that must be a nice memory for that select fraternity of fellas...

well i'm sure they didn't wanna show the white one leg outfit from sign o' the times movie hehehe

if ya know what i'm referring to about that outfit and what u could see

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

well again, it wasn't a bob- it was a dip wink- and that was enough back then!--but yup, I felt the same way finding out people script their shows!!!

Did I mention I was even younger than you when I would tag along to these concerts lol ? There would be times I would sit with my little teenage face löooking like this,

eek eek eek eek eek eek eek eek eek eek

We thought we were so cool getting to go to these shows by ourselves. I'll never forget my mom being irritaed because one of my Jackson features in Black Beat Magazine described one of their shows as "sexsational! " Now after seeing how she was all up in arms about that, you can be sure we weren't telling her about Prince, Vanity, Sheila E. or anybody else's show. We always made everything sound really safe and kosher, and it helped tremendously that the only song my mother really knew from Prince was "Still Waiting" falloff

Wohoo!

I was 14 and saw Parliment. My mom had a fit because George wore a diaper onstage.

the next year I saw Prince. She never even asked about Prince, since I really wanted to see the Time and presented the concert as a "Time" concert. But to tell you the truth, I didn't know how risque Prince was onstage. And man oh man... I was 15 watching Prince put his hands down his pants and gyrate his hips. eek and hump the mic stand, and the piano, and the floor, and the air. (sort of like a air guitar except I guess you could call this an air fuck..eek )

and my mom to this day never knew that the Parliment concert was child's play compared to Prince.

Can you imagine if these mommas ever found out? Our asses might have been grounded until we graduated high school falloff
