I think W&L have done some great songs in their time but I always feel that ultimately they are wannabees-Their sound always comes across like a whistful 17yr old dreaming of the big time but have nothing on a mjor level to offer. Having said that I can see their sound working with others-maybe thats the point-maybe they should be off camera or centr stage.

Because people think that W&L made Prince and their pussies smell like Carnation Milk.

I love W&L and have all of their albums but their shit stinks just like Prince's,yours, and mine.

i always thought their nether regions would smell like strawberry quik, but that's just me. shrug

Good music is dead. That includes Prince. Wendy and Lisa. Mainstream. Underground. All the great songs you need to hear have already been written.

hmmm I have to say again that I like this project very much. In terms of final editing, etc., there may have been room for something a tad more dynamic, but I'm certain it's the gesture here -- not some artistic sublimity -- that the girls were going for. geek

As for the track, I wonder how many people who've just heard it and have an issue with it have actually heard it as part of an entire album? White Flags has been received by fans as one of their best (if not the best) and most original works. It's hardly derivative or old hat. "Salt & Cherries" is arguably the most traditionally single-worthy track and, therefore, has a certain mindless pop sensibility all by itself. In the context of the entire album, though, that guitar work really stands out and the track cranks.

the video's cute and the song is catchy. what are people bitching about? i don't get it. and no, i'm not trying to hang on W&L's jock. i just don't find anything objectionable about the song or the video. what i DO find objectionable is people complaining about a band making a video in tribute to their fans. some of you all need to go sit in the time-out corner. no no no!

and as for the song itself, for some reason my brain is doing a mental mash-up of this song with "too bad on your birthday" by joan jett & the blackhearts. headbang

man its a cool vid for the purpose

at least Wendy n Lisa recognise and take notice of their fans

and for the record-i could happily watch Wendy play her guitar all day

the girls are having fun and keeping it real

a word Prince wiped from his dictionary a long long time ago wink

but the fact that the video is a tribute to their fans is NOT my opinion. it's what it is. did you watch it?

nice to see you keep all my comments on file, though. i'm flattered. no, really. touched

I liked the song well enough before but the video mash up with fans just gave it a major boost in my book! thumbs up!

Don't mind the haters, they're just sad, mad and feeling bad because Prince didn't and wouldn't do something that cool with and for his fans. boo

So who else is in the video? Org Roll Call! woot!
I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

My iBook G4 will not play the video, for whatever reason. I'm able to skin through it.

What I like about W&L at this phase is that they really seem to be done with the entire rockstar concept, and just want to connect with their audience in ways that are more authentic. Good for them! I really like what they are doing.

The song's alright. Good indie-pop cult material. Great concept for a video.

I like it. It's very consistent with their recent fan engagement campaign and increased accessibility.

As someone else stated, it's a fun diversion not meant to be taken seriously. If they continue to make these sorts of videos, it would get old, fast. But, as a one-time thing, it's a novel idea, even if it isn't the best or most interesting video around.
