Download limit? Twice? Really? Kiss my ass Prince. Ugly ass website, more of a flip joke everytime U do something. Embarrassing, really embarrassing.

What do you expect for 0.88 cents?

I haven't tried to download the songs more than once, but I'd guess it's an attempt to prevent file sharing. And at that price it would hardly be a hardship to download them again (if you really require the songs four times over).

I don't care if the website is as ugly as a baboons anus. I care about the music being on it at a good price. On this occasion, Prince has delivered on both counts.

I thought the Lotusflow3r site was a mess, but this 3rdeye girl site was straightforward and transparent.

I hope Prince continues to use it and it's a success. Also, that those who are happy with it speak up or vote with their wallets.

Yes, I do wonder what kind of brain damage people who couldn't make this work suffer from. Or why on earth they would try to download them on a phone that isn't made for downloading files off of websites. But there you go... shrug

Yes. My thoughts exactly...

It is a bit silly to have a limit though. It makes more sense if they were files with DRM, then I couldn't email them to anyone and they would have to log in with my account. But these can just be shared, so a limit is ridiculous.

Why could you possibly need to download it more than twice? Bandwidth is the biggest cost for that website, and if you have unlimited downloads you could just let everyone you know get it for your 88 cents. He clearly wants to make some money off these tracks. A two download limit doesn't seem unreasonable. Now, if that wasn't made clear to begin with that's something else altogether.

Really? Because I have more than one device, the internet, my own bandwith (lol, yah, whatever), and I PAID for them. No limit was displaid. It's a stupid approach.

Pay again because U have more than one device, deleted them or whatever....it's a moneygrab that won't sit well with people who have give thousands to him over the years. Backhanded gesture really.

I don't care how good or bad the website that delivers the downloads looks. All I care about is the music and the price. Prince has delivered both this time around. The bitrates are plenty high for 88 cents and the music is new and exciting.

Yes, I would love WAV, AIFF, FLAC or ALAC downloads but those require more bandwidth that costs money and would probably result in a higher pricetag for us.

Yes the songs should be tagged with artwork and proper ID3 tags. That is a pet peeve of mine and doesn't seem like something a world-reknowned musician. Having said that, it feels as if Prince is intentionally going for that "bootleg" aspect of the product.

Seriously, dude? I get as pissed off with Prince and his stupid websites, shitty songs.prima donna attitude and awful business practices as anyone around here - and have posted about it from time to time - but you seem to making this your goddamned mission in life and taking it to a level of absurdity.

I get your frustration, but for the sake of everyone's sanity, mainly your own, perhaps you should move on.

Jeez why are we wasting bandwith on talking about audiophile technical stuff that 95% of people don't give a flip about really? Take it to another thread.

I mean we should be encouraged that Prince has started a website and lets encourage him to continue selling tracks for 88 cents.

Will we be getting some albums for $8.88? (C'mon Mr. P, do it!)

I am with you RRA.. thumbs up!

People just sounds so ungratefull...

Come on, we get to hear and dl 4 new tracks for a rather low price.

Try to enjoy and stop the "crying" over quality.

Please....... enjoy the 2013 experience, stop waisting your time here being naughty about something you just can't change anyway.!!

"Breakfast Can Wait",

oooh I heart the track, really great... on repeat here.. worship

The site is simple. The music easily downloadable. Music straight forward to the fans no membership fees. Things that have been asked for ad naseum on this site since Lotusflow3r shut down. So now lets ask for more options to complicate things and run up costs of the site. If you don't like MP3 then don't buy the music! This thread stopped actually talking about the songs and the site about 4 or 5 pages back. Now it's the high school AV club's 3PM jack-off session.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Courtesty? Really? Copy and move is not the point. Sorry U missed it. I won't use the internet how someone tries to dictate. That's a foolish notion. It's his powerplay. Once I pay for it, it's mine. Just like his selling low quality, he is aware and doesn't care.

but what is so unfair about 'his' system? if you pay for the download, you get it.

i got my downloads, put them in my folders. and copies them onto a usb to play

in my car.

i went back to visit the site and it says i've got 2 downloads left. i guess that's a

nice thing, but i don't really need them.

we all know prince's sites fold in a year or two so if i'm somehow affraid that a

file might get lost by a computer crash or theft or whatever, i can simply put it

in a cloud and be safe.

however, that's not prince's or anyone else's problem, you pay for the song,

and you get the song. that's the transaction done as far as his site now goes.

having the option to always go back to you account and download again is a

service that, i think, itunes provides, right? i'm not sure.

but that's just a service, not everyone has to do that.

to me that's like losing your physical cd and going back to the store with

your receipt and getting another one. no one would ever think that was

reasonable.

same thing with buying a cd in stores is that you rip it and put it on all

your different devices. with the option of downloading the song 3 times

from the website, you can actually put it on 3 different devices.

and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Flashback -

Prince Rogers Nelson received a lifetime achievement award through the 2006 Webby online awards for becoming the first artist to release an album online, which was titled "Crystal Ball." The artist was praised for his use of the Internet to advertise and distribute music among his fans. The award was given to Rogers by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences during a ceremony at the Cipriani Wall Street in Manhattan, New York.

His own worst enemy, always alienating. It's really indefensible.

Actually, no, that's just how the internet and computers/devices work. Nobody is trying to dictate anything. There are numerous sites on the internet where purchasing a download is finite, where you are not allowed to keep downloading the actual file forever. If you want to be mad about something so silly, that's on you. The point remains; you own the track. It's yours to do whatever you want with, including copying it to 1000 different devices if that's what frosts your pickle.

The quality conversation/debate is a different conversation entirely. I'm still not sure how I feel about that one.

In regards to the first part, yes, exactly.

In regards to the second part, you can actually copy it to as many devices as you like. It's a digital file, there is no loss. It will sound exactly the same, forever, unless you start converting it to other file formats.

It's pretty obvious to everyone that you CAN and do have opinions.

You cannot however buy them. As much as you obviously hate Prince and everything he does, for you to buy them would be beyond stupid of you, unless you hate yourself as much as you hate Prince, and really want more to complain about. If that's the case, go ahead, give your money to the person you hate for product you don't like...
