Stranger

I don't think there will be a concert tonight, Prince and the girls have been spotted hammer in hand fixing the roof of Shepherds Bush...

Maybe a bit early to tell, but my favourite gig list could be looking like this...

1. Emporium Aftershow (2nd Night)

2. The Point, Dublin 95

3. Tonight

4. Sign O The Times, Rotterdam 87

5. Parade. third night in London 86

6. Indigo 9th Sept 2007

7. Paard Van Troje 88 (small Club)

8. Act II, Birmingham (super long show) 93

9. Hop Farm (2009)

10. Lovesexy, 3rd night in London, 88.

Emporium aftershow was and still is the best live experience i have ever had!

Despite having seen him 18 times I'm ashamed to say that out of that list, I was only at the Hop Farm. That said, I was at Indigo on 21/9/07 and that was awesome. The NPGMC soundcheck at Hammersmith on 4/10/02 was pretty cool too.
All of my hang-ups have gone. How I wish you felt the same.

I have next week off. I was supposed to be tiling the bathroom, but I'd much rather be painting London purple.

I have next week off as well, but that is merely a coincidence, albeit a nice one.
If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

The t-shirt with the face on it is £70, which was a bit pricy I thought. The standard t-shirts are £20.

I think those £70 ones were more like dresses and one version had a hood. Plus they said Limited Edition... whatever that means!

Then they had Black Tees with the 3rdEyeGirl logo, white tees with the face in black, and Black tees with the face in colour (I think)

Apart from the written logo tops, the £70 ones were the ones worn on the Jimmy Fallon performance.

First time seeing Prince, am only 19, think I may well have been the youngest in there, queued from 1:30 and was 278 in the queue. Absolutely extraordinary show, greatest gig I've ever seen definitely.
Was front row on the first balcony and I found out this was obviously a guest list area. 5 seats left was George Clinton on the side of the balcony! On my left was a Mojo Magazine writer who said the interview was conducted 'on a private island a while back' and on my right was a guy who near the end was texting 'Kiran'on his iPhone which intrigued me so I sneakily looked at him texting haha. He said to her something along the lines of 'thanks for tonight it was incredible', she replied with, and all I could see was, 'what about Thursday, you can sit in the purple box that night' and he replied saying that worked better for him. Thought I'd report back smile
This suggests to me that something is going on Thursday, the Purple box may just be a label she's created meaning VIP or a venue with genuine boxes, hinting at larger venues maybe?

My 9 year old wants to go but there's no way I'd take him without a ticket, especially after the Electric Ballroom incident. He'd have been killed there!

RIP sad

Deb! How you keeping? Hope everything is well.

I'm only a tiny bit regretful that I didn't go. Decided early that there was no way I wanted to go and queue in the cold again. Could have still made it when it was revealed that the tickets were going to be £10 and Mrs Gent was happy for me to go. But you know our story, how could I go without her? It just wouldn't be the same, we should enjoy Prince shows together smile.

Aww Mr & Mrs Gent..the 02 love story...can't believe it was 7 years ago!! Im great thanks..well hope to see you both in some horrendous queue sometime soon!! smile

Hi MGM94 and everyone else,

Cheers for the tip off. Have you ever thought about working as a private eye? You'd be good wink

Haha I try my best! Was proper tempted to mention casually 'sorry I just saw who you were texting...' but had no way of following that up haha
Also to BobDobb Im not sure I'm cut out for it as really my observations have only really added fuel to the rumour fire aha

Royal Albert Hall has Cirque du Soleil until the 16th....and if he's going to "work his way up" the iconic venues he'll probably play a couple more shows in venues similar to last night, then I'd say go to something like Hammersmith Apollo then RAH and then O2.... Again, just my instinct on how I see this thing playing out....so take it all with a grain of salt, especially as the food here could use a bit more of that!

How big is the queue now?

About 455

I was no 458 smile

Finally after a very near miss last Tuesday, and a pointless 200 mile trip on Friday, I made it to a show. We were out of the house before the radio announcement finished & on the train less than 15 mins later.

Queue was really cold but we had some very lovely people around to pass the time with.

We were tired of standing so we grabbed a spot on the front row of the balcony (a few seats along from Mr Clinton!) I screamed my head off like those teenagers on that Beatles in America film. Especially at How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore, Guitar & Endorphine Machine.

I really want to know did Tashbootlegs get to see this or had she already gone home? I hope she was still there. I guess I will have to read back a bit to find out.
