I checked the weather forecase for Budapest and now it looks better than yesterday. It doesn't show any rain. Just little cloudy and quite warm, 24 Celsius. The rain might come on Wednesday. Does the weather forecast in Hungary say the same?

nod Yupp, I am so happy... It seems that it'll only going to rain in the morning (if so), but it will be sunny all day. A bit cold, but I don't mind, I don't want to melt away, especially since there will be a lot of people close to each other. 23 degrees is just perfect for an open air concert. wink

That's awesome news excited!

With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

I hope there will be still tickets left as I still need one for my Hungarian friend probably.

The weather here in Vienna is aweful this morning, I so hope it will indeed be better in Budpest tomorrow pray.

Good luck for your friend with getting a ticket!!!

Here in Salzburg it's bad, too. But I'm optimistic for Budapest tomorrow! smile

FESTIVAL CARD:

When entering the Island together with your wristband, you will receive an empty festival card. You can then charge the card at special charge places either with cash or by credit card (no need to have cash on you). Charge fee is 100HUF/charge if you pay by card. So yes, if you want to avoid having to pay 100 HUF per each re-charge, then better bring cash with you. You can recharge you festival card every time you want. Balance cannot exceed: 240.000 HUF!!

I think that's all that we need to know about this. wink

they're all criminals ! i've been there 2 times but never heard of something like that ! bullshit, i'm really pissed off !

Well, I have just checked again and now it shows a bit of rain for tomorrow again, but it doesn't say when. The temperature is just fine, if that's what it's really gonna be cause last time I was at a Prince concert in Vienna, it was burning hot.

Is it true that today it was sunny and 39 Celsius in Budapest? Just curious to find out how accurate the forecast is over here.

"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

^It's been around 29C and sunny until the afternoon, now it's quite windy and it rained earlier. I guess tomorrow it's going to feel cold mainly because of the wind, but hopefully no rain...

I'll kill him, if he will... lol No, actually the reason why it starts so early, is because he has to be off the stage at 11 p.m. If he feels positive energy from the crowd, plus he is in the mood, plus the weather/technique is all good, then he'll stay long enough. wink Off to take a beauty nap and get ready for tomorrow. C U all 2morrow. wave

Sorry that I kind of disappeared there due to a work trip and haven't been able to help with all the questions -- although MJMia is better than me at answering them anyway. biggrin

BUT, apparently there is some sort of an after party. From the official Sziget Festival Facebook page:

"Party Up" Official PRINCE After Party @ Sziget Festival

23:30-5:00

"Party Up"
Official PRINCE After Party at Magic Mirror

"Thieves In The Temple":

Suhaid (Tilos Rádió, Meat Market)

Vittorio Waxman (Tilos Rádió, Meat Market, Daddy's Favourite)

Not much information there and no confirmation whether Prince will attend. What do you guys think? Worth going?

Ok. Are these acts some sort of DJs?

Anyway, here's the "poster":

The more or less official response to the question "Will Prince be at the after party?" is (from Facebook) "ez egy afterparty, sajnos Prince nem fogja tiszteletét tenni a Magic Mirrorban, de előtte tart egy háromórás koncertet a nagyszínpadon", which I think translates more or less to "this is an afterparty, unfortunately Prince won't be there, but he will be giving a 3-hour concert at the main stage".

So, probably no Prince at the after party, but let's hope that the 3-hour estimate for the main concert comes true! biggrin

It was brilliant. I'm satisfied with the setlist, the sound was very good, Prince was in a good mood and the band was tight.

He played:

We Live 2 Get Funky

Stratus

Prince & The Band

D.M.S.R.

Pop Life

Musicology

The Question Of U/The One/U Will B With Me

The Look Of Love (Andy Allo)

Take Me With You

Raspberry Beret

Cream

Cool/Don't Stop Til You Get Enough

Purple Rain

When Doves Cry

Sign O The Times

Hot Thing

Kiss

If I Was Your Girlfriend

Gold

Let's Go Crazy

Delirious

1999

Nothing Compares 2 U

The Bird

Jungle Love

A Love Bizarre

Sometimes It Snows In April

The setlist and arrangements were very mature and I love that. There were many jazzy breakdowns and solos by Cassy (who is a brilliant keyboarder).

I also saw the soundcheck and they played The Max with Prince on piano, which was absolutely fucking awesome.

52€ well spent.
