IMO they are just trying to make extra money with it as from what I see you can only get a refund if you don't spend all the money you put on it once the festival is over on one day only directly at the festival. And of course I and many others are long gone that day.

I've been an MJ fan for over 20 years, but actually stopped posting anything related to him 2 years ago. Too much pain... That's one of the reasons, another is that I just recently discovered there is an MJ related thread here.

So, back to topic: I'd say you will need Hungarian Forints as well, even if at a lot of places they accept Euros. A bus/tram ticket costs 320HUF (~1,15 Euros)

Basicall yes.

But uhmmm, bear in mind that 10 HUF is very very little money. A drink costs around 200-300 HUF.

You're welcome. The parking is free after 6p.m. If you come earlier than that then, you'll have to pay around 400-500 or maybe 600 HUF. which is not bad, it is around 2-3 euros, so it isn't very expensive, it depends when you are coming of course. The fee is 400 HUF/hour (1,5 euros). OR park right next to the Danube, it is FREE there all day. Most certainly you'll find a place there as it will be Tuesday and it is pretty far away from the venue... But if not then make a few rounds around the place and there will be something there. The parking fee is at the same price around the area.

That's a good question. There a looot of places to go to in Budapest. You could go to Margit Island, to Cha-cha-cha os Hold udvar or across the Margit bridge there are a lot of pubs one after the other. Again because it wont be weekend the places won't be loaded with ppl.

But of course, you can just stay at Sziget as it is a festival, there will be a lot of places to go to. The Prince concert won't be the only thing happening, and your ticket is available for all shows/places for the the entire day.

I've got one more question. What shoes shall I bring? I think we're gonna be standing on grass and over here, it's been very rainy since the beginning of the holidays so even though, it's sunny, the soil is soaking wet and pretty muddy. Is it like that in Hungary as well?

Yes, unfortunately it's going to rain on Tuesday and it's not going to be warm. But at least they are saying it's going to rain in the morning and not in the evening. Also, I'm not sure about this but I think they are putting some plastic floor thing in front of the big stage, or at least that's what I've seen on tv when they showed construction footage.

So, about the 7 pm start, how concrete that is?

I guess only around the main stage, so from the gates to the stage it's going to be muddy indeed.

The official site only talks about the 10 m long catwalk, maybe tonight in the news they will show more.

The picture is taken from the inside of the stage. This is exactly how all his stages looked like during the Europe tour this year. He ordered this T-part of the stage for the concert and they bulit it for him. As you can see from the picture it is only half done. So it is still under construction.

I'm almost 100% sure that the Hungarian media is going to be all over Prince the next couple of days. And he will most certainly hate it. It is a big event, that he is coming, so expect footages from the very first second till the last. Unless his men are able to outsmart the Hungarian paparazzi.

Well, you are not goin to have to step on the mud between the stage and the fence. Plus bear in mind that the stage is not finished yet. Plus, this is going to be a festival so you must expect durt and mud especially since the weather is going to be sh*t... Do not wear anything you like too much.

I checked the weather forecase for Budapest and now it looks better than yesterday. It doesn't show any rain. Just little cloudy and quite warm, 24 Celsius. The rain might come on Wednesday. Does the weather forecast in Hungary say the same?

Yupp, I am so happy... It seems that it'll only going to rain in the morning (if so), but it will be sunny all day. A bit cold, but I don't mind, I don't want to melt away, especially since there will be a lot of people close to each other. 23 degrees is just perfect for an open air concert.
