Does any of the Hungarian orgers know if there are still many tickets left or if I need to hurry to buy mine? Or where I could find out about that?

[Edited 7/26/11 3:18am]

I am not sure but I'd suggest you hurry. I heard there is a great demand... wink

omfg lol Can anybody who ordered tickets with Vili's link (http://www.sziget.hu/festival_english/ticket/buy_your_ticket_online) tell me if there is an additional fee I have to pay with the ticket purchase?

edit: Oh I guess it is a 2% service charge that I have to pay as far as I see it now

Hi Hungarian orgers,

have got my ticket biggrin and looking forward to Prince's surprising premier in the homeland of one of my grand-mothers wink

I have not yet decided how to travell to Budapest -train or by car- and would like to ask you:

-how is the parking situation round he Sziget festival, what would you advise ?

- will there be a curfew/is ther a certain time, the concerts have to end?

-what is the maximum capacity for spectators at this particular event?

Peace and b funky

Hi there!

- Parking: you can park outside the Island, however I highly doubt you'll find an empty place, so I'd suggest you park your car in the city at BATTHYÁNY SQUARE and go out with the railway (HEV), which stops right next to the entrance 1 minute walk. The stop's name where you have to get off the railway is called: FILATORIGÁT!!

- To my understanding no, parties last till the atmophere is good enough. There have been some complaints couple of years ago, by ppl that live nearby, but I haven't heard of any restrictions.

- That's a good question I don't know. 2 years ago, I have been to a concert at the main stage, and the place was pretty huge... Could've been around 15.000-20.000 people there... but again, I am not entirely sure

Any questions, let me know... wink And of course, welcome... I bought my tickets as well. Looking forward to this... biggrin

Ok, thanks 4 the infos thumbs up!

At this Batthyany Square there is free parking? And it's quite close to the Margit-island and doesn't look too big on my map, so you think it will provide enough parking-space for the many concert-goers ?

And what would be a nice place/club/bar (not too loud ) nearby for chilling out after the concert ?

I am already bankrupt after the three nights with Prince at the NSJ in Rotterdam, and I'm going to Cologne AND Budapest as well. And all the people who know me are only shaking their heads and think I am totally nuts. And yes, I am ... totally crazy about Prince!! And I love it!!!! biggrin

Oh, and a Vienna show would be awesome! I sure would not miss that either!!!! wink

Could be... But fear not, no curfew in Budapest bad as in Cologne... So unless Prince don't like us Hungarian fans, he has no reason to leave the stage earlier than dawn. lol The technique better be good!!! sad Just came back from Cologne. Urghhhh!! mad

You're welcome. The parking is free after 6p.m. If you come earlier than that then, you'll have to pay around 400-500 or maybe 600 HUF. which is not bad, it is around 2-3 euros, so it isn't very expensive, it depends when you are coming of course. The fee is 400 HUF/hour (1,5 euros). wink OR park right next to the Danube, it is FREE there all day. wink Most certainly you'll find a place there as it will be Tuesday and it is pretty far away from the venue... But if not then make a few rounds around the place and there will be something there. The parking fee is at the same price around the area.

That's a good question. There a looot of places to go to in Budapest. You could go to Margit Island, to Cha-cha-cha os Hold udvar or across the Margit bridge there are a lot of pubs one after the other. Again because it wont be weekend the places won't be loaded with ppl.

But of course, you can just stay at Sziget as it is a festival, there will be a lot of places to go to. The Prince concert won't be the only thing happening, and your ticket is available for all shows/places for the the entire day. biggrin

Hope this helps... wink Shout if you need more info... kitty

So there is not going to be a separate entrance for the Prince concert? The ticket for Prince is valid for the day and whenever we get there we can theoretically already line up in front of the stage and stay there until he comes on?? I have been wondering about that already, maybe you know about it. Thanks!

It says at least 5 days. That's for people who'd like to stay for the whole festival, but would rather stay in a hotel and not camping out in the rain...

No, I am asking because I have got this voucher and not the ticket. I bet there will be huge qeues, but I have not idea how huge can they be and whether I'll have enough time to exchange it for the ticket. never been to that type of festival, so I have no idea.

If I book this one, how long would it take me to get to the place by public transport, underground or something? I can't find it via map.
