So what you are telling me is that I have great tickets now?, I'll tell my girl that, she managed to get these tickets today through TM after 3,5 hours of trying.
Are you sure that Arena tickets are not preferable to first ring tickets? |

got my tickets (including confirmation email and PDF's) through the website just after lunch. Normally at North Sea Jazz they will use the Arena, but only placing the stage along the long side of the arena (just as in the Kuip in 1988 for those of you who are old enough to remember) |

Arena tickets are best but ONLY of you plan on showing up EARLY. Sound-wise you're best off halfway the arena. But if you want to get a good pic of Prince's camel toe make sure you get at the Ahoy hours before the show starts. [Edited 5/13/11 12:47pm]

Not saying it's the best, but the view is very nice and relaxed. But be in the right place early! Or other people will come and pick it in. Arena field tickets are the best if you're able to be in front of the stage. |

but what about the people already inside the building, those like me with dagkaarten en pluskaart for Prince? they might be first in, or last - I should not forget it's a Prince concert so things are not in line with my logic

So far I've heard from the organization, they will have 2 different entrances, and they will open almost at the same time.. so maybe there will be like 2 min or something in difference..
I will be there early for all 3 shows.. (If I can get 2 tickets for friday and saturday. But I gonna do everything to get them..) so I hope I can get front row.. It's always the best experience.. [Edited 5/13/11 13:35pm] |

thanks for the info! it's in line with my logic... so for now I assume something will go differently In front of the stage is indeed the best experience - but for me it's more important to be there...
And there are still enough tickets (only a couple of thousand sold so far) so good chance you'll get your tickets for friday and saturday good luck anyway! |

I was at the north sea jazz festival a couple of years ago and the stage of the main and biggest concert hall are was positioned length wise, that is why the venue can hold only 9000 instead of 13000.
It looked something like this (see next page). [Edited 5/13/11 14:43pm] It ain't oveR |

Capacity of the new Ahoy is 15,000. |

Anyone knows about the seats (layout of the venue) really? I got tickets, it says first ring entrance west, standing.
Are there standing tickets other then " floor" tickets? Never saw that before anywhere.
Those BLUE bars are standing tickets behind the first ring, those are actually great tickets in this stadium .
The stage is probably closer to the left, so the arena will be samller then you see here.
Thanx for clearing this up btw Trashcat. |

I read somewhere that this isn't the case this year, the stage is pulled backwards a bit from the normal setting. No stage on side you're showing now. I'll add a homemade-map later today. |

Please, don't create too much panic now! Last year in Geldredome everything was relaxed... when you arrived an hour before the show started you had really good places just in front of the stage...

ta add to this: Nude Tour was in a stadium (De Kuip) in Rotterdam, Ahoy is also in Rotterdam (2 km or so apart) but a different (covered) venue. |

According to this site North Sea Jazz has asked for a permit to go on until 4 o'clock AM on all three days, and the permit has been granted. |

I finally found this reply from Jillis (thank you!) that the stage is not on the broad site but somehow like I posted yesterday.
I called concert organizer Mojo. After the recent renovation, the Sportpaleis hall (or Maas hall as it is called during the festival) gives room to about 15.000 visitors during regular concerts. The stage will not be at the broad side as was the case during the previous North Sea Jazz festivals but at the short side where the stage normally is. But there is a difference, the stage will be built more up front, so the capacity is reduced to about 9.000 visitors.
