Wowwwzwerssss! This is going to be the bomb! smile It's so awesome how Prince just called George Lopez! I'm sure he had to see when George Lopez referenced him in kicking Kim Kardashian off the stage! Lol!

It's going to be EpiK with a K when he comes on George Lopez Wednesday! I'm also expecting the greatest runs on the 21 night showcases! Prince is the man right now, I mean he always has been and will be, but now the dude is doing his thing FULL THROTTLE! I'm with it every step of the way! You never know what to expect with Prince, which makes being a fan of his worth the while!

From wikipedia:

The Forum (known for a 15-year period as the Great Western Forum) is an indoor arena, in Inglewood, California, a suburb of Los Angeles. From 2000-2010 it was owned by the Faithful Central Bible Church, which occasionally used it for church services, while also leasing the building for sporting events, concerts and other events.

Along with Madison Square Garden, it was one of the most well-known indoor sports venues in the world, during this time. The Forum achieved its greatest fame as the home of the Los Angeles Lakers, of the NBA and of the Los Angeles Kings, of the NHL from 1967–1999, when the teams moved to Staples Center. The building was also the home of the Los Angeles Sparks, of the WNBA, from 1997, until they too moved to Staples Center in 2001.

The Forum was the site of the 1972 and 1983 NBA All-Star Games, the 1981 NHL All-Star Game, Basketball at the 1984 Summer Olympics and hosted the Big West Conference men's basketball tournament from 1983–1988 and also the 1989 Pacific-10 Conferencemen's basketball tournament.

In December 2010, Madison Square Garden, Inc. was reported to be finalizing a deal to purchase the Forum.

The arena can hold up to 17-18 000 people for concerts !

[Edited 4/7/11 22:45pm]

is that a lot?

Depends on how you look at it i suppose?

The O2 Arena holds about 20.000 i recall. Prince did very well there for 21 nights.

On his recent tour in Europe he played different venues. the biggest was (i Guess) The Gelredome in Arnhem, holding around 30.000 people.

The big difference is that the London shows were clearly listed as his only European shows that year, so he was pulling from an audience the size of a continent. Plus London was well positioned to welcome the France, Irish, Dutch, Belgian, German,Spanish and Scandanavian fan bases.

Then again, I didn't think he would manage 21 nights in London.

It depends what size the forum is, and how much tickets are. Plus, if he has any sense, like London, he will announce 21 nights in the city, without confirming the same venue for all 21 nights.

Prince only played 21 nights at the O2 once ticket sales proved to be strong (the price made it throw away good value). Had he only sold out 10 nights, he probably would have played 11 intimate small gigs to make up the numbers.

Either way, I wish I lived in LA now! The 21 night in London, half an hour from my front door was a dream come true. I still can't find uses for all my copies of Planet Earth!

Don't be suprised if Prince makes the concert tickets really really cheap. In London then were half to two thirds cheaper than some artists, plus you got a free album.

Get digging in the sofa for change! Hope you get to see him.

nod

I agree. Pricing was excellent of course and he was not performing anywhere else in Europe that year (and it had been a while). and you had a fairly good chance for a aftershow in the same building.

Was not my doorstep, but i went twice from the Netherlands and was worth every cent and penny wink

well the tickets for 21 nights in london were £31.21...so i reckon that tickets will be around 40 us dollars ...this is just a guess but i reckon it will be around there....playing that many nights...he knows he has to keep them very good value....plus the rip off vip tickets of course...

.

if he is using the symbol stage....dont get floor seats....try and get seats about 10 rows up ...they have the best view...

People said that about 21 nights in London. And he sold all of those in a 20,000 plus arena with aftershows.

The pricing will be key, I think.

Exactly. In apathetic LA? I just don't see it happenin'. I'm sure some of them will sell out, and a lot of those that aren't will be close to selling out, but I don't see a completely sold-out 21 night stand in LA. Unless he made them dirt ass cheap.

He must really be tired of the whole traveling back and forth routine like a "normal" tour does.

Another site to watch for news/updates on this:

I kind of hope it's a new song... but a good one, ala Fury.

Erm I don't he is anybody's act as such. AEG was certainly the promoter of the 2004 Musicology Tour AND own the O2 so promoted the 21 Nights Residency there. Is he with Livenation for these current Welcome2America dates?

EDIT: Oh he is with Livenation now. Sorry not paying that much attention to detail here in the UK, carry on! biggrin

Will be very hard to sell out or fill the arena for 21 nights at the prices of the NYC or Carolina or Oakland shows. I bet the prices for the majority of the seats will be a lot cheaper.

I am going to LA the end of June, looks like I will miss it!!!!!!!
