When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

I'll settle for the $125 seats this time.. .heard the expensive ones weren't worth it cause of obstructed view.

Even though I'm in NJ, I was curious... I wanted to see if CA was paying more than we did...

The prices listed are $59. - $281.

I loved the days when NPG members got pre-sale tickets. I think they were around $90, and the seats were the BEST! I wish they would bring back the club.

As far as I know there will be no VIP packages with these shows. It's too short notice and it's going to be a standard stage setup. No guitar-shaped stage for these shows..... which is a good thing.

No pre-sales either. Again, no time.

^^^ I'm not so sure about that. I just called the Oakland Coliseum office and they aren't sure yet what kind of stage Prince is going to have. The person I spoke to said (hopefully!) they will have more information on the stage set-up by tomorrow. I said this information is crucial to buying tickets on Friday! She ruefully replied, "Yeah, I know!" They seemed flustered by this last minute announcement, just as everyone else is! razz lol

I'm just going with what I saw on the Oracle Arena website along with a little common sense.

Ask yourself this..... Would Prince really cart that stage all the way from the east coast for 2 shows? It probably takes 2-3 semi's to haul it. I could see that stage being in LA because of the celebrity factor, assuming that he goes to LA after the Oakland shows, but not here.... please.

There's also the issue of the ticket prices. I've seen a lot of shows at this venue and the price breakdown leads me to believe that it's going to be a standard configuration. There would obviously be VIP pricing info on Ticketmaster as well if there were going to be table seats etc.

What's more is the fact that there's a basketball game on Tuesday. They would have to dismantle that stage and set up the court in time for a late morning practice. Not gonna happen.

I admit that part of this is just hope. I HATE THAT STAGE. It's 2' too tall and it greatly reduces the number of good seats. It also allows the concert to be in the round which sucks. That does nothing but create more not-so-good seats and a lesser view for everyone. Some of the floor seats at MSG that cost $500/750 had obstructed views and were downright awful for short people. Everyone I know who saw shows at MSG said the center loge sections were the best seats. Way better view than the floor for 50-75% less money.

^^^ I totally agree with you! I had great seats on the floor at the arrow end of the stage at the Izod and my view was obstructed by huge ass speakers. The people in the elevated section behind us had a better view! That is why I want to know definitively if it is an end stage or a centered symbol stage before tickets go on sale Friday. I am calling back tomorrow to find out! This totally matters--cause I ain't gettin no nose-bleed seats!

You're right, it does matter. I'm right there with you.

We will definitely know by the time tickets go on sale on Friday, but the "End Stage 2" diagram that's on Ticketmaster as well as the Oracle Arena calendar page is most likely what it will be.

http://www.coliseum.com/events/show.php?id=1297888659

I kind of wish these shows would be will call only. That would all but eliminate the fuckhead scalpers, but at the same time it would cause big delays trying to get 12,000 people through will call. Who knows, maybe the lack of time between the on sale and the Monday show will discourage scalping. Fingers crossed.

I'm still wondering how Prince intends to fill a venue that big on such short notice. The New Jersey/New York City shows had a lot more advanced notice. I went to the first shows at the Izod. The first show was cancelled because enough tickets didn't sell. I hope this doesn't happen in Oaktown. confused

All I know is people are going crazy around NorCal right now. The word spread pretty fast. The Monday show is on a holiday. I've already spoken with a couple of folks who are going to come home early from their vacation so as not to miss the first show. Some other friends are driving up from LA. It's on.

I will be there for both shows from Fremont. I am just waiting to see what the stage set up will be also so I can decide which tickets to buy since there are 4 different price ranges. I checked craigslist to see if anyone had any advance tickets and they had suites that hold 20 people for $2500.00. Never been in there suites so dont know if they worth it.
