Anyone notice that during Cee Lo's set, the teleprompters read, "NO F WORD"?

A stage hand even got up and told him, "No F word."

All I wanna know is, how big is the stick up Prince's ass for him to do this to fellow musicians? I'm just glad the audience yelled out a few big "FUCK YOU's" when he called on them.

Great show Prince, but FUCK YOU! wink

Do you actually think Cee Lo gave a fuck that he was asked to not use the word, especially when having the honor of opening for PRINCE? If he didn't agree to it, or like it, he didn't have to agree to perform. PRINCE has said time after time that his concerts are now family-friendly shows. If you don't like it, don't go, loser.

And why am I not surprised that this ignorant comment is coming from the same ignorant moron who posted this thread last year? "Why does Prince need all them [snip - CarrieMpls] on stage with him?"

Typical bitchy org a-hole. rolleyes

I agree with these impressions. 1/18 was full of surprises. Tonight more energy, however, there were a couple big surprises tonight, especially Mountains. That was unreal. Also I would die 4 U and Pop Life were nice surprises since they have not been done on this tour. Ending with covers was kind of weak, but the crowd seemed into it so I won't complain too much.

this show tonight was more of the "party" atmosphere, and that was pretty evident right away. i did think something didnt sound right with Laydown, like there was something about it they just didnt get in sync, but that's just me. 1999, well, wish he would drop this one from the set, just is a bit cheesy for me. always nice to hear the revamped version of Little Red Corvette- he seemed to extend the improv and "slow-down" later part of the song. it was great when he brought Kim Kardashian on the stage to dance with him, she just stood there absolutely still. it wasnt one or two seconds later he told her to get off the stage !!! and did anyone else notice during Dreamer, when he sang the Welcome 2 America part, he said "where a girl(or someone??) can get famous for doing absolutely nothing" !!! funny dig at her. Purple Rain was very strange to hear so early in the set- i think he was already playing it at 9:10 pm. all in all, this show was more predictable as far as the set, but the energy level was through the roof. best crowd out of all the msg shows i'm pretty sure. we showed him the love and he knew it. he said" we're coming back very soon- it won't be long. i love playing here". (sounds like the tour will be continuing in NYC !!!!). the set did not have the "surprise" factor that the 1/18 show had as far as hearing songs you didnt expect to hear, so for me, 1/18 was more enjoyable. but Prince delivered a HIGH-energy show and it was a nice ending for the run in NYC. like he said, have to leave it or a high note. this crowd was not lame, people were standing and dancing all night, NYC represented. now let's get working on really shaking up that setlist........!!!!!

yes, i agree, it WAS nice to hear Pop Life- unexpected.

overall, i think tonight, Prince was very much into the whole "atmosphere" in the Garden and the crowd, whereas on 1/18, he seemed to have an intensity in his performances of the songs themselves. 2/7 takes it for crowd participation and HIGH energy, great way to end the run of shows, but 1/18 i think takes it for most enjoyable show of the tour(and P was on fire that night- too bad the crowd was sort of lame on 1/18). so, yea, every show has been a little different, but not the variations in the changing of the setlist that i thought we would get when these shows were initially announced. still the best damn live show out there and i feel so priveleged to have witnessed 3 of the 6 shows in the NY area. like the man said, he'll be back very soon, so we'll all get to do this again!!!(hopefully in the summer).

Part of me wishes I actually ventured over to an afterparty since I have never been, it is open, and I am still awake anyway..My piggybank is thankful though that I decided not to go...

I also was fortunate to do 3 of 6 shows and will go again when another comes...

Especially at 52; some people just don't recognize how Badd P. Even 10 - 15 years ago when he was younger couldn't see how he did a Concert and then do a Afterparty!!! lol

I had a great time tonight! My cousin loved it. She's never been to the garden so she was already thrilled before Prince hit the stage. For me - the only downer was he started to play Forever in My Life (and I nearly passed out) but then he stopped. I think that was wrong. He should have played that song. Who cares if it wasn't a "hit" It's a beautiful song.

If he did play it all the way through - I'd still be at the garden passed out on the floor. LOL It's my absolute favorite song. oh well - it was still a great show!

i agree alot with you...

the show was great. the setlist was predictable. i was hoping for more surprises like 1/18. that was my fave of all 6. but to hear POP LIFE, aliitle more of WHEN DOVES CRY and omfg!!!MOUNTAINS!!!!! that was the best! i really really adore the new version of little red corvette. i'ts been in my head since the first sHow he played it at almost nonstop.

looking at my hands i got black and blues on my palms from all the clapping.

kim kardashian. haha she just froze!!starstruck anyone??

alot the ppl in my section were sitting. the 3 girls next 2 ne had a blast. the girl next to me FREAKED when he played dreamer

i didn't have $200 cash on me or my debit card. dr funkenberry tweeting i seem to think i really didn't miss out on much or that it seemed like he played that long or that it was worth 200 bux.

i had a blast going to the karaoke bar again with a bunch of you guys. videos will be posted tonight

* oh yeah brad pitt and angelina were there. OMFG! i love her!!! my fave actress

The setlist was mostly hits again, true, but that meant the crowd was more into the songs. Jan. 18th had a better setlist, but that crowd was weak. Tonight there was lots of energy all around. Prince really put his all into tonight's show. I nearly died when he opened the third encore with "Mountains".

Who was the harmonica player?

Yes! eek

the laydown opening... Ripping the stage in that gold sequin outfit... I have no words, it was fucking awesome.

Mountains??? OMG its like he knew my hearts one wish for this show. Him doing mountains was an amazing amazing surprise, like him doing anotherloverholenyohead at the jan 18 show. I died and went to heaven. Him blending that into MJ "shake your body down" was genius and it shocked the shit out of me. Brilliant!!!

I was also tickled by him kicking kim k off the stage and then making that jab during "welcome 2 america". Great comic relief.

He reeeallly seemed to be having a ball on stage, and I was happy to see that after that BS in Dallas...

Oh, and yall not convincing me misty is not his boo. Nope, no maam/ sir.

Please, don't stop these shows!

I had a great time. I loved my seats- I had an EXTREMELY hard time taking any pics during his gold outfit time..The security was super tight and I got nothing. Not just me but most near me in my section. Could not believe. Once they switched guards it was fine though...I just have a crappy camera so I don't know how the pics look yet.

I had a great time, as always...Lots of people if my section to see (celebrity wise)...The energy and crowd was 'better' this time, but for some reason if I had to compare there was still something about the 1/18 show that just rocked it a notch higher...(Agree with PAchoas and CrazyL)..However, either way i loved the show.

Liked CeeLo and their song together...

Don't like the sound at MSG..

Still wonder why we have to call up the Kim K's in the crowd..

Had an excellent time though and very happy to have gone again and great seats!.

[Edited 2/8/11 0:03am]

The sound system at MSG was terrible!!! I should have went to his show in NJ. None of my pictures came out right when he was wearing the gold outfit. I'm pissed because I had good seats.

To tease the FIML would have sent me over the edge....somehow I would have tried to jump the stage and begged the poor man to do it!

WHo was the harmonica player?

What song was the Piano side asking him to do when he kept saying about getting pregnant? I know he said that last show but I was wondering if that side was shouting for a specific song?
