To my oldest and dearest friend...

I miss you. I have been at a lost for words, but you know my heart. I want to be filled with anger, but can I can barely feel anything at this time. I have questions that cannot or may never be answered. Such as; why you were taken from us?

Perhaps it has not set in that you're no longer here. And in my own vanity, I'm hoping you someway you'll read this. The joy you brought to my life, and the laughter that remains with me will never be compared and could never be measured. You did everything you set out to do, and so much more. As I look back on all the precious moments in my life, you were always a part of them. Other times...you were them.

I still think you're laughing at me... "Haha, I'm still younger than you". Or laughing at me then scolding me for eating too much ice cream. But as we always said... "There's ALWAYS room for ice cream." You taught me patience and the importance of having options in life. Though I'm still extremely impatient and stubborn. I'm sure your students could teach me a thing or two about that. And of course my niece...whom I still haven't thought of how to tell her that Little Lisa can no longer come over. She has grown so much... and is such a little lady. Thanks in great part to you. Guess who gets to do her nails now? Thanks a lot. LOL I owe you one.

Not sure if I'll attend the Madonna concert...won't be the same without you. But if you want me to be there, let me know. Now it's me asking..."Where's the party?" I've been playing Bette Midler's latest album non stop. And in a way I hear you singing along. You said "The Rose" always reminded you of me. Though I've heard it a million times, maybe I never listened with my heart. "Beaches" will always be our movie and you always told me I was the wind beneath you wings. Now I see that it was YOU that lifted ME. So, thank you. Thank God for you. For you are still the wind beneath my wings.

I had no idea! I'm sorry Chico, I truly am. Weird thing is, I was just listening to "Comeback" from The Truth, and I almost never listen to that album! Much more poignant to me right now, FOR SURE!

I'm not sure why I decided to post this...I guess I just want people to know how special she is. I'm still in shock and disbelief. It has not become a complete reality to me that I can no longer see her. Even more so, that the reason she isn't here; is due to the fact that the doctor made a mistake and cut too deep. However anger, and lawsuits won't bring her back. We are all human and make mistakes. It was not intentional, and it is he, who has to live with his mistake. I know God has His reasons; so I choose not to be angry with God, but rather thank him for bringing her into my life. I didn't get to say goodbye, and perhaps that's best. Because we never said goodbye. See ya later, was more appropriate. I will not be allowed to attend the service because it is a private/family only. I respect that. There will be a "Celebration of Life" and fund raiser this Sunday to raise money for underpriviledged children. You see, Lisa was a teacher. Kids were always her biggest love and concern. I think it'll hit me on that day. For now I'm on 'auto pilot'. Not sure how or why I am functioning. I feel nothing...just lost.

I ask you all a favour if you will. In your own way, religious or not... please say a prayer or take a breif moment to tell Lisa "HELLO". She loves sunflowers. So if you see one, I hope it will bring a smile to your face the way Lisa always did to mine. Thank You. God Bless You all.

I've got tears in my eyes too over here. I'm so sorry to hear of this, Chico. You're such a great guy, you don't deserve to have something like this happen to you. It sux that because of a doctor's mistake, Lisa was taken from you. That is so unfair!! Why did it have to happen to Lisa, who you obviously loved very very much? It totally sux when we put all of our trust and faith in doctors to take care of our loved ones and to not let anything happen to them, and then stuff like this happens.

Even though Lisa is no longer here, I know that she is still with you in spirit, and she will live on in your memory. Take care of yourself and let us know how you're doing.
