Ive always sworn by Tylenol Cold Daytime medicine.It will make you a bit jittery,but you'll forget about your symtoms for awhile.

Da hot lemon tea thing usually does it for me...temporarily!!! Otherwise a good inhilation of Vicks vabour rub works wonders on congestion!

6 Echinacea pills per day
2 potein shakes (2% milk is fine)
2 multivitamins (1 in the morning, 1 at night)
Lots of juices (OJ especially, and grapefruit juice)
Fruits, vegetables, and protein foods
Hot tea (Peppermint tea is best)
Nyquil to sleep, Dayquil for the day (liquid forms are better)

Cut out sugars, greasy food, and coffee

Get a shit load of rest. Sleep as much as possible.

Then find the person who gave you the cold and stab them in the fucking eyes with a broken light bulb.
