Question of the day (Black Entertainment) okay I'm going to try and start this dicussion and hopefully, we can have a argument with it getting 2 carried away with it, but I was just wondering...
Why are most black television comedies? I have yet to see a black televisision , that's like ER or The Practice. A friend of mines said, they don't really like to watch black television shows these days, because they always seem to depict Black America and we are making fun of ourselves, kind of like how Bojagales did with the tapping in the shirley temple movies. The white audience didn't want to black actors taking seriously and I still see that happening in today. If you haven't noticed, when there is a black movie that's released, it's always a semi-drama/ comedy. I think in alot of ways the the black audience have been bambozled, because when there is a serious drama about black people, we don't go see it. I'm waiting for the day, when there will be a black version of Beverly Hills 90210 , that won't be aired on UPN or the WB. I want to see the day were the emmies and the oscars will have a mix crowd of people with both black actors and white actors, not just Denzel & Halle Berry.
