PennyPurple when I was 14 I was already experimenting sexually. Like a lot of other 14yr olds

14yr olds snuck out to parties, and concerts, got fake ids

I don't think this was his first party.

Anthony said he told people about it after it happened not right after, I think it was a year or so he said. But we don't know the 'expression' of how he told them. Remember, a lot of 14yr old boys who will get sexual advances from an older woman "Hot For Teacher" don't see it as a bad thing. That is why you don't hear much from younger males/older females.

-

I think this is a point that people can't wrap their head around.

I see that Milo Yiannopolis is jumping on the bandwagon when in reality there are parallels to what he was saying and what Spacey said.

Was Sapcey's coming out ill-advised at such a time? Perhaps. But like someone said had it come out later people would've jumped to the conclusion THAT is why it happened and he had something to hide. Milo was being snarky, sassy and controversial, but he was pretty much saying that as a teenager gay teens see sex in the same way straight teens do.

It's traumatic for us adults to think that such things can happen, but to a teenager that goes to adult parties, that then follow strange men home to their hotel rooms...

The takeaway is that the onus is on the adult to act, well, adult. And follow the law.

I had to talk to a few gay and bi men to get that how/when they began thinking about sex and experimenting is no different than I.

.

It is just that a few too many think if it is two men it is deviant and a worse violation than if it wa a man/girl-woman and even less it is is woman/male-teen

Take that up with SuperFurryAnimal. I'm sure you are aquainted with his posting style. Noticed he has not made any replies here except to create the thread.

This is a very enlightening thread. I did not know that inexperienced or even sexually active boys of age 14 are asking for it if they go to an adult colleague's party (in a hotel), get jumped, and feel violated. No wonder women/girls can't get any traction either.

I still wish they would wrap the series up even if they write the President out of the series. All they have to do is follow the lead of the original...and I LOVED BBC series. I even bought the box set years ago. I was skeptical that the U.S. version would turn out good but it did. It would be a shame if they don't give it a finale. And wasn't Ian Richardson one of the most icy cold villains you loved to hate in a long time? lol In more recent years, I found his female equivalent in Glenn Close on Damages. nod

Dustin is 80 yrs old

And from the read he apologized about his behaviour a long time ago.

The woman also said " I love the attention from Dustin Hoffman, until I didn't"
"No one is 100 percent good or bad. Dustin's a pig but I like him alot."

This is an adult conversation.

You are trivilizing it by saying 'they are asking for it'

no one is saying that.
The talk was in connection to post #64

For those who haven't had "the conversation" with their sons, start early and repeat often.

1. Sex is like boxing, if one party has not agreed--it is a crime.

2. Age of consent! Card your potential consenual sexual partner as if you were serving alcohol.

I added #3 directed to boys and girls

Do not go into the bedroom or sit/lay on the bed of the person you might be interested in.

Kids and youth HELL even Adults don't seem to understand things when the pheromones are in the air. Anyone who cannot have these talks better not have kids. You help youth and anyone make wise choices in this very adult world of sex. Hell how many grown ass women still trust a man when he says he had no diseases, or how many men trust a woman when she says she's on the pill. And this is part of the reason we have so many unwanted children born into situations that are not favorable to a successful life. Adults, so you know people have to talk to children and teens. TEENS start having sex at very early ages, earlier than a lot of parents want to acknowledge.

Knowledge is power. And being sensitive and offended by real talk doesn't help kids or adults in situations where they can avoid things.

It begins and end with you the same way all the time.
.
First you post passively aggressive. Instead of replying to who you are, you make a general posts with no person your are replying to, and expect them to figure it out.

.
And you always start out saying 'you have some kind of problem with me or whoever' just like you did here. Yet you continue to respond to me directly or indirectly (via cosigning someone who replied to my post and said what you sorta wanted to say)

.

now after saying all that. My post was not to you directly it was to people in general who are iffy about these discussions. Except the part where I directly address what you said:

You are trivilizing it by saying 'they are asking for it'. When you said we/I am saying 'they are asking for it' that is extremely accusatory and narrowminded.

.

But if the shoe fits and it disturbs you, then good. Because people need to think about this stuff, because right now someone is in the middle of date rape, and their parents were to iffy to talk to them about reality of sex. Guess what?? No women/girls cannot just go anywhere and everywhere and think they'll be safe any time of day or night. That is the reality. It doesn't mean anyone is asking for it, but we live in a world where parents molest their own children, we live in a world where someone with no history of crime or violence murders someone, we live in a world where their is wickedness in humanity.

.

As the old folk used to say "Keep the door open"

What's frustrating is the things you may tell your daughters to protect them because all the laws and going to jail doesn't unviolate her, but anyway, it doesn't occur to you to tell your sons. So they walk into all situations based on how someone else preceives their free feeling behavior.

100% correct. Forever girls were taught restrictions and boys let loose.

And then take into account ethnic culture, where in some people are more 'conservative' and vanilla and others or more sensual and physically sexually expressive. Like if you look at Italian Spanish Latino cultures-communities, their expressions won't be the same as WASP communities or such

And some of these cultures the women will cope a feel too

It's all according to script.

Someone no one is shocked about gets harrassment claims thrown at them...

30 year old claim comes to the surface...

50 million claims follow...

Perpetrator seeks treatment...

I'm suspect of all of it honestly.

While sexual harrassment is no joke, some of these allegations are laughable; Tony Montana got PTSD IN HIS 30s because Spacey grabbed his crotch in a bar?!! Are you kidding me?!! If I had freaked out over all the times I was sexually harrassed BEFORE I was 30 they would have had to put me in a looney bin. rolleyes Ask any waitress in a roadside diner what sexual harrassment really is. confused

I don't know, I see both sides. Girls can at least talk about it with friends and get sympathy and confirmation, boys have to remain hush hush about it or be labelled and teased. Then there's the other hand where embellishment happens so again I don't know. Things flow in steps, I grew up in the generation where it was be careful of strangers, my kids grew up in an environment that nobody had rights to put their hands on their body not even mom, now people feel freer about speaking out about their experiences.

Good Point.

I think a lot of parents consider talking with their sons about how to protect themselves and speak up.I think its important to speak with men in general about protecting themselves. I just had this talk with a nephew. Typical guy... "Oh I can handle myself." I had to remind him guys/men disappear everyday on the streets of the US... never to be heard from again. I betcha they thought they could and would be able handle themselves too.
