Born Free is an American adventure/drama series based on the 1966 movie of the same name. It aired on the NBC television network from September 9 to December 30, 1974 produced by Columbia Pictures Television and starring and narrated by Diana Muldaur.

Gary Collins stars as George Adamson and Diana Muldaur portrayed Joy Adamson. The couple lived in Kenya with their adopted lioness Elsa, where they protected the animals in the surrounding area from all sorts of danger, both natural and human.

I probably watched that one and then got it mixed up with the movie in my not-so-hot memory. I sure did love the movies and used to sing the song all the time. I can still remember the lyrics, if not the TV series.

Seemed like it was on longer than 3 months, a year or 2 at least I thought. I don't remember ever seeing the movie but I remember that born free song and some of the show.

The PBS series on Joy and George Adamson is the best. They were truly committed to trying to preserve and keep lions free for as long as they could.
