Rondo to the Bulls - 2 years, $28 mil. Interesting.

The numbers on these contracts are outrageous - most of these cats aren't even superstars.

Salary cap driven numbers. Some team offered delevadova $30 million. Talk about SCRUBS.

Durant to Golden State - 2 years, $54.3 mil. I wonder if the fans and media will give him the LeBron treatment?

Not really, because he didn't put on a TV special to announce his departure from a home town team.

This, in my opinion, can go either way: the Warriors gel like the Big Three did in Boston; or, they take
one year to gel and then win like the Big Three in South Beach. Anyways, I think this is a mistake:
there are not enough balls to go around for another spot up shooter. The Warriors don't need Durant's
length, imo. They need muscle on the inside who can bang when Curry and Thompson are off and
can protect the rim better than Slow-gut.

OKC was this close to the finals, so I'm shocked Durant left. But this "championship chasing" has been going on for decades. Moses Malone, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, Gary Payton, etc., all did the same shit.

Yea OKC were very close, but GSW were a huge blockade in their road to the NBA Finals. I wonder where this leaves Russell? Does he demand a trade now or do they placate him by recruiting or promising to recruit a future free agent. Otherwise soon as his FA options are available unless he stays loyal I think Russ will move on too. As for destinations, I think he'd have the pick of all the top teams interested in him.

Shit, teams will beat a path to Westbrook's door. Phil Jackson, get him in NY by any means necessary! But I have a feeling he'll wind up with the Lakers.

OKC's run is over. Sad to see it end, but they had their chance and let it slip away.

Noah is a SCRUB. This guy is overrated in every way possible. Good luck with is 4 paoints agame, 4 turovers and 10 missed layups.

Well, I have to give Phil credit for getting Courtney Lee. At least he did something right. Rose didn't cost us much, but the Noah makes no sense - 4 years/$72 mil.....wtf was Jackson thinking?

Man all these clowns getting undeserved money but if teams are willing
to give away free market money then get it. DeAngelo Williams tweeted advice to
Nate Robinson when he tried out for football. Sit and watch the professionals
play football and go on and get your money from the NBA. Nate is better than half these clowns getting hood rich for free.

He will but to a much lesser extent. There are already some folks saying they
lost respect for him due to the fact he joined the team that beat him. I don't have a problem with it as he was a free agent to sign where he wants but I'm interested to see if he catch nearly the same flack as LeBron which he is still getting grief for today. Nevermind the shit was 5 or 6 years ago.
What the fuck were the Lakers thinking giving a barely used 3 pets a game avg
center ridiculous money.

I had enough of Nate Robinson's clown act when he was a Knick. You can have him. There's a reason why that fool can't stay with a team.

Yes he is a jackass at times but the dude has heart and is a good quality backup
at the point. Did you see him give the Heat hell in the postseason and the
regular season for that matter LeBron last year with the Heat. They actually stole
the opening game in Miami without Rose. Nate was always jacked to play the Heat
that season and gave them fits.

this season depending on who's coaching and staying healthy. Basketball is back

Yes thats true. I'm wondering could the Knicks accommodate Russell's contract when they already have Melo, Rose and Noah?. Said this in the KD topic but there's talk of Westbrook to Cleveland. I think Westbrook to the Lakers rumor has much more traction as theres talk of a trade with D'Angelo Russell. But if Westbrook wants to move to a team in search of a ring, then I'd imagine the Cavs is a better choice.

As a Laker fan, I am wary of having yet another guy who needs the ball at all times be the face of the franchise, but the Buss FO is desperate and it's on the clock. Westbrook would make the team significantly better but I fear that his need for the ball at all times could hamper the development of promising players like Clarkson, Nance and now Ingram.

Hornacek is an upgrade over Fisher (one of my favorite Lakers ever).

With Jennings, does Rose move to a more natural shooting guard position?

They'll definitely be one of the biggest curiosities next season.

Yea the Lakers desperately need to bring in a new franchise player right now to right the ship. Ingram was a good pick up but it's too much to place the franchise tag on a rookie. Russ would be a fantastic addition but Brandon Ingram would have to play backup PG which further validates your point about hampering progress. Deng being a Laker is an interesting move and he's much more of a team player so he might gel well with the younger players. But if the Lakers want to build a new dynasty you need an elite level player as a building block. I wonder if D Wade has spoke to LA as I think he'd be a great addition and the Lakers might have the cap space available to bring him in. Something I was thinking about whilst writing this was the Chris Paul trade which was vetoed. Kobe and Chris on the same team would have guaranteed a championship. I think the NBA owned the Hornet's at the time which is why they didn't let Paul move to LA.

http://espn.go.com/los-an...s-paul-off

Wonder how this would have changed things and I think Phil would have stayed coaching a little longer with Bryant and Paul on the same team.

Courtney Lee will start in the backcourt with Rose. Jennings will back up Rose at the point. I expect Jennings to get a lot of playing time because Rose is injury-prone.

Deng?

They have to fill out the roster AND spend above the cap floor.

Deng was a good signing . . . in 2009, when LA (and Kobe) really wanted him.

The best I can hope for is that he can help the young players through their growing pains.

Why do we keep pretending Rose is a 1? He's a 2. Come to think of it, the same could be said for Jennings. Lee should play the 1, he can distribute, is a smart player and doesn't need to score the ball.

Another one has bitten the dust....Leandro Barbosa has left GSW and signed for $8 million returning to the Phoenix Suns. sad I sure hate to see him go. I love LB...shucks if it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have won some of our most critical games. Much luck to him.

Barbosa was another unsung hero for the GSW but I guess they need to make moves to absorb KDs contract.

Sports Illustrated have an interesting article about potential moves for Russell Westbrook and for some reason the one I like the best to Russ to the T Wolves. They have Thibs as coach and a promising young team. They'd have to make Rubio a backup PG though or trade him or have Dunn as backup. Another scenario I like is Westbrook to the Spurs with Tony as backup PG/6th man. But these are more fantasy scenarios and I somehow think Westbrook stays with OKC and exercises his free agency options next season, meaning additional cap space for teams and more options.

Agreed. He's had a nice career, was a good contributor off the bench, and had some stretches kept GS afloat in the WCF elimination games.
