to sum up, another reason to quit facefool this year is because your data can, and will, be used against you. by agreeing to faceblug's 'privacy policy' you voluntarily sign away your constitutionally guaranteed privacy rights. if that's okay with you - carry on! your fifteen seconds of fame will be worth it, no doubt. smile

Ummm, yeah - that's what "debunked" means. But it wasn't debunked just because I spoke. It was debunked because I analyzed, researched, and proved that the claims made in the P&R thread were erroneous.

Threads, as you know, are open to any and all. If Tony and Carrie want a private conversation, that's what Orgnotes are for.

Try saying THAT^ to President Bush who signed the Patriot Act & President Obama who signed the National Defense Authoritization Act (NDAA). Both federal laws are the reason why and how it became OK of governmental agencies to know what's being said/shown on Facebook. rolleyes

Exactly how is this so-called interest vested?

Clearly you guys are referring to me but don't have the...whatever...to actually say it. Which is cool and BTW, I have no problem if anyone wants to call me anything. Feel free to use my name in any way you wish.

Back to the subject. If I have a "vested" interest in "preventing open discussion", what am I getting in return for allegedly preventing this open discussion?

And exactly HOW am I preventing any open discussion? TonyVanDam's insinuations last year to the contrary, I don't have any power over you guys. I'm not a mod and therefore can't snip your posts. I'm not magic and therefore can't cast spells on you with various handsigns that would somehow affect you. I can't do anything to you except post that I disagree with you, and why I disagree.

If that is preventing anyone from having an open discussion, then all I can say is "Wow".

You know, over in P&R, God, Christianity and all other religions get it really good. The atheists have absolutely no problem saying in plain and clear language what they think about God, Jesus, or anything else religious. And yet we have religious threads that go on for pages and pages - despite comments that are far worse to a person of faith than anything posted here.

Perhaps you guys should take notice of that, and not get upset when you are disagreed with.

Who is "you guys"?

Number one, I said what I had to say directly to you and was done with it so just because somebody happens to quote me, do not continue to insert me into your back and forth.

Secondly, part of the problem is when you bring your baggage from other threads all over the forum by saying, you already "debunked" someone's comments on some other thread way back when. That was the only thing I commented on, so don't try to invent things I never said.

Perhaps you should take notice of the fact that no atheist has ever, not even once followed you around from thread to thread, bringing up past discussions just to ridicule you for your beliefs even though they might feel that your religion is every bit as silly as you seem to think so called conspiracy theories are.

The difference is they don't follow you around or bring baggage from other threads to clown you. Surely a Christian can be just as respectful as a non believer???

"You guys" is XxAxX, Graycap and TonyVanDam - at least, on this thread. You are correct - you had the decency to actually address me directly and I appreciate it. XxAxX also addressed me directly in other comments (although not the one I had quoted) so the "You guys" can be narrowed down to Graycap and Tony, for the most part.

I get where you're coming from but this isn't about faith. It's about facts. How many of Graycap's threads have been proven bogus? Countless numbers, and you can't really disagree with that. Sure, not everything he posts is non-fact-based and if you ever bother to check, you'll see that I post on less than half the threads he starts.

If he or Tony or whomever re-visits a topic that's already been discussed, I or anyone else can certainly respond. In other words, every time Tony or Graycap or whomever wants to assert that the Rothschilds control almost all the world's central banks, I'm going to point out that's wrong and not supported by any facts.

In other words, Graycap/Tony/etc don't get to repeat all their claims and be exempt from responses.

Did XxAxX ask you to deflect on her account, or is that something you just like to do on your own?

Hopefully it's the latter, because I'd really like to know: who she was referring to; exactly how one can be "vested"; and how one can prevent the discussion of a topic.

I know Tony thinks I'm a disinformation agent working for either the CIA, NSA, the Illuminati, or the Goat People. That's preposterous, of course.

More baggage.... blahblah

Once again, the only thing I am talking about is that there is no need to bring up disputes from old threads of the past or recruit Carrie in order to make your points. I have zero problem with you disagreeing with anybody, knock yourself out, but we can all read for ourselves.

I'm not getting dragged into the rest of that.

Anybody who hasn't seen the Citizen Four documentary should do so immediately. It's available On Demand on HBO right now. And that's just a small tip of the iceberg. Our civil liberties are done and gone and they aren't coming back. The only choice you have in the matter is your occasional power to choose who makes money on your back. Facebook has never been and will never be a part of my life for that very reason. How is the creator of Facebook worth billions or dollars? Wake up people.

I love facebook. It helps keeping in regular contact with old friends and distant family.

I'm fully aware of the data implications (it part of my job), but I'm also careful what I post and what I share.

Sure its an advertising vehicle, but I block them all. It's naive to think that Facebook is any better or worse if someone wants to find out about you. Email, online banking, electoral registers, company databases. Its all available if you know where to find it.

Generally, you either have to be online or offline.

I could find out far more about you even without Facebook that you dreamed possible.

Have you consider Facebook alternatives? John B. Wells co-founded one called Seen.is:

And within the FOSS (free open source software) community, there is also Diaspora:
