I was impressed with how much footage from the war was available to use. Very good documentary.

I will definitely watch this, since right now I'm reading a Vietnam War book and i'm on the 1973-75 events chapter...

Timbuktu (2014) - A cattle herder and his family who reside in the dunes of Timbuktu find their quiet lives -- which are typically free of the Jihadists determined to control their faith -- abruptly disturbed.

It looks beautiful--filmed very nicely in the Mauritanian desert. 1/2

The Imitation Game. Good movie, but not award worthy.

Finally saw "Divergent". I liked it better than I thought I would. Fell completely in love with Theo James. Looking forward to the sequel "Insurgent" being released in March.

Virunga (2014) - A group of brave individuals risk their lives to save the last of the world's mountain gorillas; in the midst of renewed civil war and a scramble for Congo's natural resources.

European corporations mining Africa's natural resources for profit and destroying habitats in the process. No surprise there. 1/2

Mr. Turner (2014) - An exploration of the last quarter century of the great, if eccentric, British painter J.M.W. Turner's life.

After getting used to the pacing (it was a bit slow even for me), I found it ultimately rewarding.

Byzantium.

Shit awful.

The Judge (2014) - Big city lawyer Hank Palmer returns to his childhood home where his father, the town's judge, is suspected of murder. Hank sets out to discover the truth and, along the way, reconnects with his estranged family.

Conventional courtroom drama--it was nice, but nothing remarkable.

Chinatown (1974) - A private detective hired to expose an adulterer finds himself caught up in a web of deceit, corruption and murder.

This was my first time seeing this movie--many twists I didn't expect. 1/2

Selma (2014) - A chronicle of Martin Luther King's campaign to secure equal voting rights via an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in 1965.

Excellent. 1/2
