So women are apparently in thrall of the fact that good looking men are caught reading actual books in public, and have decided to photostalk said men and put them on blast on Instagram.

I guess this is something. I mean good looking people don't have to, and therefore don't, read much of anything. Looks gloss over a multitude of sins.

So this is cute, but is it just too silly for words, or a cause for celebration?

My point was that most good looking people can get away with being vapid dicks and people are still enamored of them. Who cares if they're intelligent or read?

Yeah I know it looks like he's struggling for thought there but I think the whole reason for this blowing up like it has is the perception that hot people aren't well read. Why else?

Because if people see the so called "hot" people reading then everybody who wants to look hot will start reading...

Same reason they used to put a cigarette in the hands of hot people back in the day. A lot of people are too young to remember but cigs were all over the media back then and it greatly increased sales.

Many people just follow trends, good or bad. At least this could be a good one.

I live in a college town where there are several thousand guys who look just like that. He's nothing special.

All that's going to happen is just what you said. Guys are gonna put on the uniform, do a book haul from Barnes and Noble, catch the train and wait for the magic to happen.
