I'd be interested to know what the wide spread of different people we have here on the org use for their cellular connectivity needs

I currently use a Google Nexus 5 running Android 5.0 Lollipop

Samsung Galaxy S4... More phone than I could ever ask for... had it for 2yrs. now...

I have the iphone 5 and I love it.I'm gonna wait awhile before I upgrade to the iphone 6.

Actually those are my current phones. I have a govt phone and T-moblies 4 lines for $100 - (sharing with someone else).


Used to have this before smart phones came along... I went through 2 of them that lasted for years. They all used this phone on Criminal Minds.



Before that I had...




And before that, the first phone I had was from Primeco 1997 ish... "Prime-who? "


I didn't change phones too often because I liked the phones that I had. Shopped around before I bought them, and then stuck with it. Except for now, I just bought them because I needed a phone. Oh wait, I forgot. After the Treo, I had another phone on loaner from my sister's old phone that I used for a couple of years that looked somthing like this...

I actually had an endorsement deal with Danger (company who made the Sidekicks) when the Slide came out... they gave it to me for free to use in a music video

Prior to that, I rocked with this bad boy for two or three years (2004-2007) or so.....until he met a watery grave

After the Sidekick, I've been messing with Android since literally Day 1! 2008 when the T-Mobile G1 came out.

After that it was a G2:

And then a Galaxy S2:

and then a Nexus 4:

The worst cell phone I ever had was the Motorola flip phone I posted earlier. The volume on the phone sucked and I always had to use a blue tooth ear piece to really hear the person on the other line. I never really had an issue with any of my Blackberry's and when the iPhone first came out, I was one of those bashers, not really understanding the hype about them. My curiosity got the best of me when the iPhone 4 came out and so I thought I would take a chance....so glad I did, it's been the best cell phone I've had. Having it for 4 years straight without any interest of upgrading it until now is a big deal in my world.

Them thangs were horribly! My husband bought our kid one when she was in high school all you ever heard was garble and static. Somebody over at Motorola shoud have been arrested for consumer fraud.

iPhone 5s that stays in my car at all times for emergencies. Email me, I avoid the phone.

I ordered a rubbery grippy cover for it because I'm paranoid I'll drop it, it's so slippery! It's bigger that's for sure. I'm still carrying around the old phone though lol I'm attached to it

Just a couple hours ago I bought a Samsung Galaxy S5. The only other one I was considering was the LG G3, they both cost $1 and have 5"+ screens but I chose the Galaxy because of the better battery life and waterproof feature and better pictures & video. I also wasn't confident I'd adjust to the LG's power and volume buttons located back center.

Funny Pokeno because I went with the LG G3 because of the buttons in the back! Also, the promo running a few months ago when I got mine was an extra battery... The screens clarity is awesome

The G3 is phenomenal. I like the design and screen better than the S5, but the S5 balances it out with the better camera and the waterproofing. It's a very tough call between those two - I think they are both in the Top 5 Android phones right now (along with the Nexus 6, Sony Z3 and Note 4).

The extra battery was the kicker for me... The S5 offered no promo..

Waterproofing is a great feature, but not something Ive been worried about.. Now watch.. I will drop my phone in the sink.. :/

My primary concern about the back buttons was that, knowing me, every time I reached for the volume or power buttons I'd probably wind up pushing the camera lense. If the buttons were farther away from the lense I'd be more comfortable with it.

Really it was a VERY difficult decision for me. I really liked the extra approx half inch bigger screen on the LG, and the LG camera is the best when it comes to taking indoor pics which I do often. The LG's laser autofocus is great, and of course nobody can beat the clarity of the screen with the 538 pixels per inch ... but the downside of all those pixels is the huge drag on the battery, and for me battery life is THE most important thing (if the Turbo was $1 I'd definitely get that instead). That's also why another selling point of the Galaxy, the Ultra Power Saving Mode, was particularly appealing to me. Can you tell I read hundreds of reviews?

Honestly tho, I was leaning towards the other, It had better sound imo..but the sales guy kept praising the laser focus.. The one thing I dont like AT ALL about this phone is the user to user voice clairity stuff.. He said it was amazing, I say it sucks.. My daughter and husband have the same phones..

But, overall, Im happy with it..

I've never bought myself a cellphone. EVER.



I've purchased many cellphones of course...for my ex, for my kids...but I was always either at work, at home, or in between. So never really had the need for one until my job issued me this bad boy about 6 years ago;


Then they upgraded;




Then Nextel went away (and we got tired of having to reboot the phones every other day) so they went Android





(Pantech sucked) ....& finally they drank the Koolaid and I've had the 5S for a year now...



It's cool. I'm happy.

If I had to pay for my own phone, I think that I would get the HTC ONE M8.
It's waterproof and shock-proof right out of the box. No need for an expensive (and ugly) protective case.
