Started with early nokias, then walkman phones, then blackberry, then iphones, then Samsung Galaxy.... finally arrived at Lumia 930, which in all the years, is but far the most impressive of its given era. Stunning bit of tech.

@SquirrelMeat

Do you have the wireless charger? It comes with it in the box, right?

I just spent £30 on a Nexus Wireless charger, since I have the Nexus 7 tablet as well as the Nexus 5 phone. It's very convenient to just sit the phone and tablet on the charger rather than fiddling around with the cable all the time.

what do you think?

i can't believe they're still hard to get

i'm liking mine... the size/bending thing is something i'm concious of though

I ordered a rubbery grippy cover for it because I'm paranoid I'll drop it, it's so slippery! It's bigger that's for sure. I'm still carrying around the old phone though lol I'm attached to it

I buckled and got the 6 instead of the 6 plus. 6 plus is too big for me. I hate android phones so there really was no other option for me.

I hate Apple phones, but luckily there's a choice of at least a dozen awesome Android phones.

I've got my eye on the new Nexus 6.

First ever phone. Brother-in-law's girlfriend (now ex) stole it. lol

I didn't replace it until 3 or 4 years later when I got this i-mobile one that looked like it had lots of features but basically did nothing.

I lost it. Three years later my lovely friend Val gave me her iPhone 3s, which I'm currently using. My first ever smartphone!

MY COUSIN WORKS IN A PHARMACY AND SHE SAID THEY ENEMA'D PRANCE INTO OBLIVION WITH FENTONILS!!

i have the 6+ its my first ever iphone...

I had sidekicks - looooooved them but once they got rid of the buttons it was less inuitive so i went to the samsungs until I just switched to the iphone.

ive been on t-mobile for over 10 years, and now that im in costa rica i have an unlocked iphone and i can still use my t-mobile. its amazingly cheap and actually better call quality than i had in the usa...

the iphone 6+ the camera is bonkers and i use it to shoot videos for my website.

the cameras/editing/processing ability of my ipad/iphone/macbook made my video camera - desktop and a whole slew of other video equipment obsolete. when i moved from nyc i downsized my entire production workflow into 3 apple devices one tripod and a wireless mic. its amazing.

Wow, that's so cool that you streamlined your devices for that. Since getting my LG and Samsung androids, I've been trying to find clouds and stuff to store all my pictures and videos. Mostly any cloud and drive storages can store all my documents, photos, and videos. But I would like a service where I can store my music and still access them without having to download it on my phone storage. It's too bad that Spotify and iHeartRadio doesn't allow me to have storage space there, I would download all my stuff there and would get to listen to them for free from Tmobile.

i just got the apple cloud drive...im trying to understand it tho...i know stuff is backed up there, but i cant really see pictures or music in it.

and i also have my dropbox set up to upload all my pictures as a backup/backup of my backup lololol

i love dropbox though it worked great with my android. and its inuitive - it works in the way you expect it to, meaning i dont need tolearn a new 'way' of thinking about it.

i have google drive but find it weird and clunky and not so easy to use/see folders or access everywhere.

I also don't have a cell phone.

But, I'm rethinking it. Maybe I'll buy myself one from the Hema.

Pro

I think it's handy to be able to contact folks when I'm out. Now, I only have a home phone. When somebody is late, or wants to change the appointment, it's easy to have a cell phone.

Pro

When something happens, an accident or fight or a cop is unloading is his gun into a black guy or whatever, you can video it with your phone. Now, I sometimes feel like making a pic, but I can't.

Con

On the other hand, I don't like the fact that the government is tracking everybody by their cell phones. It's not that I do illegal stuf, but the idea that the government tracks all my moves just does not feel very safe to me.

Con

Now, when I'm out, I'm out. I can't be reached. It's nice. I can relax.

Con

If I get a phone, I will be checking my mail, fb or other things. It distracts me from what I'm doing.

Pro

If I get a phone, I can check my mail watch a video or listen to music when I'm in the train or bus.

Con

The constant focus on the phone. I truly despise folks who focus on their phone while in company. I know I will not do that, but it's just something that makes me hate cell phones.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

What you need is Google Play Music.

It allows you to upload 20,000 songs from your personal library, for free, which you can then stream and access anywhere, from any device or browser!

I does come with the wireless charge plate. I also bought a wireless charging Fatboy pillow, so I can have one at home and one and work.

I swapped my ipad for a nexus 7 and I love it (I think Windows is the best OS for phones, but not so for tablets).

Like you mentioned, I had been using Google Play for the 20,000 free song storage, but recently I migrated them to the MS onedrive (which is integrated on the win phone), as they gave me 5TB free storage for taking Office 365 on my imac.

Now that I have 5TB, I have all my music, video and photos stored for free in one place, with a native app available for Window, OS and Android. Its bliss. All my stuff at hand regardless of device, so I can pick the best device, rather than have to stay in one eco system.

Fortunately, I have unlimited data too (giff gaff network) biggrin

Ugh, my LG wasn't working right. It wasn't all that bad but I randomly went into the Tmobile store and asked questions and was plannning to get another Samsung phone to replace my Lg. It was $235, and I was seriously considering it although I didn't like that it looked a bit weird compared to the LG and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (or whatever) and was gonna get it anyway. But then I saw this monster, ZTE ZMAX with a 5.7" screen and inquired about that one. It wasn't too bad and the ram was 2G, with storage 16G, much more than my LG. The LG only had something like 155mb ram, that's why it kept freezing and running out of space no matter how many qpps I kept deleting. This new clunker will take getting used to but I think I could work it. Although I do not know how to get rid of the extra pages, it's not like the others where you pinch inwards and you can manage the homepages. That's quite irritating but I guess I'll have to overlook it. The ZMAX was $260, and my LG had a trade in value of $99, so basically I only owe $160 more.

Funny, I was eating at a Korean restaurant this evening and the server saw my phone and we started taling about phones. She said the best camera was the Samsung. Everybody she compared photos with (they all took the same shots with different cameras), Samsung came out the best. Also, her daughter had an iPhone and they compared the pictures and her daughter ended up buying a Samsung because of that. I dont' know how my ZTE photos are but it was at least an 8 megapixel.

Ur right on that. I overlooked it even when it comes on most all android phones that I saw. I didn't know about that feature, just thought it was selling music to me. Now I know.

Does anyone know if the Galaxy note 2 is worth $200?

A friend of mine wants to sell his for $200 dollars (no contract),

and it's never been used because immediately after he bought

it for his girlfriend, her father bought her an iPhone 5s, which

she prefers.

I don't want to spend $500 or $600 dollars on a phone, and

I can't be locked down to a contract because I travel so much.

Is $200 worth it for a Galaxy Note 2?

Best camera's I've seen on phones are the Sony Z3, Samsung Note 4, and the new Nexus 6.

The camera is pretty good on my Nexus 5, but not as good as those mentioned above.

OK, nevemind.
Had a chance to see a 6plus, so I'll go with an iPhone.
I'm already in the Apple ecosystem anyways. I figure

with size of the thing, I can use it as a tablet if need be.
