Yeah, Sal played her according to the textbook----only married two years, demands spousal support and full custody of their child on the way....and that means child support for him too! How did he pull that off in such a short time? He must have had her on his radar from day one.

.

AW I thought Sherri was sincere about the dude. And he did really go textbook in retrospect (the only way to find out it seems). I also didn't know her child was special needs like that or that her child's father was special needs as well. Must be hard on her back hauling all them balls around... I feel for Sherri. Lost yo' man, lost your job... sounds like the makings of the blues.

^As thristy and oversexed as Sherri comes off, not surprising that she would be easily conned.

Tell me about it. It's bad enough that TV makes black women out to be oversexed BUT there's the opposite stereotype as well: the unattractive, loud black woman. I think the reason SOME stay single for eternity is that they don't open themselves up to fall in love with anything but a black man who claims he's a Christian. I hear Cheryl Underwood talk about her lack of a man so much on The Talk that she's starting to remind me of Sherri in some regard but Cheryl is still WAY smarter than Sherri!

In some ways, I think Sherri's "success" was because she fit some of those stereotypes that some people feel comfortable with. For everyone else, it was making us all cringe....Her oversized and drastically different weaves from one day to the next didn't help either. How the hell does she have blonde, curly hair one day and then jet black hair down her back the next?

Yeah she's going through a lot. But this 2nd husband seems like a piece of work. He's trying to get rid of her and get his check before the kid arrives! What a hustler!

how does one get played like that? i cant understand. if youve had some experience, if youve been married before you should be a tad more seasoned, less desperate. Sherrie strikes me as very easy to lay. someone on here used the word oversexed and i agree. But I hope shes able to win in court over Ol Sal. Hes pretty bold and looks like he has the stronger case with the unborn child.

I used oversexed a few posts ago smile She kinda passes off as the stereotypical "extremely religious and extremely undateable"....not because of her religion but because of her entire presentation she turns a lot of people off. But, she's not threatening (unless she's calling out Woody Allen).....

Sherri is that kind of person that people might associate with to make themselves feel better. Jenny McCarthy was dead wrong for going on twitter and pretending like she quit because Sherri is leaving but Jenny was already fired.

I wonder how Sherri got roped in by her second husband. I read somewhere that at one point he just slept all day and spent her money.

I was very surprised to learn that Sherri & Jenny got the ax...i think they were too...I DVR'ed last Friday'sshow just to see if they would acknowledge their firing on air and they pretend like everything was fine. I Follow Sherri on Twitter and she sorta talked out of both sides of her mouth. She said they learned Wed or Thursday night that their contracts were not going to be renewed BUT that she felt it was time for her to go and she praised Babs. I don't believe she believes that..I Love Jenny and unfortunate for her she only gets those 1yr Gigs...I say FIRE Sherri and KEEP Jenny.... Bill Geddy got let go as well...ABC released a statement saying they'regoing in a NEW direction next season and I'm guessing we'll se a Panel of 5 that includes one Black Guy & one White guy....They're gonna add at least one or more Guys...TJ Holmes & Terry Crews have my votes but if I have to choose between the two I'd def go with TJ Holmes...Whoopi has to stay because she's a Great Moderator, tries to be as Real as the Censors will permit her to be, and her Facial expressions are worth Gold..She's Funny, Wise and a Super-Star...She'll be the ONLY 60something on the panel...I bet the other 4 people will be 20's to 50's....

ABC did kind of a bizarre move. They taped the Friday show on Wednesday even though they normally tape the Friday show on Thursdays. Then, they made the announcement on Thursday that the two were getting dropped. That's bizarre because most of the time, news like that which is potentially embarassing for the network (due to their sinking ratings) to announce something like that before Friday.

Now, it makes sense to me why Jenny was heavily promoting her book, she probably knew that she was going to get the axe dropped sooner than later.

Terry Crews is going to do Who Wants to be a Millionaire, replacing Cedric the Entertainer. I think I Ced a bit more but good luck to Terry!

They "have" to keep Whoopi because she's the only familiar face left and if she ever left they would lose the rest of their audience that is still hanging on despite the show going through rough times.

Jenny has a very apparent (or at least overwhelming) sort of inauthenticity that jumps off the page---even if she's being genuine. It's just hard to take her seriously sometimes, even when she knows what she's talking about. She's not very convincing and this is probably why she played the dumb blonde role for so long because she probably knew herself that she could never be a CNN anchor wink

Sherri has too much drama, and too much of everything else these days!

The latest shakeup at ABC’s “The View” – both Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy are out – has fans speculating on who will fill the vacant seats on the show’s ever-changing panel. But the latest rumor is that a familiar face may make a return to the ABC daytime chat fest. On Monday, Fox 411 reported that ABC executives are in the process of bringing the 52-year-old- comedian back to the show she famously left back in 2007 after a highly publicized on-air argument with fellow co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck.

A “well-placed insider” told Fox that network execs “really wanted Rosie back” and are “confident she has what it takes to add some controversy and drive the ratings up.”

Although she left "The View” seven years ago, O’Donnell has continued to be a part of the ABC family. She returned to “The View” as a guest last year, and also in May for the reunion of all of the co-hosts in honor of Barbara Walters’s retirement. This year the comedian also had a recurring role on the ABC Family series, “The Fosters,” playing the character Rita Hendricks.

As for “The View,” with the departure of Shepherd and McCarthy on the heels of founding member Barbara Walters’s retirement from the show, the panel will be all new, with the exception of longtime moderator Whoopi Goldberg.

In addition to the rumors about O’Donnell’s possible return, there’s talk that the long-running show could go in an entirely new direction with the addition of male co-hosts. The New York Times reported that the top male candidates – all previous “View” guest hosts -- are E! personality Ross Mathews, (his week of pre-taped episodes of the show are currently airing), football analyst Jesse Palmer, (an ABC alum, as he was a star of “The Bachelor”), and conservative talk show host Will Cain, whose previous appearance on the show created some buzz.

While ABC has already made a statement that “The View" will be moving in "an exciting new direction" next year, even Barbara Walters hinted that a man could someday sit on the panel. Earlier this year she told Extra,“‘The View’ is entering its 18th year… These women are wonderful, and I don't know, maybe, maybe we'll add a man… ah, what a thought. I think we'll try some different people, and I think it would be nice to add a man, stay tuned.”

Another year of Rosie screaming and Donald Trump doing interviews on every tabloid show just to bash Rosie. She can't tolerate conservative viewpoints on a lot of issues.

It annoys me that Jenny McCarthy is always wearing eyeglasses on the View and yet, I've never seen her wear them before. When she does her electronic cigarette commercial she isn't wearing them or any other time. It makes me feel that she wears them to look smarter. I know that sounds bitchy of me but I can only think about what Bret Easton Ellis said once in an interview about how a lot of actors, when wanting to look smart (like if they are giving a speach or a "serious" interview) they will wear glasses when many of them have dropped out of high school. I know that sounds really bitchy of me to say but every time I see her on the View in her glasses I think of that. Plus how she used to go on and on about not vacinating your kids and that her son was autistic because of being vaccinated and then it turned out her son wasn't even autistic! I just can't take her seriously.

It wasn't surprising that they let Sherri go. Sherri is trying to save face by saying she's decided to leave The View when we all know she negoitated for more money and ABC brass thought her pending divorce will be played out in the media we know its going to turn ugly and they didnt want that negative publicity surrounding the show. Jenny McCarthy to me was disposible never cared for her. I couldn't imagine her being on the panel during the next presidential campaign. That's what I miss about Elizabeth Hasselbeck though I didnt agree with all of her views but I did like the verbal sparring she had with Whoopi and Joy when it came to politics. Whoopi has definitely lost her star power you barely see any A-list celebrities appear on the show you know she's there for the paycheck and she's horrible as a moderator but those facaial expressions she makes when someone says something stupid.

I can see TJ Holmes as a host he's certainly handsome and smart and he needs to be off those cable stations. Rosie Perez would make a great panelist. I know this is a long shot but bring Star Jones back she does make a great commentator.

If they hire a man on the show, they should have him be a sort of moderator instead of Whoopi. Something about a deeper voice makes people listen much more than otherwise...if that make sense. If he's handsome, that's even better!

Yeah, he's very over the top. Not because he's gay but just because he's over the top. I think they are going to go the Will & Grace route with him. I find him entertaining but not sure he could really discuss serious issues without just toeing a typical liberal line....nothing wrong with a liberal line but it's boring to hear five people have the same opinion.

I do like the idea of Ross Matthews on The View. Yes, he is a bit... colorful. Nothing wrong with that, with Jay Leno he was constantly thrust into awkward situations at a somewhat young age where that is meant to contrast the "normalcy". His resilience and his ability to stay composed would be helpful on The View. On Chelsea Lately he was sorta playing the stereotypical role "somewhat unattractive, loud gay male" like Sherri and Jenny played their stereotypical roles on The View. I'd like to see the more serious side of Ross Matthews. I'd like to see him drop the Jack McFarlane-shtick SeventeenDayze mentioned, or at least harness it a bit better.

lol lol Old Babs is a gangbuster? LOL That's hilarious wink (and true, sadly!)

I think you're right, I think Barbara flexed her last-minute muscles and shook the deck. The show could use a man. Do you all remember when they tried to have an all-male version of the View? I think Mario Lopez was on the show. Don't remember what it was called but it was only on for one seasons.

TJ Holmes is easy on the eyes, so he'd be a good choice for that AND because he knows how to discuss current events without sounding like he's just echoing what everyone else has already said.

No one saw Sherri's firing coming, not even Sherri...ABC usually leaks shit before it happens and they kept it under-lock-&-key....I really believe they fired her @ the 11th hour and it left her shocked..Her Tweets prior to that were her "normal' and usual Tweets then BOOM...Barbara Walters is something else..We all know Old Lady Money Bags has the FINAL say on who stays and he has to pack their wigs....In a ways she's Dirty...LOL...She always telling those women how much she LOVES, loves, LOVES them so freaking much, then BOOM your ass is EJECTED....Bye, Bye..LOL...Old Babs is a Gangbuster...She cut her ties with you cold-Turkey.....I havent watched that Ross guy on the show but I've seen him on Bill Maher and other shows...His voice is too High and he talks like a woman...He would be the 5th Girl on the panel and having 4 Women is enough...Hire TJ Holmes...TJ will keep it real, be funny and professional and he'll be eye Candy for the Ladies...

I would definitely tuned in 5 days a week if he was hired. The View certainly needs to head in a new direction and putting a male on the panel would be a great addition. Besides noone is tuning in just to look at Whoopi. I can do without that Ross guy or Mario Cantone too annoying and not that funny.

I swear that Barbara Walters is a snake in the grass she knew all along Sherri and Jenny were getting the axe but of course she made it all about her retiring.Well I hope they give Sherri a show dedicated to her saying goodbye and reminisce thru flashbacks from her 7 seasons.

You know, I think your comment helped me put two and two together. Just a few days after the show, I was watching the credits and Barbara's name is still listed as an Executive Producer (along with another person's name) even a few WEEKS after she left, she was still listed as the Exec Producer. So, that just proves another point. She may have been "retiring" from being talent on the show but she's still considered executive producer and as you said, the snake in the grass that knew she was going to send Sherri and Jenny to the wolves. Most shows give the talent a chance to say goodbye or something, but not Barbara.

Someone on the thread speculated it may have been about the Woody Allen comments from the two of them that sealed their fate. I wouldn't be surprised if that had a lot to do with their firing because Lord knows there have been other women on the show who were just as or more annoying than Sherri and Jenny but they weren't fired after one season.

Trolls be gone!

Did Sherri & Jenny comment on the Family Fued that is going on between woody and his Son/MSNBC anchor Ronan Farrow? For years Sherri would say things that sorta rubbed Babs the wrong way..I know some don't believe this, but Sherri said things intentionally to hype up herself even if her comments were stupid...Some say she was being her true self and I say Sherri thought her schtick was entertaining..It worked for 7yrs but I don't think Babs ever cared for some of her antics...Sherri is a likable person but I saw Babs correct her "jokes" many times...that Frustrated Old Lady Money Bags...Didnt Sherri say she didnt know the Earth was round and tried to defend her argument?...LOL....Sherri thought that Shit was Funny but people dogged her out...LOL..
