NFL 2nd half thread Oh oh! The ish is about to hit the fan in Pittsburgh. According to the Nfl network media reports say that Big Ben is growing incredibly frustrated with the direction of the Steelers and may explore trade options. Great now the franchise qb is unhappy. That's what happens when you hire Mickey Mouse assistants to run schemes that don't fit the talent of your players. Tomlin looks lost. Todd Haley and Big Ben mix like oil and water. The front office just basically bought Haley in without much input from Big Ben and dumped Bruce Arians whom Ben was close to after going 12-4 the previous season . Stay tuned. Things may really implode in Pittsburgh. Will the front office stand behind Ben or Tomlin's staff? Don't laugh at my funk

I think Haley is a good coach but he does not fit with the Steelers and needs to go to another team. Well we beat the Bills.......................................... |

You know what I've noticed? The Bears play a tad harder for the "back-up" quarterback than the do for Mr. Culter. Yes, hate to admit this but I think its true. Along with the fact, the Detriot Lions were the better team today. Da Bears were once tied for first place, well that ended today.

Well Ben just said him wanting to be traded was B.S and wants to be a Steeler for life. |

The Houston Texans have been outscored 100 - 19 in the second half of games this year.
Wait - they literally just scored a touchdown. So now it's 100 - 26. |

Well Ben just said him wanting to be traded was B.S and wants to be a Steeler for life. Yeah I see Big Ben's agent clarified things during the game. I still don't think he cares for Haley's offense. It's like the front office hired him without any input from Ben or Tomlin because his dad worked for the Steelers for years as a scout. Well we will find out next week what the Steelers are made of. Detroit has proven today that they can win outdoors beyond October. Don't laugh at my funk

I think it would be unfair to dump Mike Tomlin after he brought the Steelers to two Super Bowls and even won one for the franchise but I could see them canning all of the assistants after this season, firing Todd Haley and convincing Dick LeBeau to retire. Granted, the Steelers aren't out of the playoff chase yet, but they still have to get on a good streak and get past their division rivals including Cleveland. (Whoda thunk that?)
As for my Bears, all the talk tomorrow will be about why they rushed Jay Cutler back onto the field. He looked okay in the first half, but he looked totally out of it in the second, and the play calling suffered as a result. The Bears had so many opportunities to put Detroit away early and blew them. And with Aaron Rogers out for at least two more weeks, the Packers are in bad shape, so Detroit could run away with the division.
As for the others, Carolina is for real with their defense, and as of today they're likely to take one of the two wild card spots if they don't win the division while the other wild card will go either to the 49ers or Seahawks. And congrats to Jacksonville for getting off the schnide and winning their first game this season.

Well when Tomlin won the superbowl against Arizona that was his 2nd year and that was still pretty much Cowhers team. |

Well after calming down after last week debacle I'm gonna see how the rest of
the season plays out. I saw some improvement from Mike Adams on the right side but
Beachum and Gilbert were awful most times. Like Huey stated if the front office decides to keep Tomlin they definitely have to get rid of Haley and LeBeau time to step down and I respect what he's done. It may be time for the Steelers FO to let
Tomlin run his Tampa 2 cover scheme. There are too many teams running the 3-4 scheme now. Time for a change on the defensive side of the ball. [Edited 11/11/13 8:00am]

phunkdaddy you should have had a "Samuel Adams". The Steelers organization will right the ship, unlike the teams in my city they don't get stuck at being at the bottom.
I didn't get a chance to finish my thoughts, my neighbor and I were doing some serious trash talkin'
Lions fan.
Mr. Cutler should not have been on field, he wasn't ready. Team first before putting the individual needs of a player in a contract year. I'll add also.... he hearing footsteps from the 2nd string quarterback. Do a compare contrast, you'll see Cutler shouldn't be handed a boat load of money, he's not a franchise quarterback. I know the Bears organization have been brain dead in their inability to pick talent at this position, but this isn't the guy either. |

I still agree with a lot of points from the article I posted on the other thread, (the article was two months old, not two years old). You're not going anywhere with this team.
Ben has been violently opposed to Haley from day one....he should have been gone already.
Tomlin doesn't need to go anywhere unless he wants to...and to answer your question before of why I brought up Chuck Noll in the other thread, it was to remind you guys that Noll was not a Hall of Fame coach he day he walked into Pittsburgh.
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise. |

Denver better hope Peyton can hold-up the next couple of weeks of the regular season.
Jerry Jones is fool, Dallas will never win anything as long as he believes he knows something about football.
Josh McCown has been named the starter for the next game... Da Bears. |

I'm damn sure pulling for the Bears sunday against the Ravens. What's up with
Brandon Marshall talking that ish about Detroit being the little brother who got fed
up and hit the big brother back. He also talked about Detroit playing dirty and hitting
Cutler after the whistle. If he's blaming Suh I can believe that. Suh has a track record.
This division will be interesting coming down the stretch. Don't laugh at my funk

Yeah it seems like Ed may have got cut for telling the truth about the Texans season
and game Sunday when he stated they got outplayed and outcoached and it seems
like interim coach Wade Phillips may have taken it to heart. As much as I dislike the
Ravens Ed Reed is one of those guys you respected. He is a true warrior and deserves
to retire as a Raven. Don't laugh at my funk

OK if the Steelers go 10-6 (and thats if) that means they would be 5-1 in the AFC North which could give them an edge as a wild card team |

The G-men win their fourth straight game. Granted, it was against the depleted Packers who are missing their star quarterback, star receivers, and star linebacker, but it's got to mean something, right? The Steelers also won today, getting into a three-way tie for second place in the AFC North thanks to my Bears beating the Ravens in overtime. Of course, some awful weather changed the course of the game, since the Ravens were up 10-0 before a line of hail storms moved in and caused a nearly two hour delay. After that, the field got really messed up, and the Bears got a second wind.
And don't overlook the Arizona Cardinals or Carolina Panthers either. They are creeping their way up the standings.

phunkdaddy must have put his "Lovie Root" in a tin can and buried in his yard because my Bears won.... after some hellish weather, still shivering.
DA Bears, da win!
I like Josh McCow, I've always have. The guy has presence and a clutch attitude under pressure. I've always admired athletes who even though are deemed the back-up, the bench player, or warmer... rises to the occasion when their number is called. Mr. McCow should have started last Sun but that water and a lose under the bridge. Yet, I can't let it go. |

Damn Lions are SO inconsistent. Just when I almost trust them. Winnable game today in Pittsburgh. Can't take them AND the Wolverines being so hoe-matic! smh |

Dude I'm team Steelers but nothing about that offensive line gives me hope that
that's going to happen. You won't beat many teams getting outscored 27-6 in
one quarter but let's give the Steelers and lady luck some credit because they
shut Calvin Johnson out(literally) and the Lions in the second half. Don't laugh at my funk
