It seems to me every-time one of these iOS overhauls occur, battery life gets worse, much worse. I never updated my iPod Touch 2g to 4.0.... whatever it was. So, I'm not sure if my iPad 2g or Touch 4g will be upgraded, I'll wait; I'll probably upgard for the Touch 5g and iPad 3g though.

I wonder if the iOS has a back door so the government can spy on us ?

Serioulsy, I started with the updating my computer and then I'll upgrade the iPod /iPad. Shorttrini how long does this take?

and I don't know about any new functionalities in iOS7 that are must-have

Having played with it all morning, (I'm using it now) I must say that everything seems to be running allot smoother than before. I have the Ipad 4 retina, and things just look a little brighter and seemed to be fully optimized, that they before. Battery life, does not seem to be an issue. I will keep an eye on it though.

okay, I admit I AM curious to try and play with it... but what if I don't like it? can I smoothly recover the old iOS from a backup..? very risky...

Only took my phone about an hour to update everything. Seems to work fine. Everything is just brighter as shorttrini said.

Absolutely needed it on my 4S - because I'm trading it in for a 5S this weekend.

Thank you missfee, I didn't see your response. I need to know because the last time I did an update, I walked away for a couple of hours and my iPod was still updating. Everything was gone... it took a couple of days to get my stuff back.

I love it. The dimensions are absolutely perfect - so easy to slip it into my purse.

And font sizes are something you can adjust - so that is never a worry, really.

The one negative thing I will say is that I don't care for it as a reader. The screen is too reflective to do long-term reading. I still use my non-backlit, matte screen nook for that unless I'm going to be someplace dark where I need a backlit screen (e.g. while I'm backstage killing time waiting to go on again). In that case, the reflectivity of the screen is not an issue because nothing reflects in the dark.

It might grow on me, but my first impression is that I don't like how it looks. It looks cheaper and the colors are too bright. And where there are not bright colors there are no colors. We'll see...

Don't choose the password option, its a pain, i was tired of punching in my code after 3 minutes . The icon / folders look like those sticky things Junior high school girly girls put on their folders / notebooks . The interface is brighter and I can see the icons much better, I'm getting use to it. I like the fact the apps can be organized on different pages within a folder. For the most part i like the radio interface, most of the permanent radio stations with exception of the Jazz, i'll never listen too.

Apple should have consider allowing you to creat you own station without their choices above, as Pandora does.

there's really no point, unless you want your shit to look slightly different.

Also, once I upgraded my phone, I couldn't hook it up to the computer until I upgraded iTunes, too.
