That´s a profound and very self-critical observation he´s making there and he´s right about brainwashing being a part of it but one should not underestimate the rules of biology as far as attraction is concerned. Many of us are slaves to our hormones or inner programming of who and what we are attracted to without any malice or intention of neglect behind it. However, there is beauty in every single one of us but sometimes it takes some effort to see beyond the surface. And it´s not just women who are overlooked. What Mr. Hoffman is saying here goes for men, too.
