best thing about raw last night ..PAUL HEYMAN!

tho the purist wrestling fan in me is happy about punk vs bryan for the tittle, something else inside me tells me they want this match 2 kill the YES chants

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Mayne, Raw absolutely SUCKED, minus Paul Heyman. He just gave almost everyone in that locker room a huge lesson in how to cut a promo.

What saddened me how was the lukewarm response he got when he came out there. It was a smattering of "ECW" chants and a few at ringside bowing at him, but that was it. These damn kids and stupid parents in the audience need to bone up on their history (and it's not like it's even 10-year old history) before they come to a show. Over The Limit will suck, just like it does every year.

i think also because it was in flair country, if Raw was in another territory he would have gotten a bigger pop when he came out. and over the limit is just a vehicle for Vince 2 prop up cena again.

We noted yesterday that Paul Heyman is with WWE through August's SummerSlam pay-per-view and will be representing Brock Lesnar. Heyman is being used as WWE has Lesnar signed for a limited number of dates.

One idea discussed was to have Lesnar "sue" WWE for breach of contract and money owed, playing off the actual legal battle the two sides had years ago. This angle would include all sorts of viral campaigns, something Heyman is experienced with, that would help get it over as a legitimate issue between WWE and Lesnar.

Heyman is not expected to go on the road full-time with WWE and at last word, he was only involved in the Lesnar storyline and not working WWE creative.

While one of the reasons Heyman has returned is to work with close friend Lesnar, word is that he also returned to potentially work with CM Punk down the line. Heyman has much respect for Punk and will work with him on the upcoming Punk DVD release.

Backstage reaction to Heyman at RAW on Monday was positive. He was warmly greeted by the younger talents as some of them knew him from their time in WWE developmental.

source: PWInsider

Even though it's only until Summerslam (when Brock and Trips will more than likely go at it), any time Heyman spends in the company is a positive. Lawd knows they need ALL the help they can get!!!!

Yeah, I guess if it was in a northeastern city or Chicago, the response would've been HUGE!

Paul Heyman wrote the following on Twitter about WWE Superstars Jimmy and Jey Uso:

"Amazing seeing @WWEusos ... remember, I haven't been around for half a decade ... The last time I saw these two, they were little kids doing splashes off the top rope in the Omni before the show when I managed their Dad. Yes, that makes me old, but I recognize TALENT. @WWEusos are talented. Time for these young Samoans to eat up the competition!"

- There was a ton of discussion within WWE about Triple H accompanying Floyd Mayweather to the ring last weekend in Las Vegas. Most of the talk came from the fact that CM Punk wasn't allowed to accompany UFC fighter Chael Sonnen to the octagon a few months ago in Chicago.

Part of the reason why Punk wasn't allowed to work the UFC show was because they felt nobody would acknowledge Punk as a cornerman and it would hurt Punk's perceived star power. Triple H accompanied Mayweather to the ring and outside of wrestling sites and WWE's own website, he didn't get much mainstream attention at all.

Tuesday Blog..Paul Heyman..ACE CRUSHER..JR/King to Houston..JR's Products Gluten FREE..FCW on You Tube

Beautiful day here in Norman, Oklahoma as we kick off today's random thoughts....

Watching Raw Monday Night from Greensboro was a touch nostalgic. I always wanted to be a part of some of those turn away crowds Jim Crockett Promotions used to have in the Coliseum there but I missed that era by a few years.

I'd guess that as many WWE HOF'ers have competed in the Greensboro Coliseum over the years as have performed in Madison Square Garden.

The ubiquitous EVP of talent relations and the GM of RAW and Smackdown has more villain angst than seemingly anyone on either WWE roster. The innovator of the 'Ace Crusher,' which most may be more familiar with as a version of the 'Diamond Cutter,' facing John Cena is a unique pairing.

....and to think that I can be blamed for all this insanity as it was me who hired John Laurinaitis to come to WWE as my assistant in talent relations when WCW went belly up....and, much like a soap opera, Handsome John 'fired' me in OKC in October 2011.

AW aka Abe Washington interests me. The dude can talk without question. Set your sights high AW...recruit those 'big dogs.'

I'd like to see all young, talents get more hungry and hellbent on getting noticed and in a positive way rather than be complacent or complain amongst themselves.

Chances of me responding to Tweets @JRsBBQ that are sent in a language other than English are slim to none. That is unless someone knows how I can easily interpret these languages on my IPad.

Paul Heyman's return to Raw Monday night was a pleasant surprise. Heyman's skills help add star power to the WWE's franchise broadcast and his role of representing Brock Lesnar is art imitating life to some degree.

Heyman's promo was effective because Paul wasn't playing a character that he did not 'feel' but instead was simply being himself...amplified. The promo was also 'money' because Heyman has a legit, emotional investment in the topic on which he addressed.

Bottom line is that all talents of the genre who are called upon to speak will do significantly better when being themselves rather than being someone that they aren't.

Finally, we're getting lots of questions on Heyman's WWE status and I have no idea if or when we will see Paul again in his Lesnar Rep role. I think that it would be entertaining as hell if Paul sat in with King and Cole for a match or two on Raw. Fireworks!!

Even though the TV persona of Heyman can be a boil on the buttocks of life, no one can ever deny that the lifelong fan doesn't have immense talent and passion for the genre. Some fans have Tweeted me @JRsBBQ and said that WM17 was their favorite WrestleMania and included the commentary done by Paul and yours truly as one of the reasons why.

Check out my latest piece at http://www.wwe.com/classi...rs/page-3. I think that you will like it. It's part of a multiple series on the many broadcast partners that I've had over the years.

My wife is a fan of the 'Brodus Clay Experience' as I like to call it and I suspect that many females are. Clay beating a former WWE Champion Monday night was a positive step for the big man who reminds me at times of the Mid South version of the One Man Gang with a little, American Dream mixed into the recipe.

A Twitter follower let us know that his wife broiled some salmon in their oven using only JR's All Purpose Seasoning and then drizzling the almost broiled to completion salmon with JR's Main Event Mustard. Report was it was delicious and simple to make. Same can be done on your grill, weather permitting.

WM28 is now available on Blu Ray. Getting great feedback from fans on it today.

All our BBQ Sauces, Chipotle Ketchup and Main Event Mustard are Gluten Free.

Could have watched @HEELZiggler vs. Kofi Kingston compete for a much longer period of time Monday night. Both are rapidly evolving in my opinion but not as fast as some fans seemingly want. Patience isn't so virtuous any longer.

Nice little outfit that Maxine was sporting Monday night. Hey, I might be on a diet but I can still, figuratively, look at the menu.

When asked if I was just as motivated to broadcast the Legends Roundtable shows as I would be WrestleMania, I answer it this way: I try to put everything that I have into any project but sitting in the middle of thousands and thousands of people positively impacts any broadcaster. It actually might be harder to stay sharp and entertaining in a quiet studio.

That's akin to broadcasting in Tampa at FCW where the crowds are small. I simply watch the monitor and call what I see as best that I can because the kids in the ring do not deserve to have anyone phone it in.

BTW...I'm told that FCW TV can be found on You Tube.

I wish that I had a better way of making sure that fans in the UK know that they can order JR's products easily from http://www.wweshop.com/Category/JimRoss but we are getting so many new followers that the question continues to come up.

Back to WWE TV, Eve is adapting well into her role as Laurinaitis's assistant. Best fit for Eve since she's been in WWE.

All the Q&A's that made the latest cut here on the site are updated. That's a good place to ask questions and actually have a viable shot in getting them addressed.

Jerry Lawler and I will be appearing Sunday June 10 in Houston at the CBS Radio Fan Fest at the University of Houston Alumni Center from 1-3 pm.

Congrats to Steve Austin @steveaustinBSR on his new deal with CMT to star in the new reality show Redneck Island. The new reality show is to begin airing in June and Steve is taping it now somewhere in Mexico, I think. CMT seems to be a nice fit for Steve on cable. For those asking, I do not know how those outside the USA access Country Music Television now known as CMT.

Serious retail inquiries for JR's products can be emailed to me here at CONTACT US on this site. Use the general questions link there.

Anxious to head back to Florida next week for some exciting projects.

Thanks for stopping by and for supporting our efforts at http://www.wweshop.com/Ca...y/JimRoss.

Scott Steiner is back with some more rants on Eric Bischoff - revealing new details about Eric's involvement in the Gold Club Atlanta strip club scandal. Steiner talks about Eric Bischoff and his wife talking strippers to a hotel for some late night activities - and the only reason this information got out is because Bischoff is a bad tipper:

"b---hoff also said in interview Im going thru a mid-life crisis and im a drug abuser, pretty stupid statement.

Since his business partner Hogan recently did a sex video and hes over 60,and hogan testified under Oath that he did steroids,WTF b---hoff how stupid are you,in these interviews you cant deny What Ive been saying,so you say stupid s--t and bury yourself and Hogan.

Havent had a chance to post 609b---hoffs testimony yet,but since Ive been getting alot of tweets Back wanting to know about it,Again 609 is the last sequence in his docket # 1:19-CR-609 and he Testifies under oath that he and his wife go to the Gold Club and pick up a stripper and take her To a hotel,he watches his wife have lesbian sex with the stripper and then he joins them, but the best But the best part is reading his testimony and you can see what a weasle he is.

Also in reading his testimony you find out the only way he gets caught is he gave the stripper a Bulls--t tip,and she gets pissed goes back to the Gold Club tells her boss what he tipped her. He then goes into the register and gives her a bigger tip.......BUSTED..if he would have just gave her a Good tip her boss wouldnt have gone into the register, the FBI was watching all transactions.

I betcha 609b---hoff whos always bragging about how much money he has, wishes he would have gave her A better tip, that must drive you nuts at night, knowing that if you werent such a cheap-ass you could Have avoided all this embarrassment,Hey Eric when you explain lesbian sex to 609garrett And your daughter can you have a fan videotape it,I think this is just the fan participation that hogan was Talking about.

This was another reason why I left,I wasnt going to watch a low-life low-class piece of s--t like you run Tna into the ground like you did WCW,Trust me I'm just getting started...F*CK U. 609 Save Tna."

Goldust was recently released by WWE after working as a producer for the SmackDown brand. Word came out that an undisclosed incident at the April 24th SmackDown tapings in Grand Rapids, Michigan led to his contract being terminated.

The belief is that Goldust was responsible for coming up with the spot on SmackDown where Yoshi Tatsu took a double-team powerbomb finisher from Darren Young and Titus O'Neil. Tatsu landed bad and the bump was said to look even worse live than it did on TV.

Young and O'Neil were not in action on the May 4th SmackDown but did work this week's tapings, using a different finishing move.

Kinda sounds like a really stupid reason to release someone from their contract. But then again, this is WWE.

theScore's Arda Ocal recently sat down with WWE Commentator Jerry "The King" Lawler, here are some highlights:

How his illustrations gave him his break in pro wrestling: "I sent the pictures into the TV station that aired the wrestling shows and lo and behold they showed my pictures on TV that week and they called me up for a job – you know how in a courtroom you see an artist drawing people on the stand, well I became a ringside artist for the wrestlers in the ring."

Never having a major injury, especially to his knees, despite never wearing kneepads and performing a second rope fist drop which lands him on his knees almost every match: "I'm so fortunate do have had a great career doing something that I loved so much I would have payed promoters in the beginning to let me wrestle. Never having an injury is pure luck. We see so many young guys come in and within 6 months of their career they get some sort of career threatening injury, it can happen anytime and I've been fortunate to avoid those."

Recently, "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan had a chat with the guys over at The One Wrestling Show and touched on several topics. Topics included; Scott Steiner's Twitter rants and his feuds with both The Ultimate Warrior and Bret Hart. Here are some of the highlights:

On Scott Steiner vs. Total Non-Stop Action: "Every time I've ever seen him, he's always been nice to me. The last time I saw him, he shook my hand, asked how my back was. He even gave me some phone numbers for different doctors. So, it's just really weird. [Laughs.]

"It's weird to see a guy and shake his hand and then all of a sudden he goes nuts on you. But, I've found out that people that aren't really happy with where they're at in life -- or maybe he's not happy with his career -- they blame everybody else. It's everybody else's fault but theirs. That's the easy way out.

"I mean, [as if] Scott Steiner has nothing to do with where he's at right now. He's pissed off because he's not working at TNA and he's just working independent shows. He's mad at me, it' my fault that his life is the way it is. I guess some people can't take responsibility for their own lives. I guess that's the way it is.

"I don't know what the deal is. I like the guy, I really like Scott. I'm surprised he went off so bad. I was actually talking to Dixie Carter, saying, 'We need to get Scott in here. He's a freak. There's no more wrestlers that look like him. He comes out and the crowd pops.'

"I didn't even know they told him to leave. Last time he came, I saw him pull up in his rental car. I said, 'Where's Steiner at? He's supposed to work with Storm.' They said, 'Oh, he didn't want to do business so we told him to leave.' I didn't even know it. ... So, I told Dixie, 'Let me talk to him and explain what types of plans we can maybe do.' Because I still think he's valuable in the wrestling business."

On the problems between he and Bret Hart that started at WrestleMania IX and the main event: "All I know is what Vince told me. I went in there and did the match at 'Mania because I was on my way out. I was getting ready to leave. I told Vince, 'Hey, if we can get one more pay-per-view out of this thing... I can beat Yokozuna for the belt, come back for the next pay-per-view and drop it for him.

"All of a sudden, Bret Hart got a little upset and got in my face. I said, 'Brother, let's walk in and talk to Vince.' So, it was me, Bret Hart and Vince and Bret said something about the match. Vince said, 'No, that's what you thought you heard.' So, I said, 'Fine. I'm good.'

"If it was supposed to happen -- fine. No big deal. I'll work with anybody. I don't get what the big deal is about it. Bret's making it a big deal. Then, all of a sudden -- you know, that whole Bret screwed Bret thing -- he's working for Vince and he doesn't want to do a job because it's Canada. The whole thing is screwy to me. All of a sudden, it's real? [Laughs.]"

On his "feud" with The Ultimate Warrior: "I don't know what the disconnect is. For somebody that really never wanted to be in the business and for somebody that's taken so much time off in the business, to be so bitter about the business -- I don't get it. You can take Warrior and Steiner and all these guys and put them in the same room.

"If you love this business and you screw up, you get too old, too bald-headed -- at least admit it. You know? There's no reason to talk so much smack because the Jim Hellwig that I knew was a good guy. It's the same as with Steiner. Every time I was around Jim or Scotty, they've been great guys. Last time I saw Scotty, he was a great guy a couple of weeks ago. Then, all of a sudden -- it's just insanity.

"I mean, I don't have time for this crap, brother. I'm doing more positive things in my life and I'm excited about the future. So, all the rumors and stuff, you guys can talk about. I [couldn't] care less."

Damn. My boy Pope has finally come out of hiding! lol

"The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero continues to target Marty Jannetty for carelessly striking Balls Mahoney with a chair during a match for Pro Wrestling Syndicate in March.

Dinero wrote on Facebook, "Have anyone heard from Marty Chairnetty??? You know, the guy that single handily almost did in one night to Balls Mahoney what sex, drugs, and ECW couldn't do in 20yrs; End His Freaking Career!?!??

"Well, If ya hear from the coon, let'em know that Pope is out of semi retirement for the moment and is hoping that he grow some balls, head to Orlando, do what Pope won't do, and that's kiss Hogan's @ss, and beg for the opportunity to show up on iMPACT WRESTLING OFN and call Pope out. Hopefully he's dressed in his 1980's Rockers attire, otherwise Pope may not recognize him! ~ PHS."

The infrequently seen TNA Wrestling star returned to action at last week's live events in California, his first appearances since January. Before appearing at Friday's show in Ontario, he lampooned his lengthy sabbatical, writing, "Welp, here comes Da Pope! Guess Pope better head downstairs to the basement, find, dust off, and clean his Pope gear."

And here's Marty's response, quote-end-quote:

The former WWE Superstar wrote: "Someone get this word over to big mouth Elijah "The Dope" Burke . it's really quite simple..take a look at the suicide dive over the top rope on Jerry Lynn(photo below)..Jerry Lynn is one hella competitor, so I brought my A+ game to that match..it took a lot out of me and out of Jerry but,the crowd of 1300 were on their feet cheering BOTH of us on as the match progressed..we gave everything we had in the ring, neither of us had much energy left to walk back to the dressing room, where we were met with a standing ovation. and word in the streets is people have been talking about it ever since..Here's the thing you need to think about Mr Burke.. I like Jerry he's a friend, I like Mahoney, he's a friend(he just couldnt keep up the blistering pace) what that means to you Elijah Butts(whatever your name is this week), things in the ring with you will be a whole hella lot different..now, if you got any "Balls" like your boy Mahoney..stop talking s--t and get in the ring with me. You wanna call me out on where? South Compton Street Corners? Sheeit I'll come there to you, I probably got more friends there than you do..you gonna find out the in the worse way, I aint your average white brother..(b4 anyone hits me up with this being racist over these comments, consider I have a black girlfriend and the Compton comment is because I heard that's where he was hidding out, or was "hangin out" this past week with TNA.. I tell you you what Mr. Butts, rather than you just bumpin your gums and flapping your yap all negative about me and what you can do about it, let me put it out there like this..ANY PROMOTER, ANYWHERE WANTS TO BOOK A ""STREET FIGHT"" BETWEEN ME MR BUTTS (OR WHATEVER HE CALLS HIMSELF , THE POPE) I'M READY TO SIGN FOR THE FIGHT RIGHT NOW..ANYWHERE..BUT HEY HOW BOUT THIS MR BUTTS, RAHWAY,NJ WHERE YOUR BOY THREW UP, I'M SURE WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO COME THERE IN HIS DEFENSE AGANST ME..BUT THIS IS OPEN CHALLENGE TO ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY, HELL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!!..POST THIS ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE YOU WANT AND CAN(IN FACT EVERYONE DO THAT, WATCH HOW FAST WE FLUSH THIS RAT OUT).. STEP UP MR BADD AZZ ELIJAH BUTTS..POST THIS ON PLACES YOU RUN YOUR MOUTH.CAUSE WE TALK ABOUT IT, OR WE CAN BE ABOUT IT..I CAN SHOW MUCH BETTER THAN I CAN TELL YOU WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN TO YO AZZ IF YOU GRAB THE NUTS TO STEP UP IN THE RING IN STREET FIGHT MATCH WITH ME..WAIT,QUIETLY LISTEN FOR A COUPLE SECONDS........YOU HEAR THAT?...THAT'S THE SOUND OF MR. BUTTS s--tTING IN HIS PANTS RIGHT NOW!"

Hot, sunny day in Norman, Oklahoma. Lots of VERY random thoughts...not all wrestling.

If fans want to sample Mid South Wrestling visit http://www.universalwrestling.com. Old school and extreme before the term became cool.

Slobber Knocker is an old football term denoting a ferocious hit.

Detroit Lions fans ask about firmer Sooner Ryan Broyles. Class kid, tough, great receiver/ return man and a winner. Sleeper of the draft.

Amazed how many fans checking out NetFlix and watching Rivalries:Bret vs Shawm. Must see as is the Stone Cold documentary.

Someone said that young JR looked like John Goodman on 'Flintstones.'

Love reading @jclayfield tweets. Funny as hell.

Fav @Sting match? First Clash of Champions vs Flair. Now on new, WWE DVD. Get it!

Bathroom breaks during PPV's? Never happened, luckily, for me but was 1st stop after every PPV. That's why I usually wore dark pants...just in case.

Yes WWEShop ships to UK & Canada..http://www.wweshop.com/Category/JimRoss.

What ever happened to the ballyhooed Texas Network?

Enjoying writing about my broadcast partners at WWE.com at their classics section.

Most underrated wrestling faction? Arguably, the Dangerous Alliance. Loaded w/ talent.

Will @ HeymanHustle return to more WWE appearances? I don't know but did you ever try to get rid of a virus?

Can @okcthunder win the NBA title? Yes....but not w/o Kendrick Perkins. San Antonio looks good in west. Pulling for Celtics in east...@seangrandePBP.

Pulling for Steelers to win the Super Bowl but Patriots look reloaded.

Could a WrestleMania be held in a new, Minnesota Vikings stadium some day? Sure. Why not?

Keep an eye on Antonio Cesaro who will compete Friday night on Smackdown. Potential impact player. Any list of promo guys when talking blood, guts & thunder has to include Dusty Rhodes and Ric Flair. No? Education, intelligence and natural athleticism are three elements that are closely evaluated when looking at potential WWE performers. I still believe 'IT'cannot be taught but can be cultivated/enhanced.

I'm doing a weekly radio hit on http://sportstalk1400.com Wednesday's at 12:30 pm central time.

Really enjoying WWE's relationship with You Tube. The King is happy w/ his Browns NFL Draft. Cleveland got themselves a running back, a QB, and an offensive tackle.

Do we make a dry rub? Yes! It's called JR'S All Purpose Seasoning and it's awesome. Guaranteed. I'm hooked on Propel Zero. Before you start grilling this season may I suggest an extensive cleaning of your grill. Thank me later.

Anyone else hooked on @swamppeople? Excited for @steveaustinBSR upcoming reality show on CMT. Steve's great w/o a script. Instincts.

I mixed JR'S HOT BBQ Sauce w/ our Main Event Mustard and kicked up a Carolina styled sauce. Worked super on chicken . Fish, too.

Best masked team ever? For me, the Assassins.

Excited for what I perceive will be a big week in Florida next week. I'm loving working in WWE Development.

Follow me on Twitter @JRsBBQ. 425,000 strong and growing.

Are overly stupid comments made by some NBA players a result of players coming into the league too young or is it merely a generational thing & social media trend? IE Lakers Andrew Bynum.

Will the utilization of more submission finishers become more prolific in WWE? Stay tuned.

If my friend Adrian Peterson is now running at 60% that means he's better than 7 out of 10 NFL running back. Been watching some big time European football lately. Love the crowds. Intriguing game. Don't have a favorite team.

Biggest things that young wrestlers need to focus upon....just my personal two cents..know who you are, be aggressive, slow down a touch, and be the kind of human that you'd want to have working for your company.

Boomer Sooner!

WWE Star John Cena Files for Divorce

0510_john_cena_Liz_HuberdeauWWE star John Cena has filed for divorce.

Cena filed the docs in Florida, claiming his marriage to Liz Huberdeau is "irretrievably broken." John and Liz were high school sweethearts but only married three years ago. They have no children.

Now here's the kicker -- Liz has already hired high-powered Miami attorney Raymond Rafool, the same attorney who repped Linda Hogan during her divorce ... and took Hulk to the cleaners.

But it won't be easy -- according to the docs, Liz signed a crippling pre-nup in 2009.

Liz' lawyer has already released a statement, claiming, "Although it is indeed unfortunate that John Cena decided to divorce his high school sweetheart Liz Cena; particularly, after they have come so far in their lives and in his career together, Liz will and really has no choice but to pursue all of her rights and entitlements."

The attorney adds, "Sadly, divorce is not the way Liz thought her perfect love story would end."

update_bar

12:12 PM -- Liz' attorney tells us, Cena blindsided her with the divorce filing. They had been having issues -- and Cena even approached her recently with a pre-divorce financial settlement agreement -- but Liz refused to sign it, convinced the relationship would still work out.

FYI -- It's not uncommon in celeb divorces to bring up pre-divorce settlement agreements because they help simplify otherwise messy splits.

EXCLUSIVE: Former semi-main event WWE wrestler says if not for drug arrest, he thinks he would have been World Champion, talks of backstage dispute with Steve Austin

DugganHacksaw_220.jpg

By Wade Keller, PWTorch editor

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan says he believes he would have risen to World Title level had it not been for a routine traffic stop in 1987 that led to him and his passenger, The Iron Sheik, being arrested when marijuana and cocaine was discovered. Duggan volunteered to the officer there was some marijuana in the car, but he didn't know Sheik had cocaine.

Both Duggan and Sheik were fired, an incident Duggan talks about at length in his new autobiography that came out this month.

In an exclusive interview with PWTorch.com's Wade Keller on the PWTorch Livecast last Friday (subscribe in iTunes by clicking here), he expanded on what he wrote about in his book regarding how the arrest diminished the heights he'd reach in the WWF.

"I don't think I ever regained the momentum I would have had before the arrest with the Iron Sheik," he said. "I think I was on the fast track [before the arrest]. I think I would have been World Champion, Intercontinental, or Tag Team Champion. I never regained the momentum. I think a lot of guys it would have totally crushed their career, but I was lucky enough to survive it and actually thrive after the arrest."

One of the issues that complicated the matter was that he was feuding with Iron Sheik at the time, and back in the late-'80s the mainstream media seized the chance to mock pro wrestling because two wrestlers in a bitter on-air feud were caught driving together. Of course today, WWE cares so little about that type of thing, they have Alberto Del Rio and Mark Henry on Raw giving anti-bullying speeches and coming across as heroes to kids. Vince McMahon cared back then, and fired Duggan and Sheik on the spot because of the embarrassing publicity the arrest created.

"For a while I didn't think I would be given an opportunity to come back to WWE," Duggan told Keller. "My good friend Jake Roberts called me I was screwed and would never be brought back. So I thought that was going to be the end of my career with Vince. But I made the call to Dusty [Rhodes] after Jake called me. I made plans to go down and see Dusty Rhodes in Atlanta. Before I made that move, Bruce Prichard called me from the office and told me to keep my head down and they were going to bring me back. They brought me back, but never gave me the huge push."

Duggan also talked about the big controversy in WCW between him and Steve Austin, and whether he or Austin still hold a grudge today over the incident that contributed greatly to Eric Bischoff firing Austin from WCW. Austin was asked to drop the U.S. Title to Hacksaw Duggan. Duggan says Austin was upset and faked a knee injury and cut the match short in order to express his disagreement with the bookers.

"The deal with Austin, yeah, we had a little heat over that," he saide. "The match was supposed to go 12, 15 minutes. Austin wasn't happy about doing the job so he went down with a bogus knee injury and it kind of took away from me and everything... He said, 'I blew my knee out, I blew my knee out. Cover me, cover me.' I did the cover and got the 1-2-3. That's, as I point out in the book, there was a change in wrestlers' attitude then. It wasn't about passing the torch and what can you do for the company, it was more of a me type of time where you wanted to make sure what you did didn't hurt your chances of going somewhere else rather than the old school deal where, 'Hey, I'm passing the torch to someone else.'"

He said part of the issue was the politics behind the scenes. At the time in WCW, Austin was perceived to be part of a fading political power-base led by Ric Flair, and Duggan being booked to beat Austin was part of Hulk Hogan exerting his power and helping his friends, such as Duggan.

"Yeah, there was definitely two camps at WCW," he said. "There was the Hulk Hogan camp that I was proud to be part of, and of course the Ric Flair. Me, the Hulkster, Jimmy Hart, Beefcake, we all made the moves to WCW. The guys down there, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, [Johnny B. Badd and Sable], and 'Stunning' Steve Austin, they all made the move to New York. That shows what a master Vince [McMahon] is by repackaging those guys. After two or three years he regained the momentum over WCW."

He says the two are cordial today, though. "I wouldn't say we befriended each other. We're run across each other a few times and they were always congenial. At this stage there's no heat I have with hardly anybody. Those of us who have survived this business and thrived in it, so we let bygones be bygones. I hold no hard feelings toward him and I don't think he has any toward me, to tell you the truth... I joke about it now-a-days. I say I beat 'Stunning' Steve so bad he had to shave his head and change his name. I should be getting a kickback. He'd still be Stunning Steve if I didn't get him."

Super-fit Food Network star Robert Irvine has met his match – in both heart and physique.

On Thursday, Restaurant: Impossible host Irvine, 46, wed professional wrestler Gail Kim, 35, in Napa Valley, Calif.

Kim is the reigning titleholder of the TNA (Total Nonstop Action) Women's Knockout Championship. Also a former WWE Women's champion, she once wrestled under the ring name "La Felina." The couple met on the set of Irvine's former show, Dinner: Impossible.

The British chef handled all the logistics of wedding planning, leaving his bride-to-be with one assignment: to show up looking "as beautiful as she always does," he has said.

"My total surprise wedding for [Gail] is almost done, she has no knowledge of what's going on and I am surprising her," he Tweeted Wednesday.

Fellow chef pal Melissa d'Arabian attended the service, as well as Michael Chiarello, Guy Fieri and Masaharu Morimoto, who cooked for the event and won a shout-out for "amazing food and friendship" from the groom.

Tweeted D'Arabian (along with a photo): "Beautiful, fresh sushi by Morimoto....perfect way to open cocktail hour at @robertirvine1 heartfelt wedding."

Guy Fieri "cooked a multitude of amazing dishes for my rehearsal dinner," wrote Irvine. "All our guests were blown away."

"I'm the luckiest girl in the world," Tweeted Kim. "Now I know what little girls dream of."
