Other wrestlers have done this in the past but Chris gets suspended for it? What?

Yeah, I seem to remember Vince's boy (and mine's too, but that's beside the point) HBK put the Canadian flag up his nose at ringside during his feud with the Hart family/Canada.

But then again, it wasn't an actual crime to do so wherever they were taping that night's Raw, so I guess that's the difference, supposedly. He apologized, mid-match, so there was nothing else that should've been done. Maybe they're doing this because Jericho was supposed to go to tour with Fozzy sometime in June anyway, so they figure they'd save face and act like he was really being "suspended".

I guess this will allow him to be a "surprise" when he eventually comes back. Hopefully, he won't have another bunch of vignettes hyping his return that aren't lived up to again. sad

Anywho, here's some video of the "incident":

I see. That's just stupid. Dude apologized but they still suspended him. The WWE keeps on falling apart so shamefully...

Thank GOD this didn't actually happen. disbelief lol

Former WWE Superstar MVP appeared on MLW Radio this week and revealed that he had planned to create a hip-hop supergroup with John Cena. You can hear the full interview at MLW.com or on iTunes.

"When I got to Raw, I had asked Cena about making music and we discussed it. When we were on the bus together or the hotel lobby and Cena would break out some instrumentals, we'd start freestyling together and it was really a trip watching all these people say, 'I didn't know you could do that!' My cousin ended up producing this really cool beat and Cena came by my house when Raw was in town. He recorded a verse on it. I recorded a verse and my idea was for the three guys on the roster who actually rap their own theme music [MVP, Cena and R-Truth], let the three of us all get together on this one track. Kevin Dunn said it was really good and that he really liked it."

"I approached Vince with the idea and Vince wasn't interested. What I saw was, if you take me, Cena and R-Truth and put us all together, even for a little while and let us run like a little bit of a clique, I thought it would be a lot of fun and that the crowd would really get off on it. Especially if we weren't all on the same show. If I'm on Smackdown and those guys are on Raw, but something goes down and the music plays and here I come running out or I'm in trouble on Smackdown and those guys come running out, almost like a really cool urban hip hop stable, John [Cena] being the leader . . . the song would have been a platinum single."

^^ The WWE is full of shit for "indefinitely suspending" Jericho. He was only doing what a heel usually does....fuck with the people/pride of the country they're in. The police already made him apologize, so why is the company taking this any further and suspending him? Just to save face, for a harmless incident like this???

This company is fuckin' PG in more ways than one. Vince probably would've congratulated Chris for this shit (or even admonished him for apologizing for it) if this was only 10 years ago. disbelief

oh how soon they forget what the Iron Sheik did or how many times a wrestler from another country is in the WWE and they bash american's. geez this fucking company!

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

And, more Santino (another one of L4OA's favorites, along with Cena) nonsense:

Does anyone watch Zack Ryder's show (anymore)?:

Saturday Blog..UFC Predictions..RAW 1000..Master of Mic Debate..Patterson vs. Abdullah..JR & 'The Beatles'..25% OFF @ WWEShop!

Happy Memorial Weekend to all and a hearty thanks to all the Armed Forces around the world who are committed to freedom and keeping their country's safe. Grilling time is near so let's cook....

Bit of advice for those traveling outside their own borders...know the country of which you are traveling's laws and customs. Take no risks that might be perceived as disrespect and certainly do not break any local laws. When in Rome....

Regarding the multitude of questions we have received on Twitter @JRsBBQ regarding on going legal matters of interest to some for whatever reasons, usually folks just looking for dirt, I have no desire or motivation to comment on such. I'm not a lawyer nor am I informed of any pending legal issues plus to comment regarding on going matters would be extremely ill advised IE stupid.

WWE.com on their Classics pages have released a list of their perceived Top 25 Masters of the Mic. Obviously, any 'list' is partially designed to create controversy and this one certainly has.

Steve Austin was ranked #1 and Captain Lou Albano was ranked #25 and in between there were many surprises.

Many fans including @CMPunk felt that Roddy Piper should have been #1..Hot Rod was #2. Somewhat surprised to see the Miz and Santino Marella make the list at this stage of their respective careers. Albano was a mild surprise too.

No Jerry Lawler in the top 25 raised an eyebrow or two.

Dusty Rhodes ranked 8th miffed some of Dream's fans. Jesse Ventura makes the list at #20 but still no King??

Mr. McMahon helped carry the Attitude Era, with Stone Cold, to amazing heights but McMahon was ranked 16th. I'm not kissing McMahon's rich backside, I've done that and am a memvber of the 'Club' but Austin having McMahon to play off of back in the day was big money.

The era that appealed most to those providing feedback on the Top 25 Masters of the Mic, influenced as one would think the feedback.

Again, lists are made to stimulate discussion not unlike the NFL Network's list of the top 100 players of all time, of which I had many issues. that was compiled a year or so ago.

I'm happy to say that I had absolutely nothing to do with compiling this list but I've enjoyed the feedback that I've read including the Pet Coon Goofy variety.

Enjoyed taping two Legends Roundtable shows Wednesday night in Stamford, Ct hosted by Mean Gene and with the panel consisting of Michael Hayes, Pat Patterson, newcomer Road Dog, who contributed a great deal, and myself.

Monday Night Raw Memories will air in early July just ahead of Raw's 1000th broadcast.

The topic of Hardcore Wrestling, of which Patterson detests and which he makes ABUNDANTLY CLEAR on the program, airs sometime in October. Let's just say that Pat isn't a big, Abdullah the Butcher fan.

Both shows were fun and had plenty of debate and entertaining discussion. @WWEClasics really does a stellar job in producing and editing these shows. These are among my favorite projects on which to work these days.

The new, @CMPunk DVD will be released in October and the producers said that Punk has been VERY hands on this project including hand picking virtually every element that will make the final edit.

Today, Saturday, is the last day to save 25% OFF at http://www.wweshop.com/Category/JimRoss which is timely here at the beginning of grilling season.

I'm regularly surprised that so many folks feel that JR's products are ONLY for their outdoor grills which is far from accurate. Last night my wife made baked chicken using skinless, chicken thighs in cream of chicken soup and flavored only with JR's All Purpose Seasoning which is also a main event level dry rub.

Night before that she made turkey meat loaf using only Italian bread crumbs, JR's Original BBQ Sauce, JR's Chipotle Ketchup, and our All Purpose Seasoning in the meat loaf mix. It was awesome and healthy.

Check out the autographed, JR's Cookbook package available at http://www.wweshop.com/Category/JimRoss as it makes a great, first purchase and is also a superb, gift idea especially with Father's Day approaching.

The uneducated fans who feel that @WWEDanielBryan is too small to compete for major, WWE Titles are hopefully having professionals do their taxes.

Any one that did not thoroughly enjoy Punk vs. Bryan last Sunday on PPV cannot be made happy as it relates to enjoying a wrestling match.

Those who say that size primarily matters when evaluating main event talent are about a generation removed from reality.

Some followers of @JRsBBQ on Twitter are so young that they didn't know that I was ever in WCW much less that I was in the business 19 years before I ever arrived in WWE in 1993.

Anxious to watch @okcthunder vs @shawnmichaels San Antonio Spurs NBA Western Conference Finals series that starts on TNT this Sunday night. @spurs are the hottest team in the NBA but I'm putting for OKC. Key to the game is OKC playing great defense especially at the three point line, and rebounding. OKC can score on anyone but stopping another offensive minded team from draining threes and getting easy baskets off great passes is crucial for the Thunder in order to move on to the Promised Land of the NBA Finals.

Kind of funny how some fans remember my Skittles commercial ad-libs as much as some of my broadcasting.

We continue to attempt to get JR's products into grocery stores but the process is daunting especially for a Ma and Pa operation like ours even though we can readily supply our products to any chain or store as needed. To enquire about this matter send leads or ask questions here on this site at Contact Us and click on to info@jrsbarbq.com. If you have grocery chain contacts, etc please let us know via email perferably or twitter @JRsBBQ if necessary.

I've updated the Q&A section of the site so you might as well spend a couple of minutes taking a look at them. Email us your questions if you have them and keep them succinct please.

Getting lots of questions regarding RAW 1000 on July 23 in St. Louis but, unfortunately, I have no answers. I'm not in the loop that makes creative decisions but am proudly looking forward to the milestone event. Whether I'm at that Raw or not, I'm proud of my contributions to the brand over the years and watch the show religiously every Monday night.

As I said on the @WWEClasics Legends Roundtable taping, Monday Night Raw was the best thing that ever happened to my career. It was a marvelous ride and the ratings success may never be duplicated again. The talent roster was deep and talented which makes all the difference in the world. I did my share of travel, had a lot of fun and made many friends but now it's @MichaelCole at the helm and I hope that when all is said and done that he will have the same, great memories that I have when Cole steps aside which is inevitable for us all.

Remember that any thing that you grill needs to be be seasoned/marinade for as many hours as you can facilitate it. Makes all the difference in the world. If you're grilling tomorrow or Monday, think about doing your prep today and allowing the overnight process to put your food from the prelims to main event level.

Back to the WWE.com Top 25 Masters of the Mic, the best talkers, without fail, on the list were all from the generation of instinctual speakers who would select the approiate bullet points and take it from there.

Made a comment to a fan question on the Q&A section here that working at Clash of Champions on TBS with Gordon Solie and calling Flair vs. Funk I Quit Match, w/ manager Gary Hart at ringside, was akin to me being a member of "The Beatles' for one night. That night was a major milestone for me. TBS didn't want Gordon working a two hour, live show but I did my damnedest to convince them otherwise. Luckily my persistence paid off.

I thought that @RealJackSwagger and @WWESheamus had a 'stem winder' of a wrestling match Friday night on Smackdown. Helluva bout. Two, true keepers over the long haul. Sheamus evolution is extraordinary especially considering he's not even close to where he will likely end up before all is said and done. Swagger is a physical beast, as athletic as any one in WWE, with a great look and when the personality side of the show biz presentation catches up to his athleticism, the former Oklahoma Sooner will reside on Promised Land for years to come. I was really proud of both men for the match that they provided this fan.

I've got Junior Dos Santos taking care of Frank Mir tonight at UFC 146 by KO or TKO in three rounds or less. Mir seemed to be 'heavy' weighing in at 261 which will likely make him 270ish by fight time. JDS still has some UFC fans thinking that the Brazilian has something to prove to be considered the man in the heavyweight division. Not sure that I agree with that assessment.

I like Cain Velasquez to beat Silva but Cain's alleged knee issues need to be behind him and the former UFC heavyweight champ needs to do what he did not do against JDS and that is take Silva down and destroy the verticality of the bigger opponent who will likely outweigh Cain by 30-40 pounds by fight time.

Expect to see lots of stoppages, KO's, ect tonight in Vegas as the big boys don't usually last over the long haul thanks to four ounce gloves and one punch power. One, great shot can beat any adversary on this level.

All JR's condiments are gluten free and, depending on your stance on small amounts of honey being in our Main Event Mustard, are vegan friendly.

Even though most seemingly don't use this info, if you have shipping questions, ideas for new packages, products, etc please tweet them to @WWEShop. Your feedback to them on JR's products can be extremely helpful to our family businesses growth. Thanks.

Headed back to Orlando to Full Sail University for more NXT business on Thursday June 14 with a trip to Tampa worked in prior to that. I'm having a blast working with talent development and look forward to every opportunity to help.

Been signing a new, WM28 themed JR's photo for WWEShop's use in the near future. Hopefully, 'Business Picks UP!' sooner than later.

Have a great and safe holiday weekend and please don't forget why we have the Memorial Day holiday in the USA. Please tell a veteran or active military, THANK YOU!

Boomer Sooner!

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar was sitting cageside at UFC 146 last night, and was shown on camera watching UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos defeat Frank Mir.

UFC President Dana White hinted at Lesnar returning to the organization at the evening's post-fight press conference. When asked if Lesnar's appearance meant anything, White smiled and replied, "maybe," before flat-out admitting the Lesnar may be headed back to the company. White went on to say that he hadn't spoken to Lesnar, but he would let everyone know if anything happens.

PWInsider reports that Paul Heyman was also in Las Vegas, the site of UFC 146, this week.

Lesnar re-signed with WWE in April and is contracted to appear for the company through Wrestlemania 29.

You can check out video of Dana White discussing Lesnar's potential return below:

Also...

Brock Lesnar met with UFC President Dana White on Saturday night in Las Vegas. The meeting reportedly did not go over well. If Lesnar's appearance at Saturday's UFC 146 event gets mentioned on Monday's RAW, then the whole thing is likely storyline related.

Internal reaction to the Chris Jericho flag incident last week among the WWE talents was they were more shocked and upset than anything else. While it was a big deal online, behind the scene it was not.

The feeling was that Jericho was just doing his job but WWE had to suspend him because he violated the local laws in Brazil and because the incident could be used against the company in the future.

On Twitter Jericho still insists that he is done with this run in WWE, suspension or not.

There he goes, trolling his fans again. lol

See, you're so hurt and angry at the fact that your hero John Cena isn't #1 that you completely glossed over the fact that Punk is at #12.

It's okay, mayne. Calm down...breathe, breathe, breathe. Remember those calming techniques I told you about to employ whenever you're angry that Cena loses? Well, here's a good time to use them. Former WWE performer Jillian Faye Fletcher (a/k/a Jillian Hall), 31, was arrested on April 23, 2012 in Orange County, Florida and charged with battery (domestic violence).

The one-time WWE Divas Champion subsequently announced Thursday via Twitter that she has separated from her husband of two years, Mike Farole.

"As most of u already assume what's going on with me recently.. some Really horrible things've happened and Mike and i have separated," she wrote. "This news and negativity has been very hard on me, but time is healing. I'll be me very soon."

She then tweeted a photo of a tattoo featuring her husband's name, which she dubbed "A tiny mistake.. Lol."

Steven Muehlhausen of The Fight Club Chicago radio show in Chicago recently interviewed "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, who was discussing his new book, Hacksaw, The Jim Duggan Story. Duggan spoke about making his WCW debut in September 1994 at Fall Brawl against Steve Austin for the U.S. title, and feeling that he was sandbagged by him in the match.

"Yea, I think that was when the business started changing," Duggan said. "Contracts started getting involved. Guys started worrying about there own personal image and how they would move on from one company to another. That was the change from the old days when you would pass the torch if you were leaving. You did the job for the guy. The guy did the job for you.

"That was the first time I saw that where Austin was worried about taking care of himself and went down with the bogus injury shortly into the match. I had words with him right after it happened and the little bit right then. Of course, he went on to have an outstanding and unbelievable career. Obviously the guy was very talented, [but] not my favorite person to say the least."

Smackdown Spoilers (to be aired on 6/1):

* SmackDown opens up with World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus. He talks about No Way Out and Alberto Del Rio. David Otunga comes out and demands an apology for Sheamus running over John Laurinaitis two weeks ago. Sheamus refuses and out comes Del Rio. Otunga announces that Del Rio will be able to pick the opponent for Sheamus tonight. Otunga ends up laid out after a Brogue Kick and Del Rio flees the ring.

* Sin Cara returns with new red and white gear and new pyro. He defeats Heath Slater in a decent match with no botches.

* Hype for tonight's WWE Title Match with Kane vs. CM Punk.

* Ezekiel Jackson comes out followed by Damien Sandow. Sandow cuts a promo and refuses to wrestle. He leaves but Zeke brings him back to the ring. Sandow ends up defeating Jackson with his neckbreaker finisher.

* Backstage segment with Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler wants to face Sheamus tonight and Del Rio picks him as the opponent.

* Ryback defeated two jobbers in another squash match. The jobbers were from Alabama and they definitely rubbed the Baton Rouge crowd the wrong way then they said "Roll Tide roll." Crowd responded with chants of LSU before and after the match. Ryback got a great response from the crowd, minus a few Goldberg chants.

* Vickie Guerrero comes out with Dolph Ziggler and cuts a promo on Sheamus. Ziggler teased again that he is ready to lose Vickie Guerrero as his manager. As Vickie was speaking from the stage, Dolph emerged and stole the mic from her. He then announced that he was about to defeat the World Heavyweight Champion.

* Sheamus defeated Dolph Ziggler after a Brogue Kick. Jack Swagger interfered but it backfired and allowed Sheamus to get the win.

* Zack Ryder and Santino Marella defeated Darren Young and Titus O'Neil in under 2 minutes. Big Show came out after the match and beat up Santino on the stage, throwing him into the set. Show went and beat up Ryder next. Show knocked Santino out with a knockout punch as the crowd bood.

* Daniel Bryan is backstage trying to convince AJ Lee that CM Punk is using her.

* Cody Rhodes defeated Tyson Kidd in a quick match. Christian was on commentary and they had words after the match.

* CM Punk and Kane went to a DQ when Daniel Bryan interfered. Bryan attacked them both until Kane came back with a double chokeslam. John Laurinaitis interrupted things and announced a three-way for No Way Out for the WWE Title. AJ ended up in the ring with Bryan and Punk. She left by herself and Bryan slapped Punk. Punk closed the show with a GTS on Bryan.

Josh Modaberi recently spoke with WWE Hall of Famer JJ Dillon, here are some highlights:

Working for Vince McMahon as a front office executive: "Vince was the first to have a vision once the Turner cable network started up and began showing wrestling nationally as an alternative product to all the little territories as we had known before. Vince had this vision and saw what was coming and he pioneered it, I often wonder what if it hadn't been Vince McMahon, what if it had been Bill Watts, Jimmy Crockett or Eddie Graham where would the business be today, would there even be a business?

"Vince had a vision of what he thought wrestling should be and saw it as sports entertainment, a lot of people were angry at him because he took that approach but he was looking to appeal to a much broader audience and in the early WrestleMania's he brought in a lot of celebrities for crossover appeal not just for what happened in the ring.

"If you watch the television programming today and put a stopwatch on to count how many minutes of actual ring action there is in a two hour show, it's not all that much, but again it's down to the lack and depth of talent there is in the industry."

Leaving WWE to work for WCW under Eric Bischoff: "I went to WCW right at the start of the Monday Night Wars, and it was 84 weeks in a row that WCW beat the Vince McMahon product in the ratings. The biggest difference between Vince and Eric is that Vince is a wrestling person, and was in the fourth generation with his children becoming involved in the business.

"Eric Bischoff on the other hand had very little experience and it was obvious from the first time I met him, just after leaving the WWF. In our first meeting I thought as a businessman he would want to pick my mind about how the company was run and the philosophy having been with the WWF at the top level for eight years but all he wanted to talk about was how much longer Vince McMahon would last. Eric was obsessed thinking he would but Vince out of business, but I knew after that first meeting with Eric that was never going to happen, but wasn't going to say that to his face."

If TNA can ever compete with WWE: "I would like to think that the possibility exists but they have been around for ten years now and I always say you have one opportunity at a first impression and when they first began Vince McMahon couldn't hire everybody that was in the wrestling business, so TNA picked these people up.

"You then had a few people leaving the WWE and joining TNA, but the first thing they did on television was not talk about how good TNA was but instead they would talk about where they had just come from and why they left because they were being held back and it became a forum for individual grudges.

"For the fan watching it was an opportunity for an alternative product, but the more time that has gone on it has become harder to take it to the next level."

Tensai failed to impress WWE officials in his pinfall victory over John Cena on the April 16 Raw SuperShow in London, England and was deemed "a flop" as a result. He was initially pegged to face Cena at the company's Over The Limit and No Way Out pay-per-view events but his poor showing in the main event match led to his push being curtailed and Big Show taking his place. WWE also canceled plans for summer live events to be headlined by Tensai and John Laurinaitis vs. Cena, instead replacing the former tattoo artist with Big Show.

Though Tensai has yet to be defeated on television, he suffered his first pinfall loss before a WWE crowd in a dark match following Monday's Raw SuperShow—to Cena. He is being largely relegated to WWE Superstars while his character is retooled. He has already undergone tweaks as he appeared sans robe, competed more aggressively and had his named modified within the past two weeks. More changes could be in the works as there was talk this past week of additional modifications.

Another one of L4OA's favorites is close to biting the dust. At least he still has Cena to wildly cheer for.

Awesome, would love to see him curl up in the fetal position again when he gets punched in the face.

Daniel Bryan expects boos when WWE hits Mobile Civic Center

MOBILE, Alabama -- When Daniel Bryan strides into the Mobile Civic Center arena on Saturday, he expects some boos. And he’s cool with that.

“The worst thing you can have is apathy, if you go out there and nobody cares,” said Bryan, one of the star wrestlers in WWE’s Raw franchise. “I love it when I go out there and some people love me and then some people hate me. It’s fun to have that cross-section of reaction.”

Bryan has earned it. He’s an interesting case. He made a name for himself with an active career outside the WWE, so when he won that organization’s “Rookie of the Year” title in 2010, he was a rookie in name only.

At wwe.com, his vital stats show him to be five feet, ten inches tall and 210 pounds. Outside the ring, he’s average size, albeit fit; inside it, he sometimes looks outclassed. Obviously, he’s not going to get very far on brute force alone.

“I’ve always enjoyed the technical aspect of wrestling,” he said, “and enjoyed just the science of it and the mental aspect, which is being able to break down a body part, being able to know all the holds, being very scientific in all the moves I do.

“You don’t see anybody in the WWE who throws kicks like I do,” he said.

He’s inventive. And sometimes it’s a matter of opinion whether his actions are clever or despicable.

At one point in his career, for example, he won a “Money in the Bank” match that gave him a useful token: A briefcase that he could cash in at the time of his choosing to trigger a world heavyweight championship match. He played it at a moment when the defending champion, the juggernaut known as Big Show, had already been flattened by a third party. All he had to do was pin somebody who was already beaten.

“Winning is winning. I like finding unconventional ways to do things,” said Bryan. “If I was a very conventional wrestler, I wouldn’t have gotten to where I am today.”

Bryan said his approach has won him a lopsided fan base. Men aged 15-35 seem to like him the most, “kids and the women, not so much.”

On Saturday, he’ll have a prime opportunity to live up (or down) to expectations, as he takes part in a triple-threat match for the U.S. championship, versus Santino Marella and David Otunga. That’s hardly the only attraction.

“It should be a great show, there’s going to be John Cena in a handicap match with Big Show and Lord Tensai,” Bryan said. “I mean, Big Show is over 7 feet tall, he’s 450 pounds, he’s a real monster to see in person. Lord Tensai, too, is just an enormous man.”

Other high-profile bouts on the card include a tag-team championship match pitting R-Truth and Kofi Kingston against Primo and Epico, and a diva championship match between Layla and Natalya.

“This show will be different than any of the live events we’ve done in Mobile in the past,” said Bryan. “We’ve got a new stage setup that makes the atmosphere better.”

The perfect setting, he said, to continue his sometimes controversial run.

“I feel like I’m the best wrestler in the world. So I can’t imagine me doing anything but winning,” he said of his triple threat match. “I’ve never really been in the ring with David Otunga, so it should be interesting.”
