- WWE ran a Twitter poll yesterday asking fans what is the better chant - YES or WHAT? Daniel Bryan's "YES" chants won with 59% of the vote.

- WWE will announce today that Alberto Del Rio and his personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez have officially been moved over to the SmackDown brand. Del Rio has earned a World Heavyweight Title shot against Sheamus and has been touring with the blue brand overseas for the past two weeks.

I'm glad the "Yes!" chants won out. It's so much more fun to say (and to hear the crowd do) than that annoying ass "What?" shit. If you're not Stone Cold, you don't need to be saying it!

Mania was average until Taker faced Triple H

PRAISE ... Steve Austin reckons The Undertaker's match with Triple H saved Wrestlemania
PRAISE ... Steve Austin reckons The Undertaker's match with Triple H saved Wrestlemania
EXCLUSIVE
Published: 19th April 2012

STEVE AUSTIN reckons The Undertaker's Wrestlemania showdown against Triple H saved the event from being a flop.

Six-time WWE world champion Austin told SunSport: “‘I don’t watch all the WWE PPV events these days, but WrestleMania is always a must see.

"The Undertaker and Triple H match made it special. Going into it, I thought how will they better last year? How do you follow something like that?

“But they did. It was at about the 8-10 minute mark when I saw them dig beyond the solid work they had done and pull out all of the stops.

"Shawn Michaels was a real benefit there too. He was perfect in his referee role.

“I believe the match they had was off the charts. If it hadn’t been for it, the event would have failed. It was very average until then.”

Stone Cold added: “I felt bad for Daniel Bryan, as his match with Sheamus was so short and I really wanted him to get the chance to shine.

“He is a great kid and he can work, you just want to see him work and he didn’t get that chance there.

"I hope they use him better down the line as there aren’t a lot of guys that truly work like he does.

“Daniel does need some polishing on his promos, but then so do a lot of the guys there.

“There are a few prime spots for main eventers now and the WWE need to push some guys into them.

“They have Brock Lesnar back and he is a real monster, he also has his UFC success behind him too.

"He is right in at main event level. You have Cena there too and then they have very limited opponents. The job now is to move people to that position.”

Austin himself has been rumoured to return to the main event position for a one-off match, possibly against CM Punk at next year’s WrestleMania.

And although long-retired from in-ring action, Austin, 47, has hinted at returns in the past and enjoyed a playful war of words with Punk on Twitter.

He told us: “Maybe Punk’s not the guy to go against. He needs to pick up his intensity. We’ll have to see what I do, I’m happy now doing what I am.

“In a perfect world, where I could step back into the ring for one last match I would be willing to have that discussion with management.

“I do miss the business and working a live crowd, going out there and wrestling your hearts out.

"I’m still in contact with a few of the guys. I speak to Kevin Nash the most, Nash and I talk about once a week.

“I also keep in contact with Jericho, Punk and Cena, but not as often. I’m not a big phone or email guy and they are always on the road or doing their thing.”

Away from the ring, Austin is enjoying his new career as an action star with a string of movies under his belt.

His latest DVD/Blu-ray release is Recoil and sees him playing a man avenging the death of his wife and child. It’s a thirst for justice that the star sympathises with.

He said: “Recoil is certainly more violent and gritty than my previous movies. My character here is in a very dark place.

“I’m an eye for an eye kind of guy and I feel the justice system, at least here In the US, is too easy on guys who commit violent crimes.

“But I'm through with movies where my family die and I’m in a dark place.

“I want to move away from this type of role and get to exercise a personality.

"I’m working on a few things right now, so maybe you’ll see me doing comedy next — who knows?"

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson talks 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation': 'This one is much different'

TheRock-GIJoe

Does your movie franchise require a fresh face and additional biceps poundage? Then the man to call is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The wrestler-turned-actor got his big-screen breakthrough in the 2001 sequel The Mummy Returns and more recently has spruced up both the Fast and Furious and Journey to the Center of the Earth series.

Now Johnson has joined the Joes in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, the follow-up to Paramount’s 2009 G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, which earned $300 million worldwide and received — to put matters kindly — mixed reviews. The actor’s addition to the cast isn’t the only change to the franchise: Bruce Willis joins the cast and director Jon M. Chu (Step Up 2, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never), replaces G.I. Joe helmer Stephen Sommers. Meanwhile, judging by the film’s trailer, Cobra star Channing Tatum plays a smaller part this time around.

Below, Mr. The Rock talks about G.I. Joe: Retaliation, which opens June 29, and his penchant for playing action heroes who like to crack eggs as well as skulls.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: What can you tell us about G.I. Joe: Retaliation?

DWAYNE JOHNSON: I can tell you this one is creatively much different [from the first]. It’s rooted, it’s grounded, it’s real. The studio came to me and I loved the idea of starring in the movie because I grew up on G.I. Joe and it’s a massive property. I spoke to the studio and they told me about the creative shift that they wanted to make with the movie, which made it easy for me to sign on.

Franchises are often “rebooted” after three or four movies. Did the studio talk about why they wanted to do so after just one?

Sure, sure. We all talked about that. The very frank discussions that I had with the studio was, ‘We know we can do better. And let’s challenge ourselves and sit down and make the movie that’s going to entertain the world.” I can appreciate that transparency and that directness. When you’re that open from the beginning, it makes things much easier and it makes the creative process that much better.

Can you give us some idea about the plot?

Absolutely. The Cobra command is trying to take over the world. I emerge as the leader. I go get Bruce Willis and we start kicking a– all over the place and stopping that!

What can you say about your character, Roadblock?

In the mythology of G.I. Joe, Roadblock is the glue that holds the Joes together. The added layer to that for me was to make him a B.A.M.F. You know what that means?

It took me a couple of seconds, but yes.

Alright!

Who does Bruce Willis play?

Bruce Willis plays the original Joe, Joe Colton. He fitted so nicely into this role. I’ve been not only a fan of Bruce since I was a teenager but a friend of his for years now. And us together, in these roles, as a fan of movies but also as a fan of action heroes, I’m excited about this. Bruce does that very well. And when I say “that” I mean, “There’s a problem, I’m going to fix it, and I have a gun.” [Laughs] We both do that very well.

I believe Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who played one of the villains in the first movie, isn’t in Retaliation. Can you say who, if anyone, has replaced him in the role?

Well, to be honest with you, I didn’t see the first one. So I’m not quite sure. I know he’s not in it, but I’m not quite sure what role he played.

Have you still not seen the first one?

No, I didn’t want to see it. I just didn’t want that to cloud my judgment in any way as we were going down a new creative route.

Channing Tatum returns from the first one, as does Jonathan Pryce. So there are some plot connections between The Rise of Cobra and Retaliation?

Yeah, sure, sure. There are some plot connections with the first and the second. I’ll tell you this: Out of great tragedy often emerges new leaders and, through a great tragedy that takes place with the Joes. New leaders emerge.

Is it the Joes who are retaliating?

It is, yeah.

John M. Chu directed the movie. What was he like as a collaborator?

He was great to work with. He was an interesting choice at first because he had just come off the Justin Bieber movie.

I’m not sure what you’re getting at. I always think of Justin Bieber and The Rock in the same sentence.

Of course you do! [Laughs] Any time you think of Justin Bieber, you think of the Rock. So it was an interesting choice, but the studio was sold on him, and once I sat down with him I recognized right away that he was the right guy for this. One of the most interesting things about John Chu is that, from a very early age, he was always inspired by movement and dance. So to take that notion of movement and fluidity and apply that to a very big action movie — it’s a challenge, it’s a risk, but it has paid off in such invaluable ways. I’ve seen the movie and I couldn’t be happier with it and that guy is a hell of a director. Audiences are going to appreciate what he did.

Where did you shoot the movie?

We were all in New Orleans. We were the first production that was allowed to shoot inside of NASA there in New Orleans. They were nice enough to let us shoot in there, and utilize everything that they had, which was amazing. We made a complete mess of the place and probably screwed it up for any production that’s going to come in there after us. We had a lot of explosions there. But we cleaned up everything nicely!

I believe Roadblock is also something of a chef — like your character in The Rundown. Are you a good cook yourself?

I am a hell of a cook myself.

What’s your signature dish?

My favorite dish would be blackened sea bass with a mango paste… No, I’m kidding, that’s bulls—. I can’t cook! Look at that, I had you going for a second! No, I tell you what I do: I make a hell of an egg-white omelet and I make a hell of a Don Julio shot.

Would you be up for making another G.I. Joe?

I would. Definitely. The world ain’t saving itself! Me and Bruce and the Joes, we’ve got some saving to do!

Austin Aries Talks Lockdown, X-Division & The Future Of TNA

aries2

Austin Aries is one of the most popular and gifted wrestlers in the industry today. Starting off his career in Ring of Honor alongside the likes of former WWE World Champion Daniel Bryan and current WWE Champion CM Punk, Aries became the first and so far only two-time ROH World champion.

The 34-year-old is currently enjoying his second spell with TNA and is enjoying his successful run as the longest reigning X-Division Champion in the company's history, holding the title for more than 215 days.

We caught up with Austin to talk about his X-Division reign, working with CM Punk and Daniel Bryan, and TNA's Lockdown PPV.

Q. You have become the longest reigning X-Division champion in TNA history, what an achievement.

You're correct, reading the internet and Wikipedia is serving you well, but what it fails to mention is that I'm also the girthest X-Division champion in the history of TNA, not just the longest.

Q. How did you first get into the sport of professional wrestling?

It began in 2000 when I started training with Eddie Sharkey in Minneapolis, four days a week, four hours a day in a little ring. I was always the first one to arrive and the last one to leave, paying my dues and that is where the road to greatness started.

Q. When growing up, who were some of the wrestlers that inspired you to get into the sport?

I grew up watching a lot of the NWA and Jim Crockett Promotions, so enjoyed watching the likes of the Four Horsemen, Rock 'n' Roll Express, Midnight Express and Dusty Rhodes. That whole generation was pretty much what inspired me to get into the sport.

Q. As well as TNA you have also enjoyed success in Ring of Honor and have been in the ring with CM Punk and Daniel Bryan - what was it like wrestling both of those guys?

It's always great when you get to wrestle guys that are on the same level as you. Whenever I got in the ring with either of those guys we would always go out there and put on great matches.

From a professional stand point it's nice to see guys that have a real passion for what we do having such great success. It goes to show what a huge success Ring of Honor was, to have CM Punk as the WWE Champion, Daniel Bryan as the former World Champion in WWE and myself as the longest reigning TNA X-Division Champion.

Q. What do you make of the current state of ROH?

I'll be really honest with you, the Ring of Honor today is not anything like the Ring of Honor that the likes of CM Punk, Daniel Bryan and myself came from. Obviously they are still operating under the same name, but the company has changed so much over the years and it's really a shell of it's former self in terms of the vision and thought process. The original Ring of Honor and the Ring of Honor today are two completely different things, I like to call it Smokey Mountain of Honor.

Q. Both TNA and ROH are celebrating ten years this year, but how far behind is ROH from TNA?

A couple of thousand dollars behind, there is no money in Ring of Honor, and that means they will only be able to secure talent for a certain amount of time before they move somewhere else.

Q. You've had many great matches, is there anyone that you would like to get in the ring with?

I would love to get in the ring with Bobby Roode because he is the World Champion and that would be good. World Champion versus X-Division Champion. I would love to add another title to my collection. Some other guys I would love to have matches with include Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy and obviously AJ Styles. Many people say AJ is the best X-Division Champion and I would like to put that to the test.

Q. You are currently one of the hottest stars in TNA, what do you make of the crowd reaction you are getting?

People use all these terms like heel and face, but to be honest with you I'm not really sure what they mean. I just go out there and be myself, people are either going to like it or they're not, but what I do know is that I will always get a reaction and really that's all I can ask for. I want the fans to care and I don't mind if they care in a positive manner or if they care in a negative manner, as long as they care, because that means they will take out their wallets and pay to watch me do what I do.

Q. TNA and Vince Russo recently parted company, what did you make of Vince?

I don't really have any thoughts on the situation. There's lots of chefs in the kitchen, I'm given the recipe from those guys and I just go out there and cook up some greatness. I never really had many major issues with Vince Russo one way or the other and didn't really react with him a whole lot, but hopefully he is happy in what ever he is doing now and I know TNA will keep doing what we do.

Q. Are you looking forward to the Lockdown PPV? And what can fans expect?

First off all fans tuning in to Lockdown can expect to see every match in a steel cage. As for myself I'm no stranger to a cage and I've been in some high profile cage matches during my career and I've always managed to come out on top and I don't expect this to be any different.

While Beth Phoenix appeared to be legitimately injured on last night's RAW Supershow, the plan for her to drop the Divas Title to Nikki Bella goes back a few weeks.

The idea was to get the Divas Title off of Beth Phoenix so Kharma can get the belt without facing Phoenix first. The plan as of a few days ago was for Nikki to win the title, likely at Extreme Rules, and then get destroyed by Kharma the next night on RAW. Obviously plans were moved up and the title change happened on RAW last night. Kharma destroying Nikki Bella for the Divas Title would have brought her back into the storylines as a dominant force and would have ended the Kharma-Bella storyline that began last year.

Even though Nikki won the title last night, PWInsider reports that nothing new has been said about The Bella Twins leaving WWE at the end of this month. It's still possible that they came to terms on a new deal but that's not the word going around.

Hosts Jack E. Jones and One Inch Biceps welcomed The Original Gangsta New Jack to "In Your Head Wrestling Radio" for his third appearance last week.

New Jack said that he was one of the few wrestlers who never went to major fed and made a name for himself, even though it wasn't the greatest name in the world and that people either appreciated him for being hardcore or would never consider getting in the ring with him.

New Jack then talked up the big Extreme Reunion show this Saturday, managing to mention ECW twelve times even though he said he wasn't supposed to. He talked about that he was in better shape for this show than he had been in his whole life and that it was like looking forward to a family reunion. Jack E. pointed out that most of the seats for Extreme Reunion were gone and New Jack said that this was proof of how all the experts who said that nobody wants to see these guys anymore were full of crap.

New Jack then hit a few topics in rapid succession:

Balls Mahoney - New Jack says Balls has legit heat with him for him insulting Balls' woman and for posting a video where Balls threw up on some fans.

Tammy Sytch - New Jack said that yes, Tammy tried to get him to kill her cop boyfriend.

Marlena (Terri Runnels) - New Jack said that he did have an affair with Marlena but he had no intention of distributing any pictures because he couldn't imagine anyone wanting to see them.

Mustafa - New Jack said he and Mustafa are cool and he's looking forward to working with him at Extreme Reunion.

Abdullah the Butcher - New Jack that he and Abdullah are cool even though Abdullah started a false rumor about New Jack having HIV.

Bubba the Love Sponge - New Jack said that he went on Bubba's radio show but was afraid it was a set up because Bubba wanted to get back at him for knocking out Brian Knobbs (who is a friend of Bubba and Hulk Hogan). Bubba brought up New Jack stabbing William Jason Lane and New Jack pulled out a knife during the interview. After that New Jack said Bubba got really humble.

Mass Transit - New Jack said that after the match Mass Transit asked him if he thought he had a job and New Jack said he told him that if he didn't bleed to death he might.

William Jason Lane - New Jack (who didn't mention Lane's name) said that he stabbed Lane because Lane punched New Jack in the face twice and he had been doing cocaine and drinking.

New Jack then went back to the topic of the Extreme Reunion show. Jack E. asked New Jack why he thought the old wrestlers from ECW were remembered so fondly and New Jack said it was because the ECW guys had fun and the fans really cared for the wrestlers. New Jack said to not expect what people saw in ECW from Extreme Reunion, but expect to see the personalities you saw. He said that the wrestlers may be a little slower and less agile, but the people in Philadelphia would sell out a building to watch the old ECW wrestlers eat ice cream because they knew that they would put on a good show.

When asked if he would stick around for the long-term if this show leads to a new promotion, New Jack said he would stick around to help the younger guys because there is a real problem today with guys who can wrestle but can't cut a promo to save their lives.

New Jack then addressed the Internet fans who think he is some kind of thug by saying he basically leads a normal life and to not judge him because you don't know him.

Jack E. then took a call from Noel in Philadelphia, who said that he would be at Extreme Reunion. New Jack told him to find him during the event and that he would get a picture of him and Noel dropping their pants together. New Jack said that Noel was an example of the kind of fans he has created, and that he embraces them and has a good time with them.

The interview ended at this point. Jack E. thanked New Jack for being on the show.

Thursday Blog..Tampa/FCW...25% OFF Sale on JR'S at WWEShop.com!!

Beautiful day in Tampa! Here's q quick blog on a super, busy day.

FCW records three, one hour TV shows tonight at 7. I expect all three shows to feature some outstanding main events. For these kids, every match in every segment is imperative. Love the sense of urgency that these broadcasts produce for young talents looking to earn the opportunity to move up to WWE.

These kids are being trained well by some dedicated individuals. I like this group as I feel their potential is obvious. However, as I've always said, potential won't buy the groceries forever. The time is now for many talented grapplers.

Seems as if many fans are giving John Cena little chance of defeating returning beast Brock Lesnar this Sunday on PPV at Extreme Rules. I'm NOT of that belief. Whether it be 'ring rust', Brock's overconfidence or Cena's competitive spirit, I still feel this match is too close for me to predict.

Punk vs Jericho will be masterful but I sense Sheamus vs Bryan may steal the PPV w/ potentially three falls to work with.

Simply as a fan, Extreme Rules is going to be must see for me Sunday night on PPV.

Wweshop.com, http://www.wweshop.com/Category/JimRoss is offering a whopping 25% OFF purchases over $50 for a limited time. That savings certainly eases shipping costs.

I've updated the Q&A's here on the site so check them out.

WWE's alliance with You Tube is awesome. I'm there daily. Great current and vintage content. Been watching many Dick Beyer aka the Destroyer All Japan bouts this week at FCW. great learning tools w/o fail. What's old is new again from one of the great masters of our business.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for Buff Bagwell who was recently involved in a serious car accident. Keep Buff in your prayers on his long road to recovery.

Gonna miss one of my favorite events, the NFL Draft, tonight to be at the FCW TV tapings. Although I'm a Draft freak, I'm grateful and excited to be here in Tampa. Hopefully I can sit in on a match or two.

Foodie idea....mix low fat sour cream or ranch dressing w/ JR's Original BBQ Sauce to crest a GREAT dipping sauce for wings & veggies. Mix to taste. Awesome.

Hope these newly drafted NFL players do through financial planning...same thing I preach to wrestlers.

Pulling for my OKC Thunder in NBA playoffs but San Antonio in the west is hot at the moment.

Don't forget to hit the BIG SALE NOW at http://www.wweshop.com/Category/JimRoss ASAP as the great savings won't last forever. It's grilling time!

Thanks for stopping by and share our site with your friends. Follow me on Twitter @JRsBBQ as we have over 415,000 followers!

Boomer Sooner!

Hulk Hogan Take My Naked Ass Off the Internet!!!

0425_hulk_hogan_tmz

Hulk Hogan is freaking OUT over screengrabs of his alleged sex tape that have leaked onto the Internet -- and now, the wrestling legend's taking legal action ... sending in his lawyer to clean up the XXX mess.

The black-and-white pics -- which appear to show a naked Hulk doing the nasty with an unidentified female -- surfaced on TheDirty.com last week ... and more pics followed.

But Hulk isn't taking the affront on his knees -- unlike a certain unidentified female -- in fact, his lawyer just fired off a cease and desist letter to TheDirty.com editor Nik Richie, demanding Nik take down the pics forthwith ... or face a lawsuit.

The lawyer writes, "As you know, should a sex tape or photographs of Mr. Bollea exist, they were taken without his consent and therefore the same would constitute a felony in the State of Florida."

We're told Nik and TheDirty.com have no plans to remove the pictures in question. Stay tuned ...

Buff Bagwell's Wife Medication May Have Caused Pre-Accident Seizure

0426-beef-bagwell-getty-911

Former WCW wrestling star Buff Bagwell's near-fatal accident this week may have been the result of a seizure induced by a sudden change in medication -- this according to his wife.

Buff's wife dialed 911 Monday -- right around the time of his accident -- claiming Buff had just called her on the road, saying he was about to have a seizure. Buff's wife was worried, so she called 911.

She told the operator, "He's been cutting back on taking certain medications, and he is on a medication right now for a bacteria that’s in his system from another antibiotic. He's trying to cut back on pain pills, and maybe that’s what's causing [the seizure]."

She adds, Buff "has had a seizure before from the same thing."

Another 911 caller, an eyewitness who ran to Bagwell's aid after the accident, claims the 42-year-old was barely conscious with "a lot of blood on his face."

The caller claims no other car was involved in the accident. Buff is currently in intensive care at a nearby hospital.

wasn't he out with a injury in the 1st place?

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
