As for the O.P. - no it doesn't hurt one bit. Just feels a little strange. Kind'a like when you get water in your ear while taking a shower x10. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory! |

Yeah I did in summer and had to go twice for it. It tickles and itches mostly, but it started hurting in the end cause the wax left behind had hardened and I had put oil for a few days before going back. | |

it din't hurt so much gettin it done, but then with nothin in there i caught an ear infection that 'literally' turned my world upside down. i couldn't stand or if i was goin to stand i couldn't eat... i am KING BAD!!!

It doesn't really hurt, but your ears might feel a bit sore on the next day. Getting it done early enough should prevent you from getting an ear infection due to the wax build up. | |

My memory of it is it was really LOUD Gshhhhh Right in your ear Then my ear felt abit blocked & deaf for the rest of the day Not painful but sensitive for a few days afterward | |

It felt blocked and I felt deaf too for a couple of days. Damn my buildup was bad, I was hearing wrong musical notes and everything and nearly panicked. | |

I had it done a number of years ago but I wouldn't recommend it since the flow puts a lot of stress on the ear drum, and could actually damage it if you're unlucky. If you go to a proper "ear doctor" they'll likely have a device that sucks out the wax instead. Those are much better in my experience.
These days I never have to do either though, since I simply keep my ears clean with a q-tip (without shoving it in too far).

Try rinsing it out with gasoline:)
Me and.my friend were switching out my fuel pump. He got a.tricklenof.gas in his ear....that fool started jumping 'roun like a jack rabbit in a frying pan. He had his hand on his ear and yelling and hollarin'. Damm near was in tears. His pops finally thought to put some olive oil in his ear and he was cool. Lemme tell u. THAT SHIT WAS HILARIOUS. Me and my 3rd friend that was there were laughing our assess of....not just ROFL...we were literally rolling around in the grass, holding our guts....we were at that "silent" stage of.laughter...u know...it was all just too much. I've heard about ear drum damage too and I think my right ear is my bad one, but the wax was probably too hard to even touch it. Does candling also remove all the wax? I've considered trying that if it happens again. | |

I believe it's called an "ear lavage" - sounds better than "ear flushed out." I couldn't hear well out of one ear, and kinda felt like I was hearing under water, so I got an ear lavage. It doesn't hurt, but they did warn me that I might feel pressure on the ear and the whoosing sound is kinda tickly, and that I might feel a little dizzy afterwards because your inner ear controls your sense of balance so the pressure might cause a dizziness feeling (but I didn't feel dizzy). It was very refreshing afterwards because I could hear normally again, and I felt almost "lighter." But as Thisone already said, don't look at what comes out! Man, it was like I gave birth to a 6 lb baby ... outta my ear! Gross!

When I went it wasn't bad at all. Kind of tickled a bit. Nothing to bad. What freaked me out was when the nurse was telling me about all the stuff they have gotten out of other patients ears. Literally anything ranging from small rocks to insects. I was grossed out.
After it was all over I was a bit off balance for about half an hour but other than that no problems. Have u had ur + today? | |

I had it done once in 1988 and that was a long time ago so who knows, maybe they have a more comfortable way of doing it after all these years. Anyway, even back then, it didn't hurt. I was extremely nervous and squeamish because something was even in my ear in the first place but no, it didn't hurt. So when I say it didn't hurt, you better believe it didn't because I am the biggest baby there is when it comes to pain. Andy is a four letter word. | |

Had it done a few times. Put some olive oil in your ears for a few days and then go. Never hurt me. | |

I've had it done. Didn't acutely hurt, but, yes, the pressure was a tad uncomfortable, and my ear was very slightly sore for a few hours after.
I recall the benefit was immediate, though. It was amazing how much clearer my hearing was... and I recall the doc pulled some pretty unsexy stuff out of my ear. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

It was nice to know that was out of there.not usually....i remember when i was about 7 yrs old, i was really sick, ear infection or something, THAT hurt like a son of a bit$#
