First, Belated Happy Birthday... smile

My name was because I didn't want something Prince-related at the time (I thought all the good ones would be taken), and I really love chocolate... shrug

My picture is because I had the Rutgers "R" since April, so I wanted a change.

The other night, I Googled "purple roses", looked through a bunch of pix, and like that one the best.

"Love Hurts.
Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

My avatar is just a picture I found... blue is a favorite color of mine.

My username has more to do with my love of gardening and a name of a butterfly, than anything else.

boring. lol

Vendetta1

Let's see:

First org name and avatar: Stymie, pic was of Stymie from the little rascals. Family nickname.

Second: Romera. Don't remember avatar but Romera is my middle name.

Third: TheOrgerFormerlyKnownAs. I was trying to come back incognito. It didn't last long. lol

Fourth: Lothan. Trying to hide again. Mouth was much too big. lol

Lastly: Vendetta1. Another alias. Vendetta is a cartoon character on Making Fiends. My current avatar was made by a friend and I am a huge supporter of the 99%.

Shaolin325

I don't have an avatar. But I chose the name Shaolin because I've always just liked it! I grew up a huge Bruce Lee fan. 325 is my b'day.

Nothinbutjoy

avatar

Nothinbutjoy comes from a time when I was working @ 7-11. The job was awful, but it was a job with $$ coming in so I had to focus on my blessings. Being the profoundly sarcastic person that I am, when people would ask me how I was doing I'd say "My life's nothing but joy," in the way that some people say, "I'm living the dream."

I also did not want a Prince related handle and I thought Nothinbutjoy, counting my blessing, sarcasm and all pretty much summed me up.

My avvie is Helga G. Pataki from the cartoon "Hey Arnold!". She has been my avvie since 2000, with the exception of the time I switched to the P.F.U. When I switched to th P.F.U. avvie I lost a fantastic avvie of Helga made by one of my favorite .orgers of all time, Vashti. I still miss my old avvie.

For those not familiar with the character, she has passionate love/hate feelings for Arnold which she expresses through shrines, poetry, insults and pummeling. Much in the way I express my feeling for Prince. That's why I never change her. Not just in the matters of Prince, she is I and I am she.
I'm firmly planted in denial

Couldn't think of anything original, and I knew if I just made something up I'd forget what it was so I just settled for the meaning of my name, I couldn't forget that, it's the only name I've used here. This avatar I've had it a few months when I saw it I thought it went perfect with the name. Though it can't be seen clearly, it's a picture of a landscape taken a few moments before sunrise, called, dawns grand finale. The layers of colors I really liked, reminded me of arizona's landscape which I thought was so beautiful.

Serious

avatar

I wanted a photo of myself but was too shy to show my face at that time lol. I don't like it much anymore and have been looking for a new one, but didn't find another one yet that I am happy with.

Orgname: I wanted something not Prince related. I am a fan of John McEnroe who is famous for his phrase "You cannot be serious!" so that was the inspiration.

With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

Number23

It's the bold Jesus. My favourite moral philosopher and scam artist. Someone added the Santa hat for me about eight Christmases ago and I could never be bothered changing it. My name came from a lot of Robert Anton Wilson books I was into at the time. Then Hollywood sniffed the meme out years later and I looked a bit of a prick. Even more of a prick! X

lenis

avatar

It's my nickname from high school. And later on when my friends found out its the latin word for soft Ive been known as lenis penis.

My avatar is a picture I took in Vientiane, Cambodia. I was sitting in a tuk tuk, cruising close to the Mekong river, where people were getting ready for the night market. Here I saw one of the most beautiful sunsets Ive ever seen. The sun was huge and the picture makes me so calm.

Avatar is one of my fav drawings of Prince.

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

My name is an homage to hair grease like the kind Prince has employed for decades.

My avatars have been jars of pomade or the hairstyles resulting from its use.

Visionnaire

Since I have eyes, I can see.
So I put an eyeball, representing the ability to see.
And since I'm Latin-American, the name Visionnaire is latin, which in Americanese, means "One who can see".
I was hoping that it would all come off as a double entrendre. But then, I looked up the definition of double entendre, & realized that it wasn't.
Probably because the word entendre is french, which means "hear" as in "to hear". And the whole point of my name & avatar was about the ability "to see", a whole different sense altogether.

Later, I found out that "Naire" or "aire" was more of a french suffix than it was latin.
Which probably explains why I got this whole affair as mixed up as I did.
But by then, I had already started posting under the name & avatar of Visionnaire.
So I just said "Fuck it. Who cares about the origin of my name & avatar, anyways....?"

Then,
I come across this thread. And it shows that you guys care, that's who.
Which, in the end, makes this whole screenname & avatar debacle that I went thru, worth it.
For now, I truly see.

I originally wanted to use the name Jules or Julie but both were taken. I thought about doing JustJules but decided against it, thank goodness. I knew I wanted my real name to be in there. My last name is Whitehead and when I was a kid someone called me Julie Purplehead to make fun of me, which for whatever reason made me cry. Prince likes purple so Julie Whitehead became JuliePurplehead. It is not a penis related name, believe it or not.

As far as my avvie, well, it's me. biggrin

Name: Acknowledging that Funk and soul of the 70's is my musical foundation upon which I listen to a wide range of genres and subgenres today. Sistah was just a tag on the end of the name, and thought it sounded cool.

Avatar: I like cats except for Hello Kitty, and I can't clearly explain why, but it has to do with her head. I like the surprised look in Chococat's eyes.

"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

I'm terrible at coming up with names for anything, so I took some made up words from the song "I Am The Walrus" to use for my username. My avatar is a picture of me and my dog in 2010.

I always thought that out of all the letters in the english alphabet,
W is the one that most sounds like a word. "Double-you". And it's a word that implies that this is a letter that is confident of itself. Like it's telling the other letters, I'm not just one of you, I am doubled you. It's the longest in width when compared to other letters (even more that "M", whose shape is just a more compressed version), so even when writing it down, one can't help but feel a sense of movement that flows with a certain kind of confident swagger.
And the fact that it's looks more like a double V than a double U is sort of it's way of saying "fuck you, logic".
It's a letter that's filled with subtle complexity & sexy rebellionous, & at the same time, very conducive to the mindset of the common man & his need to say that he is here & that he belongs.

I don't know, P seems to work pretty well on its own.
