Like Punk said, not bad for 2 Indy Schmucks!

They deserve it. WWE Creative had Daniel Bryan down the John Morrison road for months, even after winning Money In The Bank. Hopefully they don't screw this up......

[Edited 12/19/11 0:19am]

They most likely will. Just about everyone's reign as champion after cashing in Money in the Bank has sucked.

This is just their way of doing what they did at Wrestlemania 20 when they had Benoit win the WWE title and Eddie Guerrero be the World Heavyweight Champion, only on the opposite side of the spectrum. Those two were the internet darlings of the wrestling world back then and the sentimental choices for champions because of their hard work and their great skills. Now, of course we all know what happened with those two, but with Punk and Danielson, they're the complete opposite of what happened with them, though they are this day and age's internet darlings of the wrestling world. I guess in this PG era they're in, they want to project decent-living champions/faces of the WWE, and nothing gets more clean living on their roster than those two.

Now, I say all this, and they could have Danielson lose the belt within a month and basically make him a paper, transitional champion and not make him the "face" of the Smackdown brand. But either way, it's good to see a guy like him win the belt, especially with the career he's had. He's one of the ones who worked their way into the WWE the hard way.

Still downloading the PPV, so I haven't seen anything yet. I'll give my thoughts on the whole thing once I get around to watching it (and tonight's Raw).

I still have hope for them turning Cena heel. The WWE is officially selling anti-Cena shirts. Might as well capitalize on all of the hate he gets, eh?

This is from Cena's Twitter talking about feeling "disrespected":

John Cena has continued to tweet on WWE's new Anti-Cena t-shirts.

"They have wanted too since 2008. I told them no. Finally I just said I dont care. Im fine with the way things are. Some like me. Some don't."

When Cena was asked by a fan if he felt disrespected by the new t-shirts, he replied:

"Agreed. But WTF. Ignore it no longer. Its out there so those that wanna be like that should be able to voice their opinion. Like I said doesn't change me one bit. Stay true..always have.. always will"

When another fan asked Cena about the possibility of WWE releasing some Anti-Rock t-shirts, he replied:

"I can tell u right now….that would never happen"

Interesting that they also didn't use him for the PPV. Could be more ammunition for him in the storyline for when (if, I guess) he turns heel.

And just because this shit is funny and I 110% agree with it lol :

Brutus Beefcake's Ex-Wife Makes Odd 'Gay' Claims

Brutus Beefcake's estranged wife Barbara Leslie was recently interviewed by The National Enquirer, here are some highlights:

On Brutus' Relationship With Hulk Hogan: "I've watched my husband and Hulk interact for the past 20 years, and there have been many times when I felt they were much too close for comfort."

On Linda Claiming Brutus and Hulk Were Lovers: "I have absolutely no knowledge of a homosexual relationship going on between my husband and Hulk, nor has Linda ever shared anything with me that would indicate she has knowledge of that. But I've been acquainted with her for a long time and have never known her to say anything that serious unless she could back it up. She must know something."

On Beefcake Rushing to Help Hogan With the Toilet Seat Following His Back Surgery: "I thought how odd that was for one man to do that for another. The boundaries of the intimate bromance they share are definitely blurred, and I just find it all extraordinarily suspicious."

Linda left her husband of over 20 years, paraded around Miami in mini skirts and low cut tops (who wants to see Linda Hogan half naked), took 70% of his shit then got with her daughter's former classmate THEN wrote a tell all book. That's an attention hound for yo ass

and you have credibility when you admit you were once married to Brutus The Barber Beefcake. That's worse than saying you let Virgil or X Pac beat the cakes up neutral

Linda Hogan and Charley Hill

Linda Hogan Checks Into 'Relationship Rehab' with Her 23-Year-Old Manboy

Linda Hogan's 23-year-old fiance just couldn't tame the cougar -- because he and the Hulk's 52-year-old ex-wife will be working out their issues on VH1's "Relationship Rehab" ... TMZ has learned.

Sources close to production tell us, Linda and literal boyfriend Charlie Hill have agreed to appear on the upcoming reality show, hoping to fix their crumbling relationship -- and taping is already underway.

Linda and Hulk Hogan got divorced back in 2009 -- and Charlie, who Linda had been dating since 2008, proposed a year later.

As we previously reported, rapper DMX and his estranged wife are also seeking counseling on the show.

[Edited 12/16/11 16:04pm]

I called this shit. That was a relationship due to fail... in comparison I hope X and his wife can patch things up. But without a reality show present. confused

Now there's word going around that in the latest "cut-in" segment, which shows the girl and boy in a classroom in black and white, Chris Jericho's name was on that marble notebook, but it was also scratched out. So, the rumor is is that Stephanie is bringing Jericho in to take the title and the phrase "Best in the World" away from CM Punk. And she'd be doing this, I guess, as retribution for the shit he said MONTHS ago about her or maybe what he's doing in the company. Interesting theory, but I don't see how ANYONE could see what in the hell was crossed out on that notebook, unless MAYBE they had a 72-inch HD TV or some shit. Who knows. I was looking at some shitty avi file, so maybe it was clearer even on regular TV.

We all know that SOMETHING has to come in and present a real challenge to Punk for RR next month (seeing as how Del Rio and Miz are old hat threats that have been beaten to death, IMO), and I've been saying all along it's Jericho, cuz the promo kept saying he's coming to reclaim what's his, and the first thing I thought of was how Punk calls himself the "best in the world", something Jericho used to always say. Hey, Jan 2 is only two Raws away, or maybe even one Raw away if they on't plan on doing shit for next week's show since it's the day after Christmas.

Also, was it me or did the crowd on Monday NOT give Punk, Bryan, and Ryder the raucous ovation he expected, seeing as how they were in Philly after all? It was like he was trying to coax them, and they made noise, yes, but not as much as you might think, considering their indy background there. Oh, and Ryder really needs to work on his live mic work, esp if he's going to try to run with the big dogs.

Samoa Joe Speaks Out - WWE Debut?, TNA Future, More

Here is a recap of AllWrestling.com Week In Review exclusive podcast interview with TNA's Samoa Joe hosted by Dan The Cannon.

On TV wrestling: "TV wrestling is very flash, bang, get it going. I've been told by many people in creative that those wrestling fans love the wrestling but it's the other fans that don't understand what a wrist lock is etc. I have had my disagreements on this. I think that the art of professional wrestling speaks for itself. I think if you are good enough professional wrestler you can tell your own story regardless of what extraneous feuds you have going. Fundamentally we may differ on that."

On Bruce Prichard being the head of creative: "TNA put me in the main event picture pretty early and these guys have been around just as long if not longer in Storm's case. I'm very thankful to see those guys where they are right now from a personal standpoint."

On not being in the world title picture: "It's always rough not to be in the world title picture but at the same time right now we are finding new talent and establishing new characters. TNA gives me opportunity to work with tremendous young talent. Playing a part in developing young talent is rewarding."

On whether he would jump ship to the WWE: "I'm still with TNA; we have a fantastic financial agreement. The relationship between me and TNA has always been great. I'm the type of person that really lives in the moment. I don't put too much into trying to build scenarios that are bad. As long as I get an opportunity to wrestle and wrestle great people then I have the greatest job in the world."

On Stone Cold saying WWE should sign Samoa Joe: "That was one of the greatest compliments ever given to me in my career by far by one of the greatest athletes in the industry. Just hope that TNA sees that and we can take it from there. I'm big on loyalty. Some people are of the thought process that if you don't like something, you quit. You go somewhere else. That's just not me. I think it's silly. I think it's shallow and tawdry. I don't think I'm done with what I want to do in TNA."

On his shoot on Scott Hall during turning point 2007: "There was an incident where Scott Hall no-showed. They handed me the mic and said 'get him'. That's what I was told. I went out there and got him. I ruffled a lot of fathers that day, in particular Kevin Nash. Kevin knew about the demons Scott was facing. None of us knew the extent of Hall's issues."

On Matt and Jeff Hardy: "I'm ecstatic for Jeff. I've never seen him more healthy and look so much more alive. God bless Matt. Matt is battling those same demons now. I hope and pray that he makes it through. At the end of the day, wrestlers are human beings. These are real people. No matter how much you hate their antics, no matter how much they disgust you, as a person, as a responsible human being I would never wish death on these people."

Mick Foley talks WWE's 'Tribute to the Troops' and return to wrestling

Last Updated: 5:07 PM, December 16, 2011

Posted: 12:11 PM, December 16, 2011

“The guys and women appreciate that we get out there to the forward operating bases that the other entertainers don’t get to. One guy had a great quote ‘These other guys, they only go to country clubs, they go to Anaconda. Only WWE has the blank to come out on the front lines,’” Foley said.

Heading to the operating bases and sometimes even the front lines is not always safe for the Superstars, and Foley called the experience of being in war zones “sobering.”

“It’s dangerous... when you’re putting on a helmet just to land and the plane is spiraling down because it’s harder to shoot a plane out of the sky when it’s spiraling,” Foley said. “In successive trips we were within 100 yards of a shelling, people took cover and had to put on their vests and helmets in the mess hall. We got pretty close to the action.”

WWE
WWE Superstars The Big Show, CM Punk and John Cena perform for service members.
WWE
WWE superstars pose with members of the armed forces.

Ultimately though, Foley believes that getting to visit the soldiers, even those who have suffered injuries, is a good thing and something more people should try and do.

“It’s good to see first-hand the sacrifices, it brings the action home in a way that reading about it or hearing about it in the news does not I think everyone should have the opportunity,” Foley said.

With Foley back in the WWE, he is surrounded by roster of some of the most popular superstars of this generation. One of the biggest names in the WWE, CM Punk, has a wildly-dedicated fan base and is one of the marquee figures in the business. Punk himself has noted that he is not the “ace” of the company, much like Foley was during his reign.

“There are some [similarities], but I would say that he’s more valuable to the company than I ever was. I always thought of myself as something of a supporting player, albeit a good one. He’s a main event superstar and has really caught fire in a way that not many people have,” Foley said.

Foley says he roots for and is even indebted to fellow Long Island native Zack Ryder, a WWE superstar who has used an internet-based series to become one of the WWE’s most popular personalities.

I do [root for him]. I called in a big favor and Zack helped me out with a fundraiser for a group that I did called Holiday Magic. I’m indebted to Zack for helping me,” Foley said. “I love the idea that it’s happening so fast, it’s like a rocket ride and it’s gaining momentum. Even people who weren’t in on the YouTube phenomenon are seeing this really colorful, really talented character who is absorbing it all and having the time of his life. I’m a Broski, I’m not ashamed to admit it.”

With stars like Punk and Ryder coming into their own, Foley believes now is a time unlike any he has ever seen, including the “Attitude Era” where last generation’s superstars became larger than life.

“I honestly cannot remember the last time so many great young stars were hitting their stride simultaneously. You could say in the late ‘90s there were a bunch of guys hitting their stride but they had been around for a long time, guys like me, Austin, Triple H.” Foley said. “These are younger guys who are really clicking at the same time. I’m talking about Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz, Wade Barrett, Sheamus, Punk. I think it’s an exciting time to be part of the WWE universe.”

As for his return to the WWE, Foley simply said that he is “thrilled” and that “it feels like I am home.”

Hey, I figured that shit was gonna happen too cuz of the rumors, but I was hoping they were just wrong. It just confirms their stupid shit, unfortunately.

Ziggs may be a favorite to win the RR, but I still say Jericho's probably the one coming in on January 2nd to feud with Punk. We shall see, though.

that's what i'm saying bboy about the lack of competition in the divas division! and alicia is WHACK! it's sad seeing beth and nat jobing 2 these no talents in the ring. what happend 2 superfly snuka's daughter? damn she could knock the shit out of these tards like kelly and alica and the bella's.

Remember, "have a foxxxxxxxxy holiday!" disbelief They let her ass have the mic for 10 seconds, and she can't even sound good doing that!!!! And how is it she hot a CLEAN victory within a few minutes over the women's champ Beth, when supposedly no one's been able to do it for the past couple of months?? Like you said, wack ass shit!

Oh, and Ryder really needs to work on his live mic work, esp if he's going to try to run with the big dogs.

i'm still sketchy on that commercial cause u just never know with them. so if this theory about stephanie doing what she's doing, then is stephanie the little girl in the clip? hmnmm

and that bruno guy or whatever the fuck his name is ..STILL hasn't made his debut has he? lol

and that other clown that week after week that kept doing those stupid ass promos hasn't made a impact either

oh and we still have tough enough andy 2 come soon ..yeah it's looking great 4 new talent in the WWE

Lol!! I forgot all about ol' Broadus Clay. They've been promising his debut for WEEKS now!!! How said is this company?? Can't nobody take what they say seriously because they never deliver what they say they will.

Remember the whole Cole Challenge? Not that I wanted to see it, but they kept saying it would be the following week, but it took 3 weeks for it to finally happen. And, Broadus, of course, was supposed to debut back in November, and now he ain't gonna do shit until at least next year. Andy's ass can stay the fuck down in FCW for all I care. No one takes his ass seriously either.

Happy Holidays to all. We hope that everyone is enjoying the holiday season. Please tell a friend about our site or better yet send them the link. Also, thanks to all that have made our family business grow significantly in conjunction with http://www.wweshop.com/Ca...y/JimRoss.

Random thoughts and answers to a variety of Q&A's are now served....

I enjoyed WWE TLC by and large. The $45 investment for approximately three hours of entertainment understandably stretches many folk's budgets. The $45 price tag for specialty PPV's is a debatable point from the feedback that I receive from many consumers. Nonetheless I am pleased that I bought the event.

Proud to see Daniel Bryan make it to the top of the card as the new, World Heavyweight Champion. Those that knock Bryan for his lack of size generally don't understand athletics especially MMA. I like that Daniel Bryan breaks the old mold, by and large, and he provides something/someone new for which the fans to emotionally invest. Bryan will be an effective fan favorite and someday, down the road, will be an outstanding wrestling villain.

People of Bryan's character and dedication always were attractive to me when I was hiring talent. It is senseless to bring 'problem children' into a locker room especially a locker room that is somewhat young and impressionable. If Daniel Bryan is able to display his considerable skills in longer than average, TV bouts I feel that he will captivate the underdog supportive fan base many who know that Daniel has paid his dues time and again. Hopefully that story will be told in a more objective fashion on television.

@ZackRyder embarked several weeks ago on a social media based campaign to get himself noticed and to leverage an opportunity on WWE TV. It worked. Through his own ambition. ability and creativity, Zack Ryder has become the United States Champion. He now has the ball that he so desperately wanted and now it's time for him to run with it. Ryder's in ring work is solid but it will be up to him to make sure that his ever growing fan base takes him seriously when the need calls for such. I am impressed with Ryder's work ethic and hope that the opportunity that he created for himself pays dividends.

Based on WWE TLC PPV and Monday's Raw from Philly, it certainly seems as if CM Punk has become the newest 'face' of WWE. No, John Cena hasn't disappeared and Cena will still face The Rock at WM28 in the longest promoted and, arguably, the biggest Wrestlemania main event ever but Punk has been positioned to be the leader of a transitioning roster of young, WWE Superstars, many of who are 'this close' to taking the much needed step to the next level.

These men who are 'this close' to elevating to the next level need to be willing to maximize every minute that they are afforded in a WWE ring and also willing to figuratively elbow their competition out of the way. It is imperative for the growing list of young talents remain hungry and willing to outshine any and all their contemporaries.

It also seems, based on the two, WWE TV shows that I've seen this week, that WWE is serious in looking at rebuilding their Tag Team division. As I said before, this reclamation project will take time but it will be new to many younger fans. I hope that WWE is successful in this endeavor.

From our Twitter @JRsBBQ and email mail bag:

-- Nothing new on the Undertaker in response to the most asked question that we receive. I still remain steadfast that Taker will return in time to build his 'Streak' match at WM28 and I also remain of the belief that he will never see his Wrestlemania Streak broken. For the sake of covering this matter...I don't know who Undertaker's WM28 opponent will be, and if I did why would I spoil the surprise, nor do I know of any retirement plans for the Deadman. Undertaker fans need to exhale, enjoy the holidays and allow what is going to evolve with the legendary to star to evolve.

--I'd guess that Kevin Nash most likely is finished wrestling for WWE but to say that Kevin is 'finished in the business' isn't probable or for me to speculate. For a 52 year old athlete with horrific knees, I thought Nash made an excellent accounting of himself in his TLC PPV bout versus HHH.

--Yes, I personally prefer the masked Kane versus the unmasked version strictly speaking as a fan. Still get feedback from the Oliver Stone's of the mat world that swear this Kane is an entirely new guy in Kane attire. That would be inaccurate, by the way, but those so inclined should believe as they choose. I like the leaner, quicker Kane who is still a massive human being. Without question, Kane has had a WWE HOF career.

--Enjoyed exchanging Tweets with Batista @davebautista this week and I hope to visit him when I am next in Tampa visiting the FCW facility. He's a good dude. Missed.

--Many more fans are upset with Michael Cole's occasional remarks about me than am I. WWE obviously likes what Cole does on TV which is why he's there. I have more important things to focus on in my life than what a television character says about me on a TV show.

--Regarding the 1/2/12 vignettes that have been airing, I have no firm idea on who these well produced/written vignettes are for but I have my suspicions. Again, if I truly knew, why would I spoil the surprise? Doing these types of vignettes always builds anticipation in a big way with many fans which is why I think that they should be used more frequently.

BTW, years ago in Mid South Wrestling, Bill Watts got the Rock 'n Roll Express over as main eventers to the fan base via vignettes, about 6 weeks worth, long before the Mid South fans ever saw R 'n R in person or knew who they were.

Just because something worked 'back in the day' doesn't mean that it won't work today and the old "but that was rasslin" defense doesn't hold up in court. It all comes back to successfully dealing with a fan's basic, human emotions which remain largely in tact no matter the calendar year or generation. Plus, what was 'old' will be new to many young fans.

--Don't know any specific details on the WWE Network for those asking. I know it's expected to be big and that many people are investing unreal hours in getting it ready to launch, as we've been informed, on April 1, 2012. I do not know if it will be available outside the USA IE the UK, Canada, ect. One would assume that would be a WWE goal but when, if, and how that might occur is not known to me at this time.

--Will J.R. have a role on the WWE Network? I sure hope so but that bridge hasn't been crossed as of yet. I know that I will be an avid viewer. Remember that youth and look always outdistance experience and talent in show biz. That's what Jim Carrey told the King and I in a casual moment during the filming of Man on the Moon.

--Will WWE ever have a major, WWE PPV emanating from the UK? The time difference issue so that the broadcast airs live, live in North America is a problem. Nonetheless I don't know WWE's plans for a UK based, major PPV. All I can say to fans in that part of the world is to stay tuned. The time zone issues may be more of a hurdle than can be overcome. TBD.

--King and I loved appearing in 'Man on the Moon' which must have been airing a bunch lately on cable because of the amount of feedback that I've received on it this week. King played himself and was a key component in Andy Kaufman's brief albeit stellar career. Jim Carrey, who played Kaufman, stayed in character during the entire filming channeling what he thought was how Andy would have conducted himself as a faux, wrestling villain. In other words, Carrey was largely a pain in the ass during the production of this Milos Foreman film. Nonetheless, Carrey was brilliant playing Andy Kaufman.

--Hopefully someone has told Brock Lesnar that he cannot beat Alistar Overeem by standing in front of the slugger with deadly knees. It's a simple strategy, destroy the slugger's vertical base with wrestling and then ground and pound a victory for the former, WWE Champion. I still have Lesnar winning by stoppage in round two.

--It's very rewarding for us to hear of how many of you are using our products in some form for your holiday feasts. It's almost like sharing a special meal with you during the holidays. Our business at http://www.wweshop.com/Category/JimRoss has exceeded our expectations. We don't sell gimmicks. We sell legit, excellent products from our family's own recipes. I hope that you will try them some day.

--Excited to be attending OU vs. Iowa in the Insight Bowl on December 30 in Tempe, Arizona. Travel plans made. I always feel that I represent OU and WWE when I show up to a game donning my black hat. Sometimes that's a challenging proposition depending on how much those that I meet have been drinking and the outcome of the games.

--Nothing new on a JR penned autobiography but I do have some writing partners in mind. I will write the book but I need someone to help me stay focused and to provide some order to my ramblings.

--Will we ever see an Austin vs. Goldberg match? Highly Unlikely as Gorilla Monsoon would say. In other words, NO, in my opinion.

--I am not in favor of 18 year old kids training to be a pro wrestler without also going to college at teh same time or having something viable to fall back upon. I'd be hard pressed to hire an 18 year old today unless they were very special and extremely mature.

--The Road Warriors were an 'attraction' tag team and not the greatest, in ring wrestling tag team that I ever saw. Were LOD big time main event stars? Unquestionably but much like Andre the Giant, Hawk and Animal were great attractions and were best utilized when they were protected and not overexposed. I do think that some of LOD's promo work was underrated. Joe and Mike complimented each other well and are one of the top teams of all time.

--The best wrestling villains are largely the ones that fans know or think are legit badasses and the wrestler's persona projects that "I can kick your ass." To possess a genuinely tough persona usually can't be manufactured and has to come from within the individual.

Thanks for stopping by and please follow us on Twitter @JRsBBQ.

TNA's Winter Speaks on WWE's Divas Division

When Gail Kim left WWE she criticized the organization for their lack of faith in women’s wrestling.

Sports Vibe asks Winter if she shares the same sentiment.

“I wouldn’t say that the standard of female wrestling in WWE isn’t as good as in TNA, but I would agree that there is less opportunity for the girls in the WWE to showcase what they can do. Every now and again WWE would have a great story line with a woman or a great pay-per-view match and then other times you watch Raw and if you blink you miss the girls wrestling,” she says.

“In TNA there is a lot more opportunity for the girls to showcase what they can do and there are a lot more story lines for the Knockouts division—a lot of the time on Impact there are two girls matches.”

Winter also compared the two bosses she’s worked for, Vince McMahon and Dixie Carter.

“I really haven’t had much contact with Vince McMahon apart from a couple
of meetings about story lines and character ideas, I wouldn’t really say I got to know him has a person,” she says. “Dixie is very approachable, she is always around and is super friendly, she has a lot more a a personal relationship with all of the wrestlers.

Since joining TNA last year, Winter has held the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championship as well as the TNA Women’s Knockout Championship.

She is asked if she should have been given the opportunity to win gold in WWE:

“I think it was possible for me to have the opportunity but I didn’t for whatever reason. I could blame them and say they didn’t give me the opportunity or I can maybe it’s something I didn’t do, its just something I’ll never know. I did have a title shot once in the WWE against Mickie James and that was amazing, I would have liked to have got more opportunities,” she says.

Heading into 2012, Winter reveals her New Year’s resolutions.

She says, “Just to kick it up another notch, I would like to be involved in more really strong story lines, have some really good PPV matches and hopefully get my titles back!”
