The combo of raspberries, meringue & cream leaves me in a state of heaven! I think raspberries have a certain smell & taste of Chanel no 5.

Yes!

Any dessert that includes banoffee in it in some form, is heaven.

This week, I made some sour cream and tart cherry ice cream. I used dried cherries macerated in Southern Comfort. drool

Saks Fifth Avenue has a chocolate bar that serves an insane banoffee. The first time I'd ever had it was there, and I immediately thought, "Where have you BEEN all my life?"

Since it's cold here, I made ginger cookies this week. They were pretty damn good, if I do say so myself.

In general, my favorite desserts are cookies and brownies. But I love chocolate cake--most kinds of cake, really--too.

I'm also a big fan of just some plain old dark chocolate, with some red wine or coffee.

Have you ever had chocolate with beer? There are a couple of Polish porters that are amazing with chocolate - Zywiec and Black Boss. They have lots of dark fruit and hints of chocolate, themselves.

I made Guinness ice cream to go with a chocolate cake awhile back and been toying with the idea of making Zywiec marshmallows to put in hot chocolate.

Ooh, this gives me a whole bunch of new ideas to try.

That Guinness ice cream sounds incredible. Did you serve the cake and ice cream with Guinness, too?

In my world a dessert has to include ice cream to be worthy of being called dessert. It can be pie with ice cream or berries with ice cream or whatever, but there has to be ice cream somewhere on my plate! Best of all is of course a pure ice cream dessert.

Along the same lines: In England - from what I've heard - many actually call dessert "pudding" (even when it's cake or something else), probably because it's so common to have pudding for dessert. They're a bit weird over there.

not much--just sugar and butter. The crust is flour, butter, shortening, sugar, salt, and water

then when you make it you brush the crust with milk and sprinkle more sugar over it
