Yes I agree w/ that's so gay ... but w/the blonde statement.. I was referring to natural blonde's
I suspect that the 'blonde moment' actually refers more to bleach blondes as it infers they have to rely on looks rather than brains, and of course gentlemen prefer blondes.
naw it's to blonds in general... but the rest is in agreement with the meaning |

A term that is still used in the states & not in the UK- Handicapped... The basis of this word comes from a time when people who were disabled, physically or mentally, could not gain employment to earn. So they would resort to begging in the streets with their Cap in their Hand leading to the term handicapped. It's not been used in the UK since the 80's or before, instead is it termed Disabled, which I must admit, I much prefer.
Disabled suggests unable so is not right.
Invalid suggests not valid so is not right.
Physically or Mentally challenged is patronising so is not right.
Until a definitive term is found we have to accept all terms as long as they are not meant to offend.
differently abled? LOVE HARD. |

"Gropecunt Lane" - This was a Street name found in many Cities in England, thought to have been named due to the practice of Prostitution within those Streets.
Streets where once named for their practices, i.e Baker Street would have been occupied by Bakers and so forth.
Due to its vulgar meaning the Streets where renamed from Gropecunt to things such as "Grape Lane, Gropecunte, Gropecountelane, Gropecontelane, Groppecountelane and Gropekuntelane".
So if you live on any street with a resemblance to teh above, you know it was once occupied by Prostitutes

That doesn't work.
Someone without legs is not differently abled. They are unable to walk, run etc. They don't fly instead of walking.
Physically challenged is patronizing? It is factual. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think. |

This one isn't offensive, but it cracked me up laughing- Last time I was in the states on holiday, I went on a volcano walk with a group & a guide. When he asked me if I needed a fanny pack, I turned beetroot & was totally affronted! In the UK it's called a bumbag, & I'm not too sure who would need a pack for their fanny? Ha ha!! |

Just curious... y do yal call it a bumbag in the UK. Here in the States bum is slang 4 buttock.. sooo I suppose fanny and bum might be the same-thing... unless the word bum for yal isn't speaking about a buttock. .....

That's the point, in the UK a fanny & bum sure ain't the same thing! There r a few inches of a difference in it! Plus I haven't a clue why we call them bumbags? |
