True that. I would consider it. People as it is put drops in their blue eyes to make them a deeper brighter blue (Not available in the USA).

WELCOME TO SUNNY SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. lol

1. I don't have that kind of money anyway.

2. At my age, I'd rather walk around in braces if such minor things were that important to me.

3. I agree pretty eyes do not equal one color over another, there's a lot more to it, but I do know I'm in the minority about that so things around here should be getting "real" interesting soon.

I envision some weird side effect like gigantic floaters, bleeding eyes or extremely dry eyes, some new strain of herpes in the eye, polka dot eyes, yellowing of the white part of the eye etc. Sorry but if you were meant to have blue eyes then that's the way it would have turned out. Can you imagine the years of training doctors would have to undergo? The amount of lawsuits from patients who had some unwanted side effect?

Oh and lets not pretend like this would be a favored procedure among asians, blacks and latinos. The only reason we even have blue contacts, rhinoplasty and blonde hair dye in the first place is because white people wanted them.

I read that she acutally had dark blue eyes which are common among newborn caucasian babies but for whatever reason, most of those babies' eye color changes.

I actually want her lashes. She had a genetic mutation that resulted in her having a double row of eyelashes. Lucky heffa. lol

I had blue eyes as a child, now they are a mixture of grey, blue and green. Depending on what I wear and make-up one of these colours comes out the most. I wish they were striking green pout. Or at least brown like my sister's and my boyfriend's eyes even though I am not sure if it would look good on me, but it sure looks great on them. I'be very pissed if my boyfriend changed his to blue no no no!. I love his brown eyes love.

I wear contact lenses, but not coluored ones. Still they are kinda blue (so that you don't loose them so easily, I once had ones that were very light pink falloff) and thus make my eyes more blueish and less greenish bawl.

I think people should be happy with what they got but if they could come up with some way to stop hair from turning grey, I could get behind that.

Oh, and if they could find a way to cure hiv and cancer and even the common cold, I'd be even happier.

Oh, I think it very much would be a favored procedure among Asians, Blacks and Latinos, cost notwithstanding. But it's certainly true global demand wouldn't only be theirs. And their presence in the market needn't necessarily be any more culturally damning than anyone else's, a notion that may or may not be coming down the pipeline here.

My contacts are not colored either. My eyes look either blue or green, depending on who you ask. I might be a hippie tree hugger, but I never really wanted to dye my hair or color my eyes.

I like brown eyes, too, just as much as green or blue. I tend to think that artificially blue eyes would make my own eyes water to look at lol Somehow I doubt they would get the incredible subtleties of shading that we all have in our eyes (including brown).

I'm imagining solid, flat, creepy blue

Shit 20 yrs?! How about a couple of months. falloff I honestly don't think the color of ones eyes actually makes it pretty. I think it's more the shape and lashes that makes it pretty and the color it adds on to it. If you have green eyes but they are shaped weird, then I'm going to give you the side-eye. And for red eyes, get Clear Eyes! *in my Ben Stein voice*

What I don't get is there are people of all races who are born with brown, green or blue eyes anyway, why would you have surgery to do that unless you were getting contact lenses.

Oh God, please don't let it get here to Asia.

Asian girls are OBSESSED with western eyes. They love blue eyes, and double eyelids (they hate their epicanthic fold). The call pretty blue eyes "sweet eyes" here.

Seriously, if this becomes available in Asia, you'll have at least 30% of a a few billion people with blue eyes. neutral

(PS, I love blue eyes, so my white brothers and sisters, don't think I'm hating---It's just that I also love Asian eyes, and don't see why blue on an Asian is even a good look).

I think I watched a show on tv about this subject once. It's been a few years since I saw it,but I remember them buying products to help them acheive having double eyelids.

[Edited 11/3/11 19:09pm]

True and I'm not suggesting that it would be culturally damning for any non-white person to want to adopt stereotypical european features. I'm saying that such a desire existed first within the european population. For whatever reasons, fairer became better amongst people of european decent and procedures like this were experimented by them and for them. Skin bleaching agents and colored contacts are their inventions. It just so happened that other racial groups wanted to take advantage of these fashionable trends (really that's all it is - a fashion trend). Its no different than white people wanting to tan and perm their hair to achieve a curly and afro-like effect.

I just find it disturbing when people make assumptions that its only non-whites who have a desire to look western/white/nordic or whatever term we want to use. I don't believe that to be true. If we are to be honest with ourselves, people want to achieve whatever look appears to be popular at the current time e.g. they want to achieve the look of the group that appears to be popular and in power. Much of this has to do with the marketing of a culture and a lifestyle.

Right now many people, regardless of their ethnicity, find light eyes and long straight hair to be attractive and tan skin to be healthy. A fine nose and full lips are also popular. A thousand years from now, people may desire slanted eyes, chocolate sking and platinum hair. Who knows. shrug

Ive something similar, or maybe it was the same show you watched. There was a woman who took some sort of device that pushed her eyelid upward (with the aid of some skin adhesive) and all of a sudden she had a more rounded eye. Speaking of round eyes...

The flip side of that is the parents and grandparents of these Asian girls DO NOT find western eyes all that attractive. Among the Chinese, there is a phrase that translates to "round eyes" which is to be meant as an insult. Wish I could pronounce it yet alone spell it. lol

I would totally turn my eyes blue permanently! I just bought some blue contacts from Brazil and they are gorgeous! They look very real too. Solotica...

My eyes are naturally brown, which is soooo boring since my hair is also brown. I just think a high-contrast look favors everyone. Dark skin/light eyes, light skin/dark eyes, light hair/dark eyes, dark hair/light eyes.

Look how boring Adam Lambert looked with his natural coloring: light hair, light eyes, light skin. The black hair really improves his looks and gives him some contrast.

I've never been into that classic standard of beauty like blonde hair and blue eyes and tans. Yuck!! I don't know why people aspire to this. Liz Taylor was prettier than any blonde. Look how plain Marilyn Monroe looks next to her.

My brother was born with blue eyes. After a few years, his eyes turned grayish green color, and after a few more years, his eyes turned brown and stayed brown. During one of the transition periods, it looked like one eye was one color and the other eye was another color. We used to laugh and call him that dog from "Little Rascals". lol
