Suggestions for HAWAII?

I'm interested in the following:

1. quiet, but romantic

2. Multiple activities to do

3. Not terribly expensive, but not ghetto

4. Natural sites

maui rocks! it's got both rainforest and semi-arid conditions, mount haleakala, you can watch waves or sun and swim. hop a boat and travel the other islands. recommend you stay in lahaina. go sit under the banyan tree....mushy

Dude...you're in paradise already...save your $$$ and drive to some secluded spot in Thailand.

For a few bucks I bet you can even pay some locals to dress in grass skirts and lei's so u can post FB pics like you've been to the 50th state.

lol

2. Multiple activities to do THE BIG ISLAND/OAHU

3. Not terribly expensive, but not ghetto falloff good luck with that

4. Natural sites ALL OF THEM BUT Maui would probably suit you best in terms of diverse sites/ecology and deep sea fishing

How so?

I lived in San Diego for 17 years.

I flew out 2 Hawaii............and it was San Diego with bluer water.

A waste of a lot of $$............it was like flying 4 six hours 2 go home. I'll never do it again.

What part did you visit Gray? Hawaii as a lot that San Diego doesn't have. You won't find the exotic creatures (unless you go to the zoo and still its not close) and you wont' find the rain forests and the caves and the volcanos - in SD like you do Hawaii. Depending on which island you go to, even the waters and beaches look different. Ima socal girl and I'd still rather live in Hawaii.

There were enough similiarities 2 tick me off and realize I had just flew 6 hours 2 go 2 a place damn near exactly like where I was living. I was not a happy camper.

That was probably the last time I take a trip 2 where "everybody" goes.

It was cool but NEVER again.

I hope you do go again and go to the non-touristy spots. I think Waikiki and Honolulu are not the best places to go. You might as well be in SD or Baja.

The saving grace was that I had a chance 2 hang out with some old friends that live out there.
