I was told about "THE LOOK" gay men and women give other people to see if others are gay.... but shit I can't tell. I can only tell if someone is interested in me or not.
Besides, I know too many married men with children living double lives that I thought were straight until they bust out their closets happily years after they had kids. I was shocked, so because of those guys I know I can't tell at all.

In my 25 years as an openly gay man I have not been told about 'THE LOOK'.
What is it? I could do with another shag before I die. Searching to find what we lost along the way.

I was told..... An extended glance right into your eyes another gay person gives you... a silent knowing glance that says "I'm available...are you? ".
I am not gay.. men look at my tits like... [img:$uid]http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc99/gataloca_bucket/093_hubba.gif[/img:$uid] then try to clean that up by saying something nice..
That is not nearly as sophisticated as the "THE LOOK" gay men share with each other.
so its different... but hanging out with gay friends I would catch some guys giving eachother the 'eye to eye'. SLICK.

When I was deep in the closet on of my closest gay friends told me his gay-dar was flawless. Then I came out and he was shocked and said he never would've guessed it.

Some people say they have great gay-dar, but I think if you tested them they would guess around 50%, which anyone would. Searching to find what we lost along the way.

I'm starting to think it doesn't exist. I used to believe in such a thing.

You're asking on the wrong website. A lot of folks on the org don't have it. Hell, a lot of them think Prince is straight.

Gay-dar is real. I think most people have it but for whatever reason choose to suppress it or find it a non-useful trait. Its just one of those things like intuition or gutt feelings or hunches. Its like when you can feel somebody staring at you even though you don't see them or when you get the feeling someone is "lying" or when you touch someone and you get a funny feeling either good or bad.
These are instincts that were probably meant to aid us mostly in the mating game but perhaps in other aspects of our lives as well.
My gay-dar has not failed me yet. There is a guy that used to ask me, and a bunch of other women, out all the time and we all said no. I said "no" because he came off gay to me but other women just didn't feel an attraction. He later turned out to be gay but was in the closet at the time.
My gay-dar only half way works with women but that's because I don't look at women the same way I look at men. I don't view them as potential mates so its irrelevant to me if they are gay. Many str8 guys are turned on by women getting together so I imagne their gay-dar probably doesnt' work or they turn it off because its convenient to do so. I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!
