|Classic 1984 Prince-fan, which was my first LP ever, then became die-hard when diving into b-sides and related artists in 1985/1986, which was sealed for life when I saw him live with The Revolution in '86.|
Fell outa love when his recordings became somewhat stuck in the same pastiche when he shut himself into Paisley Park, but even then I found pearls between the swines. (grin)
Started to be interested in him musically again with AOI, even though I stopped going to concerts, cuz since 21 Nights I found his attitude to hs fans too much based on how much money he could rake in and showcasing too much meh-music.
He will always the man with the voice that moves me like no other, though. Too bad he kept so much of his brilliance inside, though. Can't wait until the Prince Estate starts issueing the side we already kinda know; the The Flesh-Prince, the different versions of U Got The Look (nice EP idea, maybe?) and my biggest hopes to ever see the light of day are Joy In Repetition with the original intro, his own version of Databank and the original Old Friends 4 Sale; all songs that lift him up into brilliance.
