I miss the excitement and mystery of my childish mind. Everything was new to me, so stuff like music held more of a supernatural place in my mind.

But more than that, people and opinions and orindary experiences like going to the mall or to McDonalds were all more exciting.

The trade off was that everything was overwhelming and I was miserable a lot more often.

I notice that about my kids, they are disappointed and miserable a LOT, no matter what I do. I gave up long ago trying to please them razz

My Max, who is soon 7, told me today he LOVES the $2 shop. So I told him "you need $2 to go in there!" so he asked me if tomorrow he can do some chores mushy

Aside from not having to pay bills and Saturday morning cartoons, not much. I prefer being an adult - no threat of being bullied, plus I can get up when I want, do what I want, buy whatever I want, and I can tell people to fuck off if I want.

I think there are more expectations to be happy all the time when you are a kid, expecially if you have everything you need and don't suffer (like me) and so you make your own suffering.

But yeah a $2 store would have been my favorite place, except for maybe the 99 cent store

Some family members. Some bonds. Being able to be carefree, seeing the world as paradise without having to worry about everything you deal with as an adult. I miss really good TV shows and movies. MTV Weekends and a shitload of cartoons. I miss more innovative music. I miss being able to not label things.

I miss being able to go out and buy a record without knowing everything on it already, at least snippets.....

I miss waiting for a new Michael Jackson performance like VMA 95 or a short film.

I miss proper console games that was fun that you could play with friends....More gameplay less graphics.

I think I know what U mean, I corrupted myself through curiosity quite a bit too when I was young.

Two of my favorite things to do as a kid were to swing and roll down a grassy hill. I still swing on ocassion so I don't miss that. However, I have not rolled down a hill in quite some time.

The Jerseyans here may be familiar with South Mountain Reservation. When my family and I would go there for cookouts I had to roll down this particular grassy hill.....over and over and over again. That was my favorite part of the cookout! biggrin. Good memories.

My summers at my dad's mum's farm. Kittens, attic, spiral staircase, barns, uncle Otto and his freezer full of ice-creams, sofa-swing, my naughty cousin Cecilia, aunt Aina baking, playing aunt Kerstin's piano, licorice all-sorts, trips into town, tivoli, läsk, the smell of th glue that came in a grey triangular bottle with the red lid, sleeping in lopplådan, the magical forest.
