lol My father and I both still mix our drinks. Fam looks at us like we're crazy for doing it. Other than that, I truly miss being able to chow down on junk food and just....handle it. If I try that now, I better make sure I have at least five hours to myself and a bathroom is free. I can't do the "all night sugar fest" and wake up bright and shiny for the next day.

I also miss just messing around with all the great computer software I had. We gave it all away to my cousin, and Lord knows where it is now. I had some really great stuff like Math Blaster, Barbie Hair Salon, and this thing called Hollywood--which is part of the reason I enjoy writing to this day. I wrote all kinds of scripts with that thing.

I miss the ignorance towards the real world.

I hate that I can see through all the bullshit as an adult, it drives me batty.

I miss the excitement and mystery of my childish mind. Everything was new to me, so stuff like music held more of a supernatural place in my mind.

But more than that, people and opinions and orindary experiences like going to the mall or to McDonalds were all more exciting.

The trade off was that everything was overwhelming and I was miserable a lot more often.

How ironic, I recently began writing a poem titled "I Miss" in reference to childhood.

1) I miss NOT paying bills biggrin It's amazing because as a kid I couldn't wait to be out on my own. Now I see why Mom was grumpy sometimes when she came home. Working everyday to pay mortgage and bills just to come home to kids who hadn't cleaned up after themselves can be VERY frustrating. wall

2) I miss hopscotch, catching fireflies and taking their lights off and placing them on my ears (don't judge me boxed ), playing dodge ball at night time (eventhough my older sister tripped and bust her lip and scraped above her lip, making her look like she had an albino mustache), playing hide and seek, picking up rolly pollies, worms and caterpillars (I would NOT dare do that now).

3)Heck! I miss the innocence involved in childhood, the carefree spirit because you have not experienced the reality or pain that the world has to offer yet. pout

Oh, and I almost forgot. I miss the candy lady and the ice cups and pickles that I constantly purchased smile

Nothing like a trip down memory lane biggrin

I still feel weird saying that I'm an adult because I'm (almost) 21 years old, but I do have all the control over my shit, whereas when I was a kid, I didn't. I certainly don't miss being a powerless motherfucker. lol

Having summers off.

I need a job where I get a 3 month vacation every year and random days and weeks off for holidays as well.

That and not having a job because as a kid, you didn't have to worry about money. The only financial worries I had were if I had enough change to buy popcorn at the pool.
