Home sweet home candle smells like apple pie. YUM.

Day 3 of drinking only coffee or water. No more sugary drinks. This is hard. Summer started and I went to iced tea and messed myself up.

Gotta get back on consuming less sugar.

Doing the same. I had my first soda in quite some time today. But back to my daily 1.5 gallons of water tomorrow.

Make sure your raft is inflated and tied up out front. Or inside maybe, you wouldn't want any squirrels or rancoons or whatever to get to it before you. lol

She's like a baby sometimes.

That just seems like a horrible combination. Like maybe she should not have access to large quantities of her own money. How does her husband feel when her son gets money from her?

I don't know how he feels, but I could imagine he wouldn't be too happy about it. The thing is, the money she gives to her son is borrowed, so it's basically going on her bill (the lady it's borrowed from won't lend to him anymore). Her husband isn't good with money and spends most of what he has on gambling, or when he's sick of that, taking care of his pets and plants. All the money either of them has comes from us children (or rather, just my wife and I and my wife's sister and her husband who live in Switzerland). From the money we give my mother-in-law each month only 500 baht a month (about $17) goes to my father-in-law precisely because he's so irresponsible with money. So my mother-in-law is the better one with money, and she really is very good when it comes to stuff like getting a lot of food for the money, making sure there's lots of rice and vegetables and many kilos of meat to last the month. She cooks giant pans of food for everyone to eat. She's just easy to take advantage of when it comes to certain things, which unfortunately can sometimes involve larger amounts of money. I love her to bits though, and she's one of my heroes in life. She built houses in this very street when she was younger.

So she is the most responsible out of this elderly couple. I wish she could kindly be advised to never spend over a certain amount without consulting with you or her other son in law in Switzerland.

Now about this half ass brother-in-law that is her son, tell me more about him?

Did your father-in-law also build houses alongside your mother-in-law?

He's the baby and his mother lets him get away with too much. He has debts of over 200,000 baht (over $6600), which for a regular Thai is impossible to pay back and also remarkable to be able to rack up. His youngest son New is the one my wife and I look after for between maybe 6 and 15 hours every day. He and his wife work from the early afternoon and come home in the early hours of the morning, sleep until midday, mope around for an hour or two and eat, then head off again. He has a son by another woman who comes to stay here for a month when school's out who we take care of then too. His current wife has a boy also, from a previous relationship, though her family never comes here. From what I gather she takes a lot of what money her and her husband make and gives it to her mother and her son. She never really helps her mother in law here though. confused

My father in law didn't work as a builder. He was a second-hand car salesman with an eye for the ladies who did make a good living once upon a time, but who I gather wasn't around much and squandered his money on his mistresses, alcohol and gambling. Not a great guy, by any means, but he's obviously settled down somewhat now.

Well if you get through all this you can write a book called "Inlaws Who Love Too Much". Now the couple that live in Switzerland, is he white?

Seems as if both daughter's did their best to find someone as different from their dad as possible!!! I have seen that before, where women go so far as date out of their race in hopes of not ending up with someone even remotely like their dad; because the dad drove the mother nuts. Weirdly they don't hate their dads, they just do not want their mothers headaches.

I think you're probably on to something. hmmm We both have our faults, of course, but both he and I are faithful non-playboy types who don't cause our wives any worry as far as cheating, neither of us gamble, and he doesn't really drink. lol
