After reading about the recent controversy involving a trangender female victim of a hate crime in McDonald's ( http://prince.org/msg/100/357587 ) , it's been very clear to me that transphobia is very real and I do NOT like it at all. Transgenders are people and they have human rights like everyone else, damn it!

I'll save this kind of rants for the P&R. THIS is GD. And I want to have a thread that show transgender women, post-op & pre-op.

Tony, this thread just bumped you up a notch on my cool-o-meter

I met my 'Big Sister' in MPLS back in 1991, we became firm friends. Over the years we kept in touch, and about 6 years ago my friend had M-2-F surgery.

The change in her was amazing, she seems so much happier now and I'm so proud of what she went thru to get to finally feel happy and content with her life and who she is. I love her to bits.

I am a big supporter of Transgender rights, and their inclusion into the community as LBGT - they are as welcome in my house as anyone else.

Life is short, and our time making bonds with other souls even shorter.

Why waste it?

Lovely and "normal"

But "normal" is sometimes overrated. She didn't become the toast of the town and photographer's darling/muse till she began "reconstructing". Oddly enough, her extreme look really works on camera IMO. I think it's a combination of modeling ability and owning her outrageous look.
