In court, Taylor admitted to having sex with a 16-year old prostitute but claimed that she said that she was 19 at the time of the incident.

The prosecution accepted the plea deal because Taylor has been helping law enforcement in human trafficking cases since he was charged last year.

Back in May, police arrested Taylor at a New Jersey hotel after police received word from the 16-year old girl's uncle that she was being forced to have sex with the former NFL star by a man acting as her pimp.

Police and prosecutors say that Taylor has been cooperative since day one, hence, the light sentence.

I loved LT as a player. In the very first game as a NY Giant he was penalized for unnecessary roughness. He terrorized quarterbacks, and made offensive coordinators and coached rethink their game plans. He was a rare player who could be on the line, in the middle, or even cover receivers. It's fortunate that he got into the hall of fame for his on field activities. I don't know much if anything about his childhood or upbringing. This was just sad. Listen to the opening lines of the movie "blind side"...Lawrence Taylor changed the whole game.

I'm OK with this sentencing because I believe he is telling the truth. But I hope he's finally learned his lesson and stays out of trouble. Six years probation and becomming a registered sex offender is a pretty serious sentence, anyway.

No he hasn't. Being registered as a sex offender is a major punishment. In most cases, a sex offender can NOT lived in any neigborhood where there is a high population of children AND teens.

LT will have a very difficult time finding a house OR an apartment to lived in. He may end up joining the homeless population.
