Yeah, caps lock posts suck too.

In general, I find that orgers who post in a color or who post in all bold have a "Look at me! Look at me!" whiny, bitchy, and ignorant view on life. I'm just better off not interacting with them (although I don't always maintain that "rule").

I don't have a problem with long posts. It the ones that don't have any spaces between paragraphs that annoy me and cause me to skim through.

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

biggrin Is that the triangle? You know I'm gonna be like, "FauxReal, what is that? Is that a triangle? Because triangles only have three--" (that's me getting cut off midsentence by the onslaught I wasn't prepared for).

Kinda semi-related (quoting/replying) I sometimes don't respond to something someone posts to me (especially on a thread I've started) because I feel like a jackass responding to each and every post. I think folk will find it obnoxious/annoying.

So if you (general "you") post something to me and I skip it, I'm not ignoring, I'm just trying not to fill the entire thread with my posts.

...not that that would be like the worst thing ever or anything. rolleyes

i always try to respond to each post if i start a thread. i'd offer donuts too, if it were possible

within skimming threads, i usually stop on the ones of people whom I like. like you dear. and whistle, and ndru, and other sane sensible witty people.

Cerebus and I just had a whole discussion on another thread about skimming through long threads (yesterday, I think).

But then again you probably skimmed through that one too. neutral

Yep. You can pretty much guarantee that I skim on most threads that are at least three pages in length. If it's something deep and fact based I'll read very carefully. Otherwise, I speed skim, looking for the same comments or words I have in my head in hopes of not repeating what somebody else has already said.

I also confess that I probably get skimmed more than most orgers because I write too damn much. Can't help it. It's just the way I am. I even try to self edit most of the time and obviously do a piss poor job of it. lol

Not much of a confession, so much as it is a quirk, but even if I really want to comment on what someone has to say, I refrain from doing so if I have already quoted that person like 2-3 times within my last few posts.

Don't want them thinking I'm on their proverbial dick or anything like that.

EDIT: This is assuming this person and I aren't obviously having a back and forth discussion.

I used to take notice of that, but I don't anymore. It's a forum, we're both here, and how else are you going to get to know people? lol

I try to treat everybody the same and I don't hold grudges, but there are a few people here who I simply won't quote at all anymore.

I used to pay attention to it myself. And I used to pay attention to who quoted me, and how often. But I stopped paying attention to that stuff years ago.

The last one I caught myself doing (here) that I'm trying to change was not quoting people who I've had lame internet beef with. I don't hold grudges and it's just the internet. It's not like I agree with everything my friends and acquaintances say in the real world (I don't! lol ). So I'm trying to break that habit, too.

I would try not to quote people I've had a beef with, but in my old age, I have a helluva time remembering. I can remember who I like here, but I can't remember all the ones I don't. biggrin

there is also, I confess...the unmeasurable thread responses I've typed, then erased before posting them for fear of their political incorrectness, or ticking off another orger..this is supposed to be fun, yes?

I've never formally blocked an orger, but I do exercise a sort of personal anathema policy. If someone shows themself to be an egregious enough idiot enough times, I commit them to nonexistence in my mind. I don't bother reading their posts, much less their threads, and I no longer respond to them even if I'm directly addressed. I can take disagreements -- even fierce ones, but I think some folk come here to do nothing but stir up crap. I cant' be bothered with that.

It irritates me when people keep clicking on "reply with quote" in photowhore threads and we get pages and pages of the same pictures and have to scroll forever to see new faces. boxed

And I quote as many of them as possible before he can do so. lol

I love emoticons, it's true. But if somebody WANTS to get their panties in a bunch emoticons are just as likely to set them off as text. shrug
