Help! I turned into a Housewife! Most o' y'all know my story. I was a news director for 7 years. Got a little burned out and walked away to be closer to my cupcake.
I kind of fell into being a housewife. Economy sucks, I do a little work from home, and have been trying to shift my career for 5 years now. This last few years, I've begun to really miss the job. And lately the station has ben contacting me to come back. But I love cupcake more. And he's my rock. He's got the great job now, and sometimes I find myself getting really frustrated.
I went from being a big fish in a small pond to a minnow in the Pacific. I'm getting a few contracts from home and I have the ability to create again, but no real job. I like the working from home, but I wonder if I genuinely miss my NETWORK and that city. An old co-worker called me yesterday and we went down memory lane. Sometimes it feels like I have kind of lost my identity. I think I'm feeling the sting called pride too. I'm really trying to carve my niche here. But I think that I'm struggling with knowing that he's the shit down here, and i'm the wife. I'll keep plugging, but when he leaves in the morning in his suits and I pour my coffee and head to the home office, I feel a little guilt and sting. It could also just be the grass is greener and find a distraction and move on. That could be it too.

You get the feeling people on here are giving you a wide bearth on this one? Must be that rock you are clinging onto got them scared. Lets make this easy (multiple choice). Your options:
1. Go back to work
2. Change careers (something fulfilling you can do from home)
3. Mother someone else (apart from cupcake)
4. Have an affair
5. Go back to work (and let the sharks have him, if he wants)
Cant think of anymore, but one of those has got to tick the most boxes. | |

I understand where you're coming from... I'm kind of in a similar situation myself. My youngest child has just gone off to school and I don't know what to do with myself. I currently only work Fridays and Saturdays and my boss has promised me more days as soon as she can, but i'm not sure when that will be. I love the company I work for so don't want to look for other work... but right now i'm just doing the housewifey stuff. It's only been a week and i'm getting bored. I need a change too.

I have a part time and work a few days a week to get me out too. I'm wondering if i'm having a grass is greener issue. I have a project I'm trying to tackle, but I think it's the big fish in a small pond issue. i'm sure i'll be fine.don't go back skriz
