It was the radio station that Jem had, KJEM.

It was like a studio wit microphones, with a separate DJ booth. Jem had like 4 turntables and a mic so you know she got busy!!

I love dolls and I was a total Barbie girl. When I was 17, (and thought I was grown), I gave my dolls away, like a dummy, sad I had a couple of vintage Barbies too.

Anyway, now I collect dolls in my old age, especially Barbies, fairies and trolls.

[img:$uid]http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y240/delivertheword/collection/100_1508.jpg[/img:$uid]

Right now I'm working on my ethnic Barbies...so far I have the Kenyan, Indian, South African, Native American and Caucasian.

I'm looking for the Japanese, Chinese and Mexican right now as well as the 1965 Glamour Misty, 1966 Jane West and a 1987 Jem doll called Synergy

This could get expensive, lol

My daughter has 3 or 4 barbie dolls which she rarely plays with. I like to change their outfits once in a while.

She also has a Hannah Montana doll which has a turning hairpiece thingy, which makes her sing. lol It gets right on my nerves. I'm gonna throw it out one day when she's not looking.

Came across these new dolls on a website called Mixis. They are multicultural. I wish they were around a few years ago when my girls were into Barbies/Bratz Dolls.

The doll on the left is Emerald, mixed with Black American, Japanese and First Nations; (second to the left) Opal is Ghanaian and British. Houda is French and Lebanese. And on the end is Latina/Jewish.

Peace. Love. Prince

Reminds me of a skit a comedian use to do about Barbie . . .

Have ya'll noticed Barbie's lifestyle?

Malibu Barbie ,

Barbie's Dream House

Barbie's Beach House,

Barbie's Dune Buggy,

Barbie's Yacht,

Barbie's Corvette

Think about?

What does Barbie do for a living? She's not married to Ken.

You know what I think? I think Barbie's uh-ho'.

I think Ken's her pimp.

That's what I think.

Even the 'Joan' Barbie had to be uber thin, I guess. But she does have her famous 'pen' necklace. I want one now!!!

I'm assuming these are for adults? I don't get the appeal of having dolls as an adult. None of the dolls look like the people they are supposed to be. Don is much more handsome, Roger has wrinkles and is skinny, Betsy is doesn't have big eyes (which I think are the wrong color) nor har as big, etc.

[Edited 8/5/10 15:58pm]

Yep, they're for adults. Mostly for collectors, I think. I don't collect Barbies. I have one of these shelving units from IKEA:

[img:$uid]http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e306/drleomarvin/images1-1.jpg[/img:$uid]

Each cube is filled with DVDs and memorabilia (sp?) from my favorite TV shows or books or albums from my favorite authors/artists. For example, I have all my The Office DVDs in one cube and a Dwight bobblehead next to them. I have all my Mad Men DVDs in one cube and would love to put a Mad Men Barbie next to them. Christmas, maybe??

I'm thinking of getting a Yoda doll and painting it purple so I can put it next to my Prince stuff. Or a Prince bobblehead, if one exists.

What do they mean when saying, "lost her curves". They want to give her bigger tits? Because that's really the only difference.

That doll is a stick figure compared to the actress. It has no hips and skinny legs. It's hard to tell because of the dark dress, but I'm sure it still has the big chest- Barbie usually does.
