Today Mom finally woke from the anesthetic and came off the vent. It was good to actually see "her" as opposed to that other woman that didn't look so much like my mother. It was sweet to see my father keep referring to her by her maiden name... as though the last 55 years had vanished and she was that teenager that he fell in love with. And he did it quite honestly. He'd shake his head oops every time he said it. radiating your love back to you  That's good to hear!

she had a couple rough days. we finally figured out tonight that it's a perforation in her intestinal area. They went into surgery about an hour ago. Not good going into a surgery of this kind on the heels of heart surgery. Thank you for your positive energy last week and thank you for keeping her in your thoughts again now.  She couldn't stop crying 'cause she knew he was gone to stay | |

mom made it through surgery. we have been so fortunate to have such good surgeons. This was the better of the two scenarios. no colostomy needed. stress/medication/non eating induced ulcer of the small intestine. We just have to hope that her heart isn't damaged from all the infection and that she doesn't throw a blood clot now. she doesn't need a stroke on top of all of this. my eyes keep leaking lol... fear, relief and adrenaline all rolled into one i suppose She couldn't stop crying 'cause she knew he was gone to stay | |
